Indicating the type of incorrect disc?

I did the following and I wondered why he always thin saus:

1 created a thin disk by gui

2. I ran vmkfstools-i file.vmdk d zeroedthick file1.vmdk

3 deleted vm file.vmdk

4. Add file1.vmdk to vm (by adding the vmdk it says that it is thick)

5. now change the settings the new drive said thin disc even though I know that its thickness.

Is - this default, or a bug?

Thank you

William

I did the exact process you mentioned in your message and has not experienced the problem you reported.  When I joined the new VMDK he reported as thickness when adding.  I clicked OK in the dialog box "Edit settings" who committed the VMDK Add.  I checked into "change settings" and it is always reported as thick.  I then proceeded to start the virtual machine to test and check the setting of the new - still thick.  I am running fully patched ESX and vCenter.

I have a photosmart c5180 all in one. I started having an error message, the incompatibility of paper. size of paper or type is incorrect. I used the same paper in the same place for years. I did everything I know how to fix.

    Any suggestions?

Normally, it is thanks to sensors of paper in the paper from the printer tray. If the paper sensors are dirty, damaged or blocked, then the printer will display a paper or paper Mismatch message.

There is a document in paper Mismatch questions located here.

  • "BOOTMGR is missing press ctrl + alt + del to restart" with this disc with recovery vista on it, but it still does not work. It could be the type of disc or something! NEED HELP PLEASE!

    Hello

Just the message keeps coming and coming. so I did what all seemed to be telling me to do, I downloaded this 'Windows Vista 32 - Bit (x 86) Torrent recovery disk' on a disk and put it in my computer, restarted and is come up with the same message, I thought I might need it again. So I did, Bam, same message. It might be the disk or something as I said, but I don't know! Its really annoying me now, please help!

Oh and I do not computer language can you please make it simple for me...

    Thank you!!

Here is the download of recovery for Vista instead of Windows7 drive: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/.  The thing is, I'm not sure you can use this drive for a boot recovery - you need an Installation of Vista disc.

If you can get your hands on an Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc, then here are some procedures to fix the BOOTMGR missing (you can try repair system with the Neosmart disk but honestly, I don't think that will work - you need to do the other procedure):

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ·        Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not resolve the problem, try the following:

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. press a key when you are prompted.

    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:

    ·        bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    ·        c:

    ·        Boot CD

    ·        BCD attrib s h - r

    ·        Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    ·        Bootrec /RebuildBcd

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • How do you get the type of incoming IMAP to POP3 server?

Recently, after getting a laptop with Windows 7, my Thunderbird account stopped to let me see or send emails. I contacted my small ISP and talked with them. One change was that the address I had for their server was no longer used and now the server type is incorrect on behalf of TB: it was IMAP, but should be POP3. I have to go to a reading of general E-mail site to find my incoming emails. I can't find a way to change the IMAP POP3 Protocol, so need your help.

Configure the account again. When it gets to a point where it shows you the IMAP settings, it can show you boxes to choose between POP and IMAP. If so, select pop. If this is not the case, select manual Config and enter the settings provided by your email provider.

What reason is provider makes for POPS are correct and incorrect IMAP? If you have run the auto-set-up and Thunderbird discovered an IMAP server, then they of course offer IMAP service, so it is difficult to see why its use is 'bad '.

    Provider who is?

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 has more: format of paper PAPER MISMATCH or type is incorrect message

When I try to print a regular 8 1/2 x 11 paper, I get an error message that says "paper mismatch: paper size or type is incorrect." What happened recently power, and sometimes I couldn't the printer to print if I power off (reset) completely and/or rebooted my laptop, or if I deleted the printer in the preferences system and then he readded.  But now, not even these solutions are effective and I get the error message.  I followed the following steps: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01824353 and had no luck.

If I could just replace the message, it would be a cure, because everything that I never print is 8 1/2 x 11.

  • Pavilion g6-2306el: problems with the recovery DVD-R discs

Hello, it's only now that I saw that the DVD + R is suggested for all recovery discs burning. A little too late for me, since I bought several DVD-R to produce my game. Here is what happened: each disk has been created with difficulty; the burning process failed on all the others try. But in the end, I finally got the DVD-R 4 program have been burned and verified correctly. Now, when I tried to insert each disk to make sure that the laptop was able to read properly (the content supposed to be confirmed, after all), to my horror, I realized the first two discs were not being recognized. However, my patience was rewarded when, after a long time, suddenly, an Explorer window showing the contents of the disc. Taking advantage of the situation, I immediately copied this content in a folder on the desktop. It took me a long time to do this process for the content of the first two discs that had recognized problems. Subsequently I also copied the contents of the discs 3 and 4, which was much faster. Now, I have four folders with the corresponding content of the recovery disks in the office. The question is: can I use these content and burn on DVD + R this time, in order to have a working set of recovery disks? Thank you very much.

    Hi @anthony_s

    Thank you for your query.

I understand that you have created your recovery on the wrong type of DVD disc and does not work.  You have copied the contents of folders on the desktop you and want to know if you can now create new recovery DVD on the appropriate type of files.

No, it will not work.  I suggest that you contact HP support and inform about events and inquire about obtaining a recovery kit.

In the attached VI why looping force the type of data while the other does not?

I'm guessing that you have created the Enum on the front panel.  If you right click and create an indicator, it corresponds to the type and be an enum.  LabVIEW represents enums as U16, but because the types are not the same (for example, your enum has 3 values, but a U16's 65 536 values), LabVIEW automatically converts value (or converts) the smallest representation (enum) in the largest value (U16).

  • How can I determine the type of image to be used before loading an image?

I'm developing an application using VB 2005 which measures two 8-bit or 16-bit image files. When I saw the picture, I find that I have to set the type of image the image buffer before playback of the image in it. For example, if I read a 16-bit image in a buffer of 8 bits, the image is truncated. I guess I could read the image in a 16-bit buffer and retype it if the pixel values are less than 255.

Is there a better way to do it? Can I determine the number of bits of an image before loading in a buffer?

    Thank you!

    Hi Steverino,

Olivia is incorrect... VDM has a function called GetFileInfo which does just what you want. It only reads the header of the image but does not load the entire image in memory. It will give you various properties such as the bit depth.

I think that on the new .NET support, there can exist here: NationalInstruments.Vision.Analysis.Algorithms.GetFileInformation.

Thanks to the ICB and our legacy of .NET support, it's probably a similar name.

    2. How can clean the Volume in order to show "Volume is clean instead of sale"

I look forward to hear from you.

    Thank you

    Hi, Dr.,

Volumes that contain file system errors are known as Sales. To indicate that a file system problem has occurred and that the volume is dirty, Windows XP Professional displays a message similar to the following when you try to open, delete, or rename a file or folder by using Microsoft Windows Explorer or the command prompt:

Autochk runs if the volume is marked as modified.

If the file system has marked the volume as dirty, Autochk runs the Startup Repair process. Volumes are marked as dirty, when the file system detects an error on the volume. If Autochk detects a dirty volume, it provides a delay of 10 seconds, and then starts the repair process. If you cancel Autochk when a volume is dirty, Autochk tries to run again after a 10 second delay every time the computer is restarted.

See Chkdsk for all the necessary explanations:
