I just noticed that the microphone is always on without any software use.
Is it possible to make inactive while there is not any software use?

    I know that I can enable / disable on-demand.

However, I ask if there is a better way.
Windows XP allows the microphone when there is a SW to use and turned off after.

    Hello

Any audio device can be enabled / disabled in the control panel-> sound
In the Read tab you can find speakers and in the recording tab, you can find the devices available for sound recording (mic)

Here, you can disable the internal microphone

By the way: the internal MIC is part of the webcam would be possible that webcam software starts automatically when you start Windows os?
You can disable this automatic startup in msconfig-> Startup tab

  • Speakers work, but the microphone does not after OS reinstalled (dv6)

Sound is played through the speakers, but the Bay internal microphone and external microphone device receive no signal. Windows recognizes these devices, but the volume on the sound Panel Monitor is inactive. In addition, the webcam works fine.

I just reinstalled the operating system and everything worked fine before this date. I installed the driver IDT High Definition CODEC (same driver as before) and the Device Manager indicates that it is up-to-date and functioning normally. I am running the same OS as soon as before reformatting (Windows 7 64-bit).

Yes, these devices are turned on and yes I have checked the noise levels of these devices.

Update: when I try to run Sound Recorder I get an error message: could not find an audio recording device.

  • XP Home Edition, SP3. Active window becomes inactive, no clicks, then becomes active after 5-10 seconds.

I use XP Home Edition, SP3.  When I'm working in an active window (say, MS Word), the window has become suddenly idle for 5 to 10 seconds and then becomes active again.  Everyone knows about this problem?  I thought it might be a problem of Outlook and run the detect and repair command, but that did not help.

I had the same problem except that it was on Windows 7.  Well, it would not matter what OS is in my case.

Symptoms: Everything seemed normal until I opened Outlook 2007 and had messages in my Inbox.  Once the messages have arrived in my Inbox outlook began to lose his accent all ~ 5 seconds. I would try to compose an email and he would lose his orientation (became inactive) for about 3-5 seconds then it would possibly come crazy me backwards.

Solution: Open the the Task Manager and sorted in addition to the processor.  Open outlook and left he opened in such a way that I would be able to display the Task Manager and Outlook-by-side.  Click outlook so that it had the focus.  With outlook open, I started noticing that whenever he would lose his focus a process called TMAS_OS.exe jump upward.  I searched my computer for the file "TMAS_OS.exe" and found its location in Trend new application called "Titanium".  Apparently, it is associated with a software component plug-in 'purchase of Outlook outlook extension support?' and it seemed to go nuts.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app and now everything is fine.  It drove me crazy and it was the first time that the trend has never made me heartache.

UPDATE: the issue made ugly reappeared the next day.  Apparently, initial installation, antispam behaves but on reboot antispam titanium going nuts once more.  It may be an incompatibility between the add-in (AntiSpam) TMA of trend microphones for Outlook 2007 running on a Windows7 64-bit operating system?

For now I have disabled the supplement product TMA Titanium Internet Security 2011 trendmicro until they found a solution.  I'll just have to idetify and deal with any spam myself.

To turn off the snap TMA:

    1. close Outlook, and then open the main console for Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security
    2. click on the 'Settings' button at the bottom
    3. click on 'Internet & Email orders' on the left
    4. click on 'Spam' on the left
5 uncheck "Filter unsolicited advertisements and other unwanted e-mail messages" > apply > OK
    6. exit the main Console

You can check THAT TMA is disabled:
    1. open Outlook
2 tools > Trust Center > click on Add-ins > on the bottom, make sure that the ' Manage: ' drop-down list is set to "COM Add-ins" and click on the "..." button. "> Search FRO"TMA"must be unchecked

That's what I get when I open Ventrilo. Any suggestions on where to find the driver, I need to get this working?

    Hello Reetz,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Vista Community Forums.

    1. ensure that your audio drivers are correctly installed and up-to-date.
    2. in some cases, the drivers are properly installed and the error persists, open teamspeak, go into the settings menu and open the 'Options '.
    3. in the "Sound Devices" tab, change the audio of 'Wave' driver if it was set to 'Direct3dSound' and change to "Direct3dSound" if it has been set to 'Wave' and then press 'Ok '. Close teamspeak and reopen it.

You can also browse the links for more information on ventrilo and try to contact them if the problem persists.

Also, follow the steps below to check if the Microphone is properly configured and enabled in Vista.

Step 1: Test of an audio signal
    1. click on start, then Control Panel.
    2. click on hardware and sound and then click on manage audio devices...
    3. click on the recording tab.
    4. to test the microphone, speak into it. To test the line, send a signal to the line at the port of devices audio source (press play on the audio player). Look at the gray bars next to the name of the device under the recording tab:
    * If the gray bars next to the device name turns green, this device is active and an audio signal is passed through the microphone or line-in port. This step shows that this problem is related to sound parameters in the software that uses the microphone. If you have not already done so, set the device selected by default and adjust levels. Once the device is set by default and levels are defined, use and adjust the sound recording or voice carrying software.
    * If the gray bars remain inactive and grey, the device does not have a signal. Leave the record open tab and go to the next step.

Step 2: Check the volume levels and mute
The volume of the speaker to the microphone and line - in may be activated or rejected. Use the following steps to check the volume of speaker for line and microphone levels.
    1. click on start and then click Control Panel.
    2. click on hardware and sound.
    3. click on sound.
    4. Select speakers, and then click Properties.
    5. click on the levels tab.
    6. click the button mute Microphone and on any other line that is cut.
    7. use the slider to increase the micro level and each line at least 75.
    8. click on OK.

Step 3: Update the audio drivers
You can see a front-end port microphone does not work, a recording device is missing in the recording tab, a microphone is not recognized when it is plugged in, or any other problem. There may be updates audio drivers that can solve this kind of problem. Use the following steps to ensure that the audio drivers are up to date.
    1. connect to the Internet.
    2. click on start and enter the Device Manager in the start search field.
    3. click on the plus sign next to sound, video and game controllers.
    4. right click on the name of the sound material and select software update of the driver...
    5. click on search automatically for a driver updated and wait for Windows to update the driver software.
6 Windows checks a remote Web site to see if the update of the driver software is available.
    * If an update is available, let Windows install the update.
    * If an update is not available, proceed to the next step.
    7. once the update is successfully installed, test the microphone or line like that was made in step 1. If the problem persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Configuration of Windows registry settings
By default, Windows Vista automatically activates microphones and line-in ports. Use the following steps to set the microphone/line-in port to be the default port and configure the logging levels.
    1. If the recording in the Audio window tab is not selected, open the sound and click the recording tab and make sure the State is defined as below.
a - port micro - work and set as default
    b - line In - work
    c - Digital (S/PDIF port) In - work
d stereo Mix (mixer software) - disabled
    2. If several microphones or line - in ports are available, select the port you want to use. Click on set as default to make this device default audio input device.
    3. If the device you want to use contains a small circle with an arrow pointing down, the device is disabled. To activate the device, right-click the device name, and then select activate.
    4. with the selected device, click Properties, and then click the levels tab.
    5. adjust the slider up to 75% of its range.
    6. If the mute is enabled, click the button mute to reactivate the device. The mute button should show as a blue speaker without any red circle.
    7. If the Microphone Boost is available, adjust and + 20.0 dB.
    8. click OK to make the changes.
    9. test the microphone as was done in step 1 to determine if Windows is able to detect a signal from the microphone or line used. If you have completed all the steps and the microphone or the source device still does not work, the audio ports or the computer's sound hardware can be bad.

If the problem persists, contact us return with details below?
1 microphone working on the computer at any time earlier?
    2. Since when are you facing the issue?
    3. don't you make changes to the computer until this problem occurred?

    Hey guys,.

    What should I do?

    Hi yassena,

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows forum.

I suggest you all to first download and install Windows 7 driver compatibility.  Check your drivers in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx to check if your audio drivers for hp dv6000 are compatible.

The drivers for your hp dv6000 seem not to be compatible with Windows 7 and this is why I suggest you to download the Windows Vista Compatible drivers from: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=1842155 and running Windows Vista compatibility mode.

You can also try to adjust the default microphone and check under the sounds in the recording tab.

  • Is it possible to reinstall or reset the internal microphone of an iMac?

    Some background information:

27 "iMac 5K (end of 2015) running OS X El Capitan (when the problem started), to give birth to Sierra of MacOS. Also have a Bootcamp with Windows installed 10 partition.

A month ago, when under OS X, I noticed the internal mic produced some static when you try to use it. Audio messages in voicemails would be static instead of my voice. The weird part? If I switched to Windows 10, the internal microphone works without any problem. I can ask questions of Cortana, I can record voice messages and they read without static electricity. In fact, no matter what I use the microphone internal to in Windows, it works perfectly.

Sierra of MacOS is out, so I hope that this update may be a BONE would settle the matter. Nope. Internal microphone still does not work on MacOS, but still works perfectly in Windows 10. It is because of this that I am positive the internal MIC is not broken or have a loose wire.

I went through a few steps to try and fix the internal microphone, such as resetting the SMC... but nothing has worked. Any help or ideas on how to solve this problem would be greatly greeted.

    Hello dear user

Thank you to use Apple support communities

My recommendation would be to take it to an official Apple store, workers are espceialists, they might be able to fix, make sure also that you have never removed the water on top of the mic. In my iPad, a drop of water directed the music video of speaker if she never exceeds 30% volume of the music.

But if you don't have a store nearby, uninstall malware and unnecessary software, make sure that you don't have a program that allows you to change your sound (like Skype) systems, if you don't do that this program has no impact on your microphone. (I used to have Skype but it also makes audio cut so terrible, piano music sounded like heavy metal music, so heavy metal music was like to...) I don't know what to say.)

I had my 42mm gray space Apple Watch sports since October 2015, and it's been great. Despite a few necessary re-cuttings in early 2016, the aircraft was a total pleasure.
