InDesign - export to PDF as trim size?

I'm still new in InDesign, so I don't know if I can use it to do what I want.

I just use InDesign to create a pdf ready to print to send to printing to our comic strip, which includes the lost funds 1/4 ".  I was wondering if I could use the same InDesign file and export to another pdf file that does not include the lost funds, aka the trim size.  This version would be used for distribution in digital mode... web, eReaders, etc..

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you!

Sure... not turn off bleeding in dialog export.

  • InDesign, export to PDF (print) add white text?

    Hello

    I work with a document in InDesign (latest version cc) and I'm trying to print to PDF for printing.  When I export as Adobe PDF (Print), the text comes out with a white highlight that isn't in the original file (see photo below).  This problem occurs only with the export to pdf option. print directly to PDF or export to jpg, it doesn't happen.  Can anyone shed light on what is happening here?

    This is the text exported as PDF (in block letters):

    Same file printed directly in PDF format:

    Yes, it seems that there are two layers. The back layer has a stroke and no fill. Open it in Illustrator:

  • Graphics in InDesign export to PDF pixelated

    I throw a piece of paper, containing a few announcements, stories and features. The ads and the following functions are linked INDD files and contain text and images related to PDF formats, HAVE and PSD.

    I recently acquired CS6. From this point, when I export the project in PDF, many of these linked graphics appear and print badly pixelated. Convert graphics EPS, however, solves the problem: the graphics look good in the PDF. While converting all the EPS graphics would solve the problem, it would be a lot of work that I would rather avoid, if possible.

    The question seems to be in my settings or a corrupted installation, because when I package for the project and send it to a friend, it can export to PDF format without any problem. I do not believe, however, that I changed all the default settings, and we use the same export presets.

    I export my PDF of such as 'Adobe PDF (Print),' using the preset 'press [quality]. I use Win 7 Home.

    Any ideas short of reinstalling? Thank you for advice or suggestions.

    A jpg made from a PDF file on my machine:

    The same image, packaged and sent to my friend, who exported them with the same settings. JPG did the same method as the previous one:

  • InDesign export to PDF without opening all the files?

    Is it possible to do the following WITHOUT actually opening an InDesign file?

        // Open, Export, & Close
        for (x = myFileAmount;x >= 0; x--) {
            app.open(File(myFolderContents[x]));

            numHyperlinks += createHyperlinks();

            app.activeDocument.exportFile(
            ExportFormat.pdfType, File(myFolder.fsName + "/" + app.activeDocument.name.split(".indd")[0] + ".pdf"), false, myPreset);
            app.activeDocument.close(SaveOptions.no);
        }

    Thank you!

    You can read a book without opening it?

    What you can do, is not not to display the document. Just make sure you close all active documents.

    // Open, Export, & Closefor (x = myFileAmount ;x >= 0; x--) {    app.open(File(myFolderContents[x]),false);

        numHyperlinks += createHyperlinks();

        app.documents[0].exportFile(ExportFormat.pdfType, File(myFolder.fsName + "/" + app.documents[0].name.split(".indd")[0] + ".pdf"), false, myPreset);    app.documents[0].close(SaveOptions.no);}

    Hope that helps.

  • Export Indesign PDFs too big size

    Hello forums!

    I got stuck on a new problem. I work in Indesign, when I export to PDF, the pdf export files size is too large. I tried downsample when exporting to PDF, but does not reduce the size (even I choose pdf size smaller, but no luck). I have 33 images links in Indesign.

    Please help me how to do this... I know how to do with downsample, reduce the size in Acrobat, but this option doesn't help me at all.

    Hoping for your good advice...

    Thanking you in advance

    It sounds like you're using pictures eps links in Indesign. If so try to change to a different format as .png, .jpg, etc... and update the extension of links in Indesign PNG or jpg (to do this in Indesign, you must select all the images in criminal link and choose Relink file extension) and export your file and see what happens.

    Thank you

  • When I export to PDF from InDesign, my page size is higher than expected.

    I have an InDesign document with a page size of 8.5 "x 11".  There bleeding from. 125 "on each side.  When I export to PDF and look at the properties of the document, the page size is 9.33 "x 11.83".  I thought it would be 8.75 "x 11.25".  Why the page size par.83 instead de.25?

    Hmmm... can't reproduce here. Of course, including any kind of landmarks of the printer in the output increases the size of larger than the pad page + bleed, but as long as I have let everything under "Brand" unchecked by default and tick the check box use Document bleed settings under bleed and Slug, I get the 8.75 x 11.25 expected.

  • Export of CS5 file to PDF causes the size of the document to enlarge the PDF!

    I need help... QUICK! I have a calendar of 14 pages 4CP bleeding on three sides. The size of purge is 3/16 ", according to the requirements of the printer. When I export the file in InDesign to PDF format, the overall size of the page is increased by exactly 3/16 "! I almost missed it and approved the print job. Fortunately, I turned on the rules in the PDF to check all items on the page have been properly placed and do not fall on the crease. It is then that I discovered that objects that I had placed on a page spread in the crease and on the next page. I went back to my InDesign file and concluded that these items have been properly placed and did not extend to the fold, as they did in the PDF file. I tried different PPD files, export the file with and without reference to the printer... everything to nothing done. I finally printed the file to a Postscript (PS) file and then the file exported to PDF and managed to do the work. However, I prefer to avoid this extra step. What is going on? Why the file expands (as by chance the same EXACT amount that the purge has been set for) or what I am doing wrong? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Are you familiar with bleeding etc.?  i.e. have you used before?  Seems to me that if you are all mostly good but not realizing that Acrobat and Reader (please don't mention Mac preview) show the size including bleeding when you choose these options during export in Indesign.

    Go back and check the configuration of your document.  Page size must be just excatly that, over the size of the page.  Background settings lost (you might have to check more options to see) should be fair.  Export the PDF file, go to "benchmark and Fund lost ' tick 'Background settings lost use the Document' and you're done.  The document will appear bigger.

    Oh and use the button of the camera for the screenshots.

    You can see the actual progress of the size of the doc going > Print Production > culture Pages and switch between trimming area (the size of the page will get cut to) and CropBox (which includes the lost funds and that's what you see).

  • Was one of my PSD file placed in Indesign export to format PDF is small but the other is very large. WHY?

    Dear all,

    I am facing an unknown problem when I export the PDF file from indesign. I check around all the Images, I found that when some of the PSD files has been placed in indesign and exported to PDF format, the file size is very large. Please see the joint (large_size).  But some are normal, please see the joint (small_size). And you can see that the PSD file is no difference in Photoshop. And PDF output setting is the same, please see the other clip.

    What is the problem of the PSD file? Why the result is a huge different?

    large_size.png

    small_size.png

    Export PDF setting.png

    Really? If I open "S6_edge_gold 2.psd" and in the layers palette, right-click "Layer 1", "Duplicate layer", select New destination and save the new DSP, the DSP news is only 5.8 MB. Placed in an InDesign document and PDF export is no longer made a bloated file.

  • Export PDF in different size while maintaining hyperlinks

    Hello

    my client asked export document format A4 A5 size letter size (so the source A4). So I need 3 different exports of the schema source A4. It seems to me, that humans are capable of landing on the Moon, but resizing PDF seems to be much more complicated...

    1. I know that there is this option print in Id, where I can export PDFS in different size (why the hell that's not possible in the Export PDF dialog classic?). I tried, but this way of 'print' kills all my links created manually (about 800 of them in all of the document).
    2. I can change the document. But in the case of A4 > letter y at - it somehow how just increase the size of the artboard and keep the work without scales right in the Middle? (And keep hyperlinks, of course...)

    So my question is: how to export in different sizes and maintain hypertext links?

    Thank you!

    You can not.

    Never use print to create a PDF file, avoid postscript, which means no EPS, but also without the creation of Distiller or PDF by printing.

    It is said of Villa.

    If you create a PDF file via the export only you can use the URL. (Often URLS work in all cases such as Acrobat and Reader are detecting those automatically the text, but often not correct.)

    Normally, you can place an INDD or PDF/X-4 file exported in other INDD files links als, they are treated as PDF images. But images can never transfer the interactivity in InDesign when they are placed there. If you lose these Interactivities.

    But why your client will have live links in all sizes? The user will not open all sizes and use it on screen. I would recommend to strengthen links in the original which must be the version that gets the user on the screen. Other sizes can be done via the placement of the INDD or PDF/X-4 files (with bleed.)

    Is what you you should interest you, if you use a smaller file, your resolution should be at least the square root of 2 higher for each step you want to increase the file. Let's say the original is A4 and you want to jump up to the A3, you need 1.41 × 300 ppi or A2 will be 2 × 300pp. Conversely, when you place it in a smaller provision, you must increase the purge. If the bleeding is 3 mm in the original A4 and you want to place in an A5 available in A4 minimum purge must be 1.41 × 3 mm, with A6 2 × 3 mm. (for output you can use another bleeding in the export that you configured in the configuration of the document).

  • PDF, when 'real size' value seems different compared to 'Real size' Indesign.

    I'm working on a screen of 30 "(Windows 7)." The resolution of the display is 2560 x 1600.

    I'm trying to export a PDF from Indesign files for display on the screen. The Indesign document page size is set to 1280 x 800px. So, when I view the file Indesign to "REAL SIZE" it covers exactly half of my screen (horizontally speaking).

    Now when I export the Indesign file to pdf format. The pdf file when the value 'REAL SIZE' / size 100% appears much larger in size. On my screen it appears approximately 30% bigger. It covers more than half of my screen when it should be exactly half of my scree.

    Why is this and how I make appear the same size seen in "REAL SIZE" that is to say 100%? I mean it's the same monitor, so it should appear the same as seen on 'REAL SIZE' inside Indesign or 'REAL SIZE' inside the pdf?

    Adobe Bridge metadata to the pdf are properly listed as 1280 x 800.

    Please help because it drives me crazy!

    No, I don't speak for the resolution setting in Acrobat preferences.

  • Export to PDF does not know the document size settings?

    I have several documents InDesign CS4 and when I export them to PDF format changes in the size of the document.

    I put all the following options for A4 (210x297mm):

    In Indesign: File-> Document settings

    In Windows-> printers-> Adobe PDF settings-> paper size

    After export and open the document in Reader 9 size changed to 210 x 303.3 mm

    Then needs a tweak before the first draw.

    I should be able to export only to the production and they can print from the PDF file without checking the settings!

    What did I miss?

    You have lit page information. This will add to the size of the document in Acrobat.

  • Need help, cannot export a pdf from indesign cs5

    Hello I used indesign several times so that exported this work in 2015, I've updated this 36 page book this year and I can't export the pdf file, I get no error, the background window does not move, I have every time to leave indesign, I can export indd. as jpg but not my indesign file in a pdf print ready, any ideas? I don't do anything different than normal (I think), thank you so much Cindy

    What happens with any document or just this one?

    Here is another approach:

    Gather all your linked files and fonts help

    file-> package.

    and save it to another drive.

    Frome, open the indd file in the folder of the package and try to export PDFs.

  • 6 inDesign crashes when you export a PDF file

    I get the same report of crash for days, every time I try to export a PDF in InDesign CS6. I don't know what is happening with this particular file, but can I export other files without problem. I have deleted all links .indd and .ai and does not use the new fonts that won't export in other files. I tried to export single pages and the whole document, in different resolutions, and it crashes every time. I stuck my last report of accident here: INDESIGN 6 CRASH REPORT - Pastebin.com

    Export the file to IDML and open that.

    Note also that you must patch InDesign (help > updates) and CS6 is not taken in charge at 10.11.

  • The size of my document in In Design print in a different size when I export to PDF

    I made a document in In Design, which is 7x9.25' and it prints in the correct size when I print from In Design.  But when I export to PDF in Acrobat DC it prints more.  It prints to 8.5 x 11.  When I cut along the outline of the document, printing In Design is the exact size I want, but leave the PDF file, even after I cut along the outline, it is too much.  Is there a setting that I need to use in In Design before exporting to PDF print to the exact size that I created it in In Design?

    Thanks for your help!

    Angie

    In Acrobat, place your cursor in the lower left corner of the screen and it will show you what your document is about the size. If the size of the document is correct, then I guess that when you print from Acrobat, which you 'Fit' selected under Page size and handling in the print dialog box. Make sure that 'real size' is chosen, and which should print in the right size.
