Import duplicate records will give you a violation of primary key constraint.

For this kind of solution for work, you'll end up made a lot of programming using staging tables and home made conflict resolution algorithms.

This will not be a good idea if you think this solution maintenance in time and the effort to re - invent something that is already built inside the database, like the river.

  • A layer can emulate the changes to another layer?

I use Photoshop CS3 and I was wondering if it was possible.

    Here's a situation:

I'm half-page flyer creation/editing (you can hold two leaflets on a printed page) and when I do any changes I have to always delete the other group, make a copy of the amended and move it into place. I was wondering if there was a device that would allow a layer or layer group to mimic the changes made by another layer or layer group? (as in, I have to change/move the text on the layer of left and right layer will change/move at the same time).

I think I was able to do this with one of the older versions of Photoshop (though it has been many years and could have been Corel Draw that does this).

. I was wondering if there was a device that would allow a layer or layer group to mimic the changes made by another layer or layer group?

Yes, there are different techniques available to you. Binding and grouping of the layers may be what you were doing before.

The best possible technology is in fact a new, using the so-called dynamic objects. You can have two instances of the same smart object in your document. Updated changes on one, will reflect in another.

I note you have a desktop computer and you have posted this in a forum of the laptop, but I think I can help you. Here's the Quickspecs, incidentally:

    http://h18000.www1.HP.com/products/QuickSpecs/11604_na/11604_na.html

With a desktop computer (even a workstation like yours), it is much easier than with a laptop. Just put in the new drive (I guess you understand jumpering with drives ATA/IDE and ID devices if you're dependencies a scsi disk) and format from Windows XP. Now copy the data you want to save on the new disk. You won't be able to separate programs on the new drive if that's what you had in mind. just data files. For example, you can put all your Powerpoint presentations on the new disk, but you cannot move MS Office there. It is linked in the BONE and must be reinstalled.

If you want to be sure just copy everything except the Windows folder and the Program Files folder to the new drive.

Yes, you can install all the operating system on its own partition, but be careful to choose to install the new software on another drive top and you may want to move my Documents on the second drive for example. This will keep the data and the separate operating system, which is what I assume you want to accomplish. Let us know if you need help here.

During the installation of Windows XP, you can create partitions and choose which use the partition to the OS.

  • Configuration of the bios/add another SATA drive

I just added a 500 GB Sata Drive in my Dell8300. I cloned it with the info of the Sata 120 GB drive came with the system.

I left the orig. cable/HDD attached as he was to the Mboard and plugged the new drive in the free sata connection.

When I go into the bios, the only way I can get the new boot disk is to turn off the device of the orig. If this isn't the case, it will boot to the old drive.

I guess I have to swap the cables on the sata connector of Mboard for him to start again disc? Or, can I I put in place in the Bios to do? (I tried, but in vain)

Also, when I get it started properly, how can I do to get Windows XP to show both drives in Explorer? At present, if I have two drives is enabled in the bios, it will start on the old disk, but not to show new disc in Explorer...

Just a guess here, but I wonder if, because the old drive has been cloned on the new drive, I have to rename the drive letters to get to show?

  • How can I configure the standard user profile in the impossibility to use the command prompt on windows7

My teen age son knows how to get into the command prompt and use the computer as an administrator temporarily... How can I stop this?  It has a standard user account.

On the flavors below, you must edit the registry directly by creating the value of HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System! DisableCMD.

How to change the registry? I need more specific measures.

    Thank you
    Kathy
This is not a trivial process for non trained. Also note that open a command prompt does NOT give your son of additional privileges unless he knows the password for an administrator account.
Please note that if you skip any step then you may have a machine that won't start longer.
    1. Burn a CD to repair Windows via Control Panel / backup and restore.
    2. Test this boot the machine with her CD in the repair of Windows.
    3. Label this CD as "Repair Windows CD", then store it in a safe place.
    4. Start normally. Logging in as an administrator account.
    5. Create a Restore Point.
    6. Log in under your son's account.
    7. Click on the Globe to start, and then type regedit.exe and press ENTER. Enter the credentials of the administrator in case of dispute.
    8. HKey_Current_User\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows-access
    9. If there is no windows system key, create it:
Click Edit / new / key, type system, and then press ENTER.
    10. Click on the key to the system.
    11. Click Edit / new / DWord, and then type the letters DisableCMD and press Enter.
    12. Double-click the DisableCMD value, and then type 1 in the data field and press ENTER.
    13. Try to open a command prompt. You should get a message of "deny".
