Incorrect identification of CS6 installed as counterfeit

Hi all

I'll first say that this post is not about a problem that must be fixed (the software has been installed and works very well).

I use CS6 Production Premium, which was bought for me by my University.  I used it since 2013 without having encountered any real problems.  Because I move the computers and reinstall my OS from time to time for various reasons, I had to disable and enable CS6 repeatedly.  I reinstalled still using the original installation media from Adobe.

I was doing one of these new facilities by the end of 2015, when I ran into a problem, I had never encountered before: after having my key and ID Adobe accepted (a message indicates that everything was valid), I received a warning of counterfeit.  I was very surprised and worried by this warning, so I tried to install again after erasing everything using the cleaning tool, and everything went fine.  Because it was a fresh install of the OS and I wanted not just any folder installation failed on my machine, I wiped the hard drive again and installed the OS and the CS6 from scratch.  Everything worked well this time as well.

And yet the situation as a whole has continued to bother me, that's why I write these questions here.

  1. What kind of situation causes CS6 wrongly self-identify as counterfeit?  He seems to have occurred to many people.  Is this a problem with the activation/deactivation too often?  Or is it to do with dust on the installation DVD?
  2. This raises a false flag on the corresponding Adobe ID by mistake?  I want to assure you that there is no mark on my account on the side of Adobe.
  3. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this from happening with the future activations?

Thank you

Jim

Hi Jim,.

Sorry for the late reply. To answer your questions:

  1. This happens usually if the installation is corrupted somehow. There are a number of reasons why this can happen, but in the end, you did exactly the right thing by uninstalling, clean and reinstall.
  2. Don't worry; This raises a false flag with Adobe.
  3. Make sure that your disc is clean and scratch free. If not, of the thoughts forward to digital

I am happy that you were able to get your CS6 works again. Happy creating!

Best,

Del
