Boolean FPGA size in memory

LabVIEW stores Boolean values as a U8 in memory article.

http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvconcepts/how_labview_stores_data_in_memory/

My question is what happens when you expand in FPGA? More precisely if I made 8 tables of choice with the data type in a Boolean value, which takes the same amount of resources as a single table to match U8? Or it takes fewer resources than 8 tables U8?

HERE you can find out exactly how much space is used by different things on the FPGA target.

Normally a logical structure of X - bit consume X bit from FPGA has no limitation in this regard.

    Hi all

Can anyone provide some information on what happens after reaching the size of memory managed server segment by... We are on 11.1.2.3. Our is a compact deployment with EAS, APS, RA, WA, web applications deployed on the single managed server work space. • "IO Module\Reinitialize' IO NŒUD FPGA resets my memory default block (as defined on Project Explorer)

I would like to reset my memory block to all zeros (only once) using the FPGA code. In my past experiences, it did not by the FPGA e/s 'IO done Module\Initialization' NŒUD.  To compensate for this, I used a SCTL that passes through each address of the memory block and stores a zero. The approach works fine, but I want to save space since we will quadruple the size of the code in a few months.

You should be able to set your memory to initialize to zero in the memory properties. Here is a link that should help you:

In addition to what others have said, I suggest that you set the value in memory for each PDB.

If you do not have each PDB will inherit the default PIC, which means that any an APB could consume all available memory.

See the table in the doc

    https://docs.Oracle.com/database/121/Admin/memory.htm#BABJEHAJ

In a multi-tenant environment, the setting of this parameter in the root is the setting for the database entire container multi-tenant (PEH). This adjustable parameter in each plug-in database (PDB) to limit the maximum size of the column for each PDB IM store. The sum of the values of the PDB may be less than, equal, or greater than the value of the CBD. However, the value of the CDB is the maximum amount of memory available in the store column IM for the full CDB, including the root and all PDB files. unless this parameter is specifically set for a PDB file, the PDB inherits the value of the CBD, which means that the PDB can use all available for the CBD column IM warehouse.

You can also specify a compression level for objects that you plan to store in memory. The compromise is compared to the performance space.

  • FPGA using playback memory to host VI

    Hello

I use a PXI-7831R card and I put aside a block of memory onboard, I write it several times during the execution of the program FPGA. After everything is finished running, I would like to read this block of memory directly from the host VI with a reading of the memory. When I try to read this brief however, I get an array of all 0. I followed all the values that I store in memory during execution, and they are all valid and what I expect. I know that all the values are stored properly; the most funny thing is that when I stop running and start upward, the previous value is always in memory. The problem seems to occur in the function of reading the memory on my host
    VI.

Do you have a suggestion or explanation? Is used to Read the working memory of the host VI normally, or the fact that they are running on the host system, modify or alter the functionality?

Thank you much for the help.

    Hello

You can access your memory of targets directly from the host VI. You will need to read the memory in another loop on the FPGA (preferably another loop) and write to a FIFO dma for communication directly to the host Interface as described above. Basically writing to the DMA fifo is identical to writing from memory, except in the case of memory, you have addresses that you can access individually and the DMA is a fifo (first in first out) so you can access individual pieces of information out of use.

Here's a good tutorial on this.

    Kind regards

    Andrew

  • [Labview FPGA]: block of memory use Xilinx HDL integration node

    Hello

In my project, I would be developed my own VHDL module and integrated in my project of LV FPGA with a knot of integration.

But for an evolution of my code, I wonder if it is possible to use in my own code VHDL, Xilinx library (as a block of memory).

    Thank you.

You can use any Xilinx IP (or IP and others) in your external code. For example, if you generate a block of memory using block memory generator you can instantiate this IP in your own VHDL.

  • Custom partition sizes and memory system for ESXi 4.1

With ESX 4.0, I would customize my partitions during the installation (see below). With ESXi 4.1 GUI there is no option to customize the scores.

Now is the best practice to take default values? If not, what are the ESXi 4.1 recommended sizes of partition and how do you custtomize them?

What memory system. In the past, I would rise to 800MB (1/2 of the swap partition). ESXi 4.1 design requires no it more? I can't change that vcenter as I could before.

Who wish to understand best practice in this version build information.

    root (/) 5120

    swap 1600

    var 4096

    Home 2048

    opt 2048

    tmp 2048

You cannot change the size of the partition. If this is embedded (installed to USB) then ESXi will use total 1 GB. In the case of installation (installation on a hard drive) ESXi will use 1 GB and create a separate partition from scratch 4 GB.

  • View the size of memory for Equium A100-233

Hi I have laptop very an Equium A100-233.
In the specifications, it indicates that the built-in display memory can be up to 128 MB.
The problem is that the driver has 64 MB max.
As the memory is shared with the system memory, I guess I do need a MEMORY larger bar, so I put a 1 GB DIMM in there now, but it still says 64 MB max.
So is there a setting I need to change to make 128 MB?

I also think that you have the Satellite A100-233 and not a satellite.
I put t found any unit Equium bearing that number.

However, the specification says the laptop supports an Intel 950GM 8 MB to 128 MB shared memory.
Upgrade memory max could be up to 4 GB. Then perhaps you need to install more memory to use the 128 MB

But if it is not a special option for graphics memory changes so I assume that the driver will check the value of memory.

  • Cannot change the size of the video memory in Satellite L30-113

I have a Satellite l30-113 which has 1 GB memory and windows Vista.

The size of memory that has been attributed to the vga is 319 MB.
How can I decrease the video memory?

    Hello

do you really mean 319MB? This machine only supports a maximum video memory 256 MB shared memory. So if you might have 32 MB (which is how I imagine rather memory assigned to your VGA) you can increase the video memory of this machine by changing the value of memory assigned in the bios of your machine.

Do you know how to enter the bios?
