• Inactivity timer T400 questions?

  I seem to have an interesting problem with my T400, which seems to have developed in the last few hours or more. Whatever the settings in the power management or power of Win7 settings, my screen invariably cut to one or two minutes of idle time, whether on battery or AC. I find it extremely annoying and try to tackle this problem. Has anyone come across this and managed to fix it?

  I've never seen this problem, but you are sure that you do not have stretch activated battery and do not have a screen saver with just a black screen placed 1 min? Also, you have correctly applied the power plan? And of course you are talking about the internal display on the laptop, not an external monitor?

  Did you change for a few hours like software installation, change the settings of system of som or anything at all?

  Just guessing here for some reasons possible and really have no idea why this happen.

• With the help of an inactivity timer

  I searched the forums for timer tips and tricks and much I tried using some suggested code - I can't quite it works in my particular project.
  
  I have a Flash presentation set up for our reception area. It consists of a looped clip that is similar to a screensaver and double as a "WELCOME" sign (I have a text input script that puts visitors to the building within the 'screensaver' day). The presentation will also have various sections navigable user explaining the history of the company, product lines, staff etc.
  
  I want is that when the user has finished exploring sections of company and he not there no mouse activity for a defined period (say 5 minutes) of anywhere in the entire line / the time of presentation, that Flash will jump to the framework of the "screen saver".
  
  Can anyone recommend a simple way to do this, and this includes a 'mouse-watch' on every static image script? I come from a design background, not programming, so if you can help, please explain in simple terms the script!

• Satellite L30 - display off after will point

  After that my laptap wakes up after hibernation display does not cut after the specified inactivity time.
  Instead, it empties but is still lit.
  Before hibernation, the automatic display stops ok.

  Any suggestions on a fix would be appreciated.

  In Windows 7, selective-> settings-> USB USB Power Options suspend décor, that means "USB selective suspend" mean?  In addition, because there is only one parameter, why do we say "USB settings" instead of "USB"parameter?

  A USB device driver can send a message to windows by saying to the inactivity of the device.  This puts the device in a low power state (sleep state).  When a USB device is suspended, windows does not wait so he could answer before entering a sleep or hibernation.  If you disable this feature, the system will simply return a failure to the driver when the driver tries to enter suspended state.  If the driver complies with the guidelines from Microsoft, it will just raise demand slowed down at each end of the inactivity timer.

  I installed Windows 7 64 bit in my desktop pc with new SATAII HDD.  After that, my PC doen't go to sleep mode, even if it is left idle for 10 hours.  I can hear the fan always on the move.  It stops just the display, and when I move the mouse and the screen turned on again, it is found to block just off the coast.   I activated the power management option, and it seems that the setting is good forcing sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity time PC.  The power management option applies only to the laptop?  It's my PC spec:

  Unfortunately, you cannot exclude a CMOS battery for bad/failure on a question like that until replace you it in fact. The good news however, is that they are very inexpensive and easy to replace.

  You can set up a timer of inactivity, but it will control ALL the lights and not only the ones keyboard (you won't be able to do with just for the lighting of the keypad)

  To do this, follow the steps below:

  • Right-click on the head of alien to the system tray.

  You must delete all port security settings before you enable dot1x on a port, these two functions do not work well together.

• Newbie Pix 501 HTTP authentication timeout

  two issues here:

  1. users that connect to the Internet through the Pix 501 ask about every three minutes to enter their user name and password. There must be a setting to change this, my dealer said there is no.

  2. users that connect to the Internet, the first time have their IE session. By clicking Stop and then refresh or House brings to the top of the page. Any ideas.

  Jeff,

  First rule is to never trust your seller on technical issues;). Your dealer is wrong. You can indeed change the moment where a user is re - you are prompted to enter their credentials. There are basically 2 parameters, you need to know about the pix regarding delays of authentication:

  (1) the inactivity timer. It's just like that. It expires an authenticated session via the PIX to hit X amount of time without all the traffic. The default timer on the PIX for this setting is 0, which means that we are no period of inactivity by the user (by default) monitor.

  (2) the absoltue timer. Again, is to noise. This timer starts as soon as the user is authenticated and works continuously. When the time is reached, the user is obliged to to re-authenticate when they try to start a new connection (for example, by clicking a link in a web page). The default setting for the absolute timer is 5 minutes.

  We recommend that you do not keep an absolute clock set for security purposes, but for ease of access, you can change these settings. Something like that would not be a 'off the wall' setting:

  timeout uauth 01:00 absolute uauth 0: idle from 10:00

  These settings will force the user to to re-authenticate every hour (absolute) or every 10 minutes after the connection becomes inactive.

  And finally, no idea about #2 above. It happens with all users. Anyone who has tried to Netscape to see if it is a question only IE?

• Smartphone blackBerry Storm performance issues (and suggestions)

  I want to start and say that I don't like my phone.  When it works (which is most of the time), it works fine.

  But there are certainly problems of software.  As a software engineer, the OS has some memory serious management problems.  This seems to cause most of the problems I'm having with the phone.  I'm running the latest Verizon S/W (v4.7.0.148).

  Problem #1:

  I am a paranoid person.  There are a lot of personal information on my phone, I have currently international calls helped that I need this feature.  So to protect me my phone is locked when it is the case or after a period of inactivity time.  It is a good practice.  Part of the draw to the fate of the Blackberry is the security that you can configure on the device (I'm not paranoid enough to allow all the protections of encryption - yet).  Problem of the storm is that it can take 1 to 5 minutes to get the phone unlocked when unholstering.  It is not an exaggeration.  As the performance of the memory gets worse, time takes more time.  If I had to make an emergency call, it could be the difference between life and death.  5 minutes is a long time to wait to call 911.  This must be corrected!

  Problem #2:

  The phone must be "reset" once a day to remember "lost."  It is just poor programming.  I don't know if this problem of BB OS or Apps I'm running, but in both cases, this isn't fair.  After the reboot if I go to the display of memory under options I could have about 3-5 MB of free memory.  After a few hours of use, this will almost always '0 '.  I installed MemoryUp Pro, which seems to have extended the period of time between the battery grips, but I still don't think we should ask all owners of BB Storm to pull there battery once a day.  The other answer I get is "do not run so many Apps.  I get all my applications when finished.  Are the only ones that I continue to turn: Blackberry Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk and Google Maps (Latitude).  Other applications running, you can't get out (phone, browser).  I tried doesn't work is not the 'optional' tricks and performance has not really much better.

  Problem #3:

  Missed calls.  This is probably related to problems of memory above, but if the storm can be used as a phone, then I should buy something else.  Although the occurrence of this problem has gone down because I installed MemoryUp Pro and perform the reset once a day, sometimes still about 1 to 5 times.  It takes so long for the phone to 'wake up' when a call comes in (especially if it is holstered), at the time where I hit "Answer", a call has been Messaging voice or even worse, the phone doesn't ring at all.  All I get is a notification of appeal lacks the 'unknown number '.

  Problem #4:

  Battery performance could be improved.  The battery that comes with the storm has about 24 hours on 24 with the Radio and Bluetooth.  Really, this isn't a problem if you know it.  I solved the problem by buying a 2700 mAh battery for extended life of BoxWave I use when traveling.  Makes the storm bit bulky, it will give me 2-3 days of life.  I don't know how this could be improved if not

  I hope that the developers of RIM are trying to solve some of these performance issues.  Certain tasks should be a higher priority as they seem to have (like phone & Unlock).

• Dissociated MAC Client timeout

  G ' Day all,

  Can anyone tell if I am able to change the time it takes for a MAC address is allowed out of the WLC customers dissociated. Clients on the interface page graphic it looks to be about 5 minutes so I think it is 300 seconds as the clock of arp table standard. I would change it if possible.

  Here's why:

  I have a wireless network that uses ISE to the machine authentication and posture of wireless devices. If a customer dissociates and re - partner without going through the entry of the client in the empty manually, WLC NAC agent don't postural again the wireless device.

  This seems to be the entry of the client in the WLC is in a RUNNING State, so if the re-associates, the last known state is RUN, then he joined just the customer upwards and the posture of the NAC is not finished.  This is a reproducible behavior.

  If the customer dissociates and clear manually the customer to enter the WLC, the customer may re-associate and focuses, as expected.

  I need to be able to configure this solution so that whenever the client is associated, regardless of the speed with which he associated after dissociation, the posture of the NAC process occurs.

  To remove the client from the executing State, the timer of the session or the idle timer expires.  The inactivity timer is usually what happens to expire first.  The default value for the inactivity timer is also 300 seconds.

• Why do I need to select the next button twice to move forward in my quiz

  I have a number of true/false and multiple choice questions in this project.  The user still has 2 attempts to get the correct answer with your comments.  When they are done with the question they are asked to select the button "next".  Selecting the next button does not advance the slide of the first time well.  You must always select a second time.  I played with adjust active and inactive times on the timeline, but that doesn't seem to have anything to do with it.  Remove the 'next' button is not an option at this stage because it is mentioned in the audio commentary for each answer to each question. Any ideas?

  If you insert a slide of questionnaire based on the model of default slides, normal stacking order is that the next button is below the Clear key. Maybe you had already removed the Clear button? Try to use Arrange to change the stacking order.

  You do not click the next button twice, you must click the button submit once, then press on Y or click the slide. If the suspension point is far from the end of the slide, it will take a while, if actions are left to "continue". Change the point to pause to be near the end of the slide.
