In the parameter of size of memory to the CBD

I was at the parameter inmemory_size 200 MB, when I bounced my database the value show is 208 MB. Can you help me understand why it turns into 208 MB while that bounce?

In addition to what others have said, I suggest that you set the value in memory for each PDB.

If you do not have each PDB will inherit the default PIC, which means that any an APB could consume all available memory.

See the table in the doc

https://docs.Oracle.com/database/121/Admin/memory.htm#BABJEHAJ

In a multi-tenant environment, the setting of this parameter in the root is the setting for the database entire container multi-tenant (PEH). This adjustable parameter in each plug-in database (PDB) to limit the maximum size of the column for each PDB IM store. The sum of the values of the PDB may be less than, equal, or greater than the value of the CBD. However, the value of the CDB is the maximum amount of memory available in the store column IM for the full CDB, including the root and all PDB files. unless this parameter is specifically set for a PDB file, the PDB inherits the value of the CBD, which means that the PDB can use all available for the CBD column IM warehouse.

You can also specify a compression level for objects that you plan to store in memory. The compromise is compared to the performance space.

  • Restore the CBD

    Hello

    I took the backup of the CBD with RMAN for oracle 12 c. Please let me know how to restore the CDB.

    You can use the same commands to restore the entire CBD or DPS depending on your RMAN connection. If you have a full backup of the CBD, it will also inlcude all PDB.

    If a data file is missing, you can use the RMAN LIST FAILURE, FAILURE of ADVICE and the FAILURE of the REPAIR:

  • Application of computer Virtual Image precompiled App development database: start of the CBD fails with ORA-12514

    Hello

    I have a few questions about the pre built Database App Development VM image.

    I am trying to use it to familiarize myself with Oracle 12 c and would like to receive feedback on the following points:

    1. When you open a terminal session and then trying to connect as the sysdba, it automatically connects me to the ORCL PDB. How does this happen? I have just a sqlplus/nolog followed normal con sys/oracle as a sysdba. My ORACLE_SID is set to cdb1. Thank you I can change session at the root, etc. - my query is how by default does me to the ORCL PDB?
    2. If I connect to the container root of the CBD, namely sqlplus sys/oralce@cdb1 and then issue an immediate halt, the CBD closes down, but in the process gives an ORA-12514 error - after that I am unable to start CDB, as shows the ORA-12514 error when I try to sys/oracle@cdb1 conn - TNS:Listener is not currently of service requested in connect appears.

    For directions to the two above would be appreciated.

    Thank you, Mohan

    All,

    Well, I have fixed it for myself.

    TWO_TASK env var has been ORCL beforehand to be close the CDB.

    Disabling then close the container and restarting it fixed my error ORA-12514.

    Kind regards

    Mohan

    Its new, so I think that you must first create the PDB (plugable DB), then you can create user as part of the PDB not covered by the CBD (DB container),

  • View the size of memory for Equium A100-233

    Hi I have laptop very an Equium A100-233.
    In the specifications, it indicates that the built-in display memory can be up to 128 MB.
    The problem is that the driver has 64 MB max.
    As the memory is shared with the system memory, I guess I do need a MEMORY larger bar, so I put a 1 GB DIMM in there now, but it still says 64 MB max.
    So is there a setting I need to change to make 128 MB?

    I also think that you have the Satellite A100-233 and not a satellite.
    I put t found any unit Equium bearing that number.

    However, the specification says the laptop supports an Intel 950GM 8 MB to 128 MB shared memory.
    Upgrade memory max could be up to 4 GB. Then perhaps you need to install more memory to use the 128 MB

    But if it is not a special option for graphics memory changes so I assume that the driver will check the value of memory.

    There is no problem at all. Preinstalled OS uses small partition recovery, recovery partition Toshiba is it also and it is not included in quality when check you it in windows Explorer.

    Open the disk management option and there you can see the exact structure of the partitions.

  • Custom partition sizes and memory system for ESXi 4.1

    With ESX 4.0, I would customize my partitions during the installation (see below). With ESXi 4.1 GUI there is no option to customize the scores.

    Now is the best practice to take default values? If not, what are the ESXi 4.1 recommended sizes of partition and how do you custtomize them?

    What memory system. In the past, I would rise to 800MB (1/2 of the swap partition). ESXi 4.1 design requires no it more? I can't change that vcenter as I could before.

    Who wish to understand best practice in this version build information.

    root (/) 5120

    swap 1600

    var 4096

    Home 2048

    opt 2048

    tmp 2048

    You cannot change the size of the partition. If this is embedded (installed to USB) then ESXi will use total 1 GB. In the case of installation (installation on a hard drive) ESXi will use 1 GB and create a separate partition from scratch 4 GB.

  • Boolean FPGA size in memory

    LabVIEW stores Boolean values as a U8 in memory article.

    http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvconcepts/how_labview_stores_data_in_memory/

    My question is what happens when you expand in FPGA? More precisely if I made 8 tables of choice with the data type in a Boolean value, which takes the same amount of resources as a single table to match U8? Or it takes fewer resources than 8 tables U8?

    HERE you can find out exactly how much space is used by different things on the FPGA target.

    Normally a logical structure of X - bit consume X bit from FPGA has no limitation in this regard.

  • Synchronization between the CBD and the PDB 12 c

    Hello

    I read the following the my 12 c new student guide:

    If a common to users and roles had been created beforehand, the PDB new or closed must be synchronized to retrieve new common users and roles of the root. The synchronization is performed automatically if the PDB is opened in read-write mode. If you open the PDB in read-only mode, an error is returned.

    SQL> select version from v$instance;
      12.1.0.1.0
    SQL> sho con_name
      CDB$ROOT
    SQL> select con_id,name, open_mode from v$pdbs;
      2 PDB$SEED            READ ONLY
      3 PDB2_1              READ ONLY
    SQL> create user c##dude identified by dude;
      User created.
    SQL> select * from PDB_PLUG_IN_VIOLATIONS;
      no rows selected.
    SQL> drop user c##dude cascade;
      User dropped.

    User dropped.

    If I understand the student's guide, creating a common root user $ CBD can be created, modified, dropped when the PDB is mounted mode, but read-only must return an error.

    Any ideas that I can not reproduce this behavior?

    Thank you!

    I suggest that repost you this thread in the forum shared.

    Re-read that quote you posted.

    In your example the PDB is NOT closed when you created the common user.

    For this purpose, you do not have "open the PDB in read-only mode after having created a common user.

    Common users must have privileges in all PDB files.

    If you create a common user when a PDB file is closed the PDB data dictionary entries will not be updated.

    When you open then the PDB in view write Oracle detects that the PDB data dictionary is out of sync and refresh it. It cannot do this if you open the PDB read-only.
