Incorrect filename in Windows Media Player

Original title player: media
In the media the wrong file name, the Player library appears to many of my pictures for example SONY DSC not The Cedars 2009 001. This can be corrected?

Hello

1. which version of the operating system you are using on the computer?

2. don't you make changes on the computer before the show?

Method 1:
Run the fix it and check.

Solve the problems of Windows Media Player video and other media or library
http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/
Method 2:
There could be several reasons why the Windows Media Player 12 library is corrupted. For example, another application installed might have caused conflict with the database folder or its contents.
Step 1:
If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files.
To do this, follow these steps:
a. exit Windows Media Player.
b. Click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.
c. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
d. restart Windows Media Player.
Step 2:
I would recommend you to rebuild the database of Windows Media Player and see if the problem is resolved.
Here's how:
To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
a. exit Windows Media Player.
b. Click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click OK.
c. Select all files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
d. restart Windows Media Player.
Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database

Method 3:
If the problem persists, you can uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player and check:
You can try the following steps and check if it solves the problem:
a. Click Start and select Control Panel.
b. click on programs and features.
c. click on Turn Windows features on the left side on or off.
d. develop media features; Uncheck Windows Media Player.
e. click Yes click OK to continue.
f. restart the computer.
WMP12 would be uninstalled now. Restart the computer.
Note: If WMP12 is already disabled, follow the steps mentioned below:
After the restart, follow these steps:
a. Click Start and select Control Panel.
b. click on programs and features.
c. click on Turn Windows features on the left side on or off.
d. develop media features; Check the Windows Media Player.
e. click Yes click OK to continue.
f. restart the computer.
This would be re - install Windows Media Player 12.

I started a homegroup on my computer.  I added another computer to the homegroup.  Everything worked fine until I had to perform a system recovery on the laptop that I used to start the homegroup.  I implemented the homegroup again, but I can't access the files on the other computer via Windows Media Player.  I get an error message that says "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. • Windows Media Player incorrectly displays Photo DVD

Whenever I am watching a DVD on WMP the entire image doesn't appear on the screen. It's normal display size or full screen that I choose but its almost like if the image is enlarged. I also noticed that to click on the menu options of DVD rather than the buttons being where the words on the screen are they are an inch or so off the coast on the side.

    Help, please

    Hi Obecný,

This happens with any particular DVD?

    1 reduce display settings:

    a. Click Start, click Run and then type desk.cpl in the Open box. Or, right-click an empty area of the desktop and then click Properties.

    b. on the settings tab, move the slider to 800 X 600 screen resolution.

    c. Select 16-bit for the color quality, and then click OK.

    d. some display drivers can support playback of DVD at higher resolutions and color depths. If this solution works, using a driver updated, you can read the DVD at higher color depths and resolutions.

    2. try to reduce the video hardware acceleration in Windows Media Player:

In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options.

In the performance, under video acceleration tab, move the slider more close votes to zero, and then click OK.

If this allows to read DVDs in fullscreen, it indicates that there is a problem with your graphics card or driver. It may be possible to obtain an updated driver from the manufacturer of the display adapter.

  • Windows Media Player display incorrect or old titles of songs in the playlist

What should I do to get Windows Media Player to display the same names as the title of the songs stored on my computer.  I carefully added numbers on the beginnings of all the names of files in a folder (such as '01 -', '02 -', etc., less the quotes) so that they would be in the order I wanted to burn in.  Instead, only some of the songs are numbered.  The One song title is spelled "Untitled - 1", and I guarantee you he NEVER had this title, as I wrote.  When I add songs to the playlist of the folder on my data disc, for a fraction of a second, all the correct names are there, and then they change.  What the hell's up with that?  All I want is for the names of the files to display AS I WANT to BE AFFICHENT THEM, only not just some silly idea at Microsoft from what should be displayed.  In addition, the order that they are placed is almost always random and varies from one time to another.  Once when I added the twenty songs to the playlist that they were in good condition, although of course the names were wrong.  I checked the Options and could find nothing that would be implemented 'display the names of files in the folder.  Is this some sort of media internet update issue?

    Hi David...

Re - reading the thread I think your best option is to burn the troublesome track on a CD (as mentioned in my previous post - you use a rewritable if possible) If for example the track in question is for example issue 05 titles 1-5 of disc Records and then remove the media * and Explorer libraries (but keep a backup elsewhere just in case) - give the tracks all the correct information and rip them off then back libraries.

If this still him - could put you up a snip of the incriminated 'details' track properties tab? Cheers - Ric.

    * Important - deleted WMP (or select "remove from library and computer" when you are prompted in WMP)
