Increase control of the façade of a trigger button in the Loop Simulation

I want the 'Index' control to automatically increment when you press the OK button. It works very well. However, the control of the Index gets automatically incremented whenever the VI is started and when you press the Stop button. Even if the box Structure is wired with a constant False (which means that it must never be run), control of the Index is still incremented.

Is there a bug when using local variables within the structures of the case in the Simulation loop? This does not occur when you use a while loop.

I think that since a loop of Simulation has no shift registers, you will need to use a feedback node.

I have NO experience using simulation loops, just trying to help.

See the example attached to see what I mean.

  • PtbyPt filter FIR in the Loop Simulation

    Hello

Currently, I am trying to simulate the power in my engine when I apply a voltage step for 20 MS for that I intend to use a FIR filter in the control and simulation module that simulates the other parts of the engine.

However, I have found that the FIR filter seems to be strange behavior. When I change the order of Runge-Kutta 1 simulation to 2 of Runge-Kutta it effects the output of the filter FIR PtbyPt VI. The two attached images show how the results of the convolution of the IR and the tension, the FIR outside the simulation loop filter and FIR filter in a loop using Runge-Kutta 1 are the same. However, the second image shows that the FIR filter in the loop simulation Runge-Kutta 2, has a different answer.

Why does this happen? As I understand it, the type of simulation should have little effect on the application of a FIR filter based on pt by pt. I have not changed the timestep or other parts of the simulation. I want to use a simulation of order higher than for other parts of Runge-Kutta 1 would be insufficient for the simulation.

    I'm using LabVIEW 2011 SP1.

    Thank you

When you try to use RK-2 or higher order, the screw that dumped you inside the control and the Simulation loop, by default, they will all run in the "minor" time steps too. In your case, 'two times' which means the VI will be executed each time step.

To properly configure these screws, you must "right click" on the VI and select "Installation of the Sub - VI node. This will bring to a Setup page that the second half you will choose in 'Type of Simulation Subvi execution' to 'remove' the "Include minor steps" box and press OK. When you do this, the Sub - VI will be annotated on the upper right with blue 'C' and when you run, it should provide a similar result as RK-1.

Note that in this dialog box, you can also select discreet, which, in many cases, it is the right selection for 'discrete' systems

    I hope this helps...

  • Event case + while loop (the controls inside the loop will not be updated)

Ok. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

But when I press Start, I can't move the slider control.

    All the obvious errors here?

Your event is set to lock the front until the end of the event. This means that you are in a bind, because the event cannot be completed until the button is pressed, which can happen because the FP is locked.

Quick "bandaid fix" would be to uncheck this option in the configuration of the event. Not recommended!

You should never place interactive code within the structures of the event. Restructure your code accordingly. See state machines, for example.

  • Simulation does not stop in the Loop Simulation & control

I'm working on a settlement in a loop of control & Simulation. I created a State space model and an inside observer.

Now, I've implemented nearlly all, but now the simulation does not stop.

First here is a picture of the .vi when it still works:

But this isn't the end result, I want to have.

I want to connect the output of the subtrahation (2 x - y) at the entrance to the exterior product.

You can see from the image below:

If I do, my continious simulation and never stops. The simulation time is always set to 10 sec.

The .vi is attached. I hope someone can help me.

I don't understand your suggestion. I've set up a node of your comments, but this does not solve the problem.

But I found another solution to the problem. I build the .vi completely new and used the arithmetic of the design group Signal and control Simulation. The gain block and the summation block works better in my case that digital add and multiply the blocks. Now, the tracks of the simulation and the regulation works well.

  • Update the controls on the front panel producer consumer

    Hello

I wanted to ask you a few tips.

Usually, when I implemented a consumer producer I use producer to create items from queue whose state of the enum and pack all the necessary data in the process of the event in a Variant.

Then the consumer does all the work.

There are two areas where I feel that I could not be using the best approaches...

    (1) when I need to update a control on front panel I Pack a reference to this control on front panel in the variant in order to access the property nodes in the consumer and to update.

I have attached photos with an example. It's simplified code where the user must perform a task of data acquisition in the analysis of certain parameters. The code increases the setting of a fixed amount to each race to help the user in its sweep.

Is there a best way to do this?

    (2) when events require the same control to be plugged into the variant for the handling of the loop of consumer I create local variables or references to this control to other events. Would it be better to have a registry change that crosses the loop producer which gets updated values of façade at each time the loop iteration?

    Thank you.

Because you use a loop of events such as the producer, I would use user events to update your controls.  This way you are not circulate references just to set/update a control.  You can make a user event and handle this event with the structure of your event.  Your client sends just the event with all the necessary data.  I found this configuration really useful since it retains all the GUI code centralized in a single loop.

  • How to make non-visible control on the Front Panel appear at Design time?

I have a few controls on the front whose visibility is changed (on or off) at run time. The problem is that if I stop the Run time, the visibility of the control remains in the running in design mode state. So I am not able to see or find the control to make changes in design mode.

How can I make all the visible front-panel controls, or find and make it visible to a control on the front whose visibility has False?

    Thank you.

It is documented in the help of LabVIEW.

    Hidden front panel display

Perform the following steps to display a hidden front control or indicator. You can also hide the indicators and controls on the front panel.

    1. Find the terminal block schema for the object. "If you have multiple devices with the same type of data, right click on the terminals and select visible elements" Label in the context menu. Find the object with the label that corresponds to the object hidden façade.

    2. Right-click in the Terminal, and then select Show Control context menu if the object is a control or indicator to show if the object is an indicator.

You can also use the Visible property to display the controls and indicators by program.

You can also view all hidden front panel controls and indicators.

Path: Fundamentals-> build the façade-> how-to--> configure the objects-> display on front panel of the façade hidden object.

  • Double digital precision control using the D:H:M format has problem increment/decrement

I have a VI that allows users to define the range of dates in a control, and it does not work as it should.  Specifically, the control is the standard digital control of the modern palette, this is the data type is Double, and it is in the format % <%D:%H:%M> t.  The problem is that when I have the cursor in the hours (two digits highlighted), when I use the keyboard keys arrow up and down or buttons increase/decrease control, instead of the increment or decrement, the minutes.  When I have the cursor over the days, the inc/dec intervenes on the hours.  Has no way to increase/decrease the days in the control either.  In addition, if the cursor the cursor in the line rather than a selection, changing values are the values to the right of the cursor on the line - even the opposite of the features of LabVIEW with other digital formats.

In addition, the left-right arrow keys won't move the selection / cursor in the control, except to spend hours to days - no other movement is possible.

Is this a known issue?  I'm the see in 2010 SP1 and LV LV 2012

I have attached a VI composed solely of misconduct control.

In addition, I tried digital controls system palettes, classic and Express and they do the same thing (or worse).

I guess at this point, I'll need to use separate controls for each field, the event handlers for the arrows, etc., but the complexity which adds is almost painful.  If anyone has another idea, I'm all ears.

    Thank you,

    Erik

took an hour and built a work around for the problem.  No was not as bad as I thought originally that are curious differences between the Terminal command, local variables and value - namely, the Value property is the value after the event, while others have the value of pre-event for the control.  This always works for my application.

This version is in LV 2010 SP1, which is as far as I can go.

  • no active controls on the front after sub vi opens

    Hello

I have a little difficulty with my VI.

I run a sub my main façade of VI VI.

The sub VI opens, but when it is closed all of the controls on the front of my main VI is no longer active (buttons etc. not clickable).

I put counters on the iteration of loop terminals so I can see that the program is still ongoing, some controls no longer work.

Someone has encountered this before and offer all the solutions?

Thnaks for the research, I appreciate it!

    See you soon,.

Sorry sub VI is located in the loop of the selection of the files offline at the bottom of the block diagram.

After playing with it for hours last night, I seem to have sorted by deselecting the option "front lock Panel" starting from the properties of structure of event!

  • How to show or hide a control on the front

Hi all, I review the code to someone else, and a control at the front panel seems to be hidden until click you on an item to display. I tried to use right click in front panel and it did not work by clicking something bound to show or hide. Since I did not quite familiar with property nodes, this hidden parameter can be linked to it.

In the photo, it shows the façade and its two property nodes, could someone advise me how to change the setting to show this control? Thank you!

    Hey.

Is that what you are looking for...

The Visible property to set the option above by programming.  If you want it to, you need wire a real constant itself.

    Hello world

  • Controls on the front panel does not work

In the attached vi (I've stripped down to simplify things), I have a problem with the controls on the front panel does not when you click on the control to acquire it. It of probably something obvious but got me to loss.

    Thank you

It is probably because you are in the State to acquire until you're done absorbing.  Meanwhile, none of your other events can run.  You have events to acquire: let the mouse.  There is a setting for "Panel before locking up the end of the occurrence of the event.  Given that the event cannot process until your State acquisition is completed, the façade will be locked.

I would recommend another loop for the acquisition of your data.

  • Outsourcing of the controls on the front panel for a panel floating Subvi

    Hello!

I already found a few similar topics, but I still don't know which is the best way to solve my problem. I will try to describe my problem in detail first: I have a main VI that acquires data from a device and displays these data in a large waveform graph. I have also a few controls on the front panel to control my device. First, I placed all of these device controls (digital, sliders, etc.) as well as the chart inside the front of my main VI. However, due to limited screen space now I would like to make the largest possible graph and so decided to "outsource" some controls out of the main façade of VI to several panels front-end Subvi.

I would then press a button in my main VI and it would open the Panel before the floating of the Sub - VI corresponding with outsourced controls when required. However, everything must be absolutely transparent. It is important that floating panels to run in parallel with my main VI, that is the main VI must continue to operate. That way I'll have my data constantly updated in the chart in my main VI while I can change some settings of the device through the controls placed in my SubVIs. These changes will be immediately applied (for example as soon as the main VI calls this slot - VI in its main loop).

It is important to the visibility of the outsourced optional control panel, i.e. If the Subvi front panel opens with the user that it will pop up and the user will be able to change the paramers device using the. But then the user should be able to close the front panel (hide) the Subvi to see the entire chart again without the Panel floating in front of her (of course control values must be maintained when the Subvi front is not visible). Then the new button is pressed in the main VI that opens the dialog box not modal Subvi containing controls and it can redefine new values of device.

Advice how to do this are welcome. I don't know if I need something complex like VI server or asynchronous screws or I can solve my problem by changing some settings simple Subvi? Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards

    Anguel

How about using a global variable for the VI at VI communication instead of a queue?

A global variable will, also.  Write you in one place and read the value frequently to somewhere else (in the election). So you can see easily to any value change.  However, mark will waste a lot of time processor.  This is why I have proposed to use a queue or a notification utility.

    AStankov wrote:

Would be the last option that you mentioned, i.e. finish the Subvi at each change of value, I would keep the Subvi front open as needed until things from the user to hide? Or would there be inevitable flickering Panel or any other drawbacks?

Yes, the Subvi can keep the façade open until the user closes. And there should be no flickering.  The biggest drawback I see right now is that when you expect an event in the Subvi, the mainVI cannot stop without talking to the Subvi to stop.  So you'll need another channel of communication (again a global, a queue, a declarant or an event) to tell the Subvi that she must stop.

On top of your LabVIEW façade, there is a button that looks like two arrows going in a circle.
Select the control, and then press "Send backward".
