  I'm working on a program for one of my organizations.  The document has two layers.  One contains a content and a hidden on top of this layer contains text boxes used for a table of contents.  The document was designed years ago and has been used successfully through CS5 and CS6.  When I upgraded to CC my text boxes started acting weird and the table of contents does not see the text. It is true that when a text box is on a piece of content.  It does not have the same behavior with residence in a white space.  Video of deliverance can be seen here, InDesign CC problem - YouTube.  Any help appreciated.

  I have created a form in InDesign CC (latest version on a Mac under El Capitan). I export the form in PDF format. There are some interactive tooltips (with suggestions on how to fill in each particular field) implemented as buttons. The control keys are static. When I click on the trigger, the bubble appears, when I click on the bubble, it disappears. The problem is that even if the bubbles are set up on the top layer in InDesign, in many cases they appear behind the text layer.

  Is there a script that I can add to each individual bubble that says "when this bubble is active, move it to the top layer?

  This project took over 3 weeks of troubleshooting. In the end I came up with my own results. The answer was "no, it isn't a script."

  With the help of the Adobe customer service, we found that because in the InDesign file, I had the pop-ups on a different layer than the triggers, it was causing a problem of overlap. I found myself by combining the layers into a single, moving pop ups to the elements high on the page in the layers palette.

  Then I exported (interactive) PDF from InDesign and in the PDF file, in edit mode, in the fields Panel, I've selected all the pop-ups and offers them to at the bottom of each page [z-index property]. A lot of manual labor, but in the end, I got most of the results I wanted.

  If your running windows make sure you have the latest device driver for your graphics card installed.  All entries must be selected and be on a black background, but you should be able to see is that the text.

I've recreated text boxes and still have the same problem it appears then disappears or I can get only part of the Word visible on the image, then a + sign comes... It should work please help. I tried to recrete this particular image and word a handful of times its just not the text box woking sometimes added a sign which does no sense, I tried a different text alignment so +...   One way is to create a clip made up based on the title and the original clip. Then apply the effect.

  Another way is to use an adjustment layer.

  Recovery methods:

  If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

  To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

  In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

  Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

  Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

  First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

  If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

  If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

  A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

  Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

  Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages.   The fact that the file is a JPEG file is not the problem. Even if the background layer has been locked, a new layer is added when you add text. Select the Horizontal type tool and click on the page. Once you see the insertion point blinking cursor, type away. You can make choices in the formatting Options bar at the top. When the text looks as you want, click the check mark.

  Hi all

  I'm cutting text from an image in Illustrator. I use the version on a Dell XPS 12 CS6.

  I have scoured the internet for instructions and have tried everything, but when I followed the same steps in Illustrator I don't get my desired result. I created the contours for the text, so that the image and text are on the same layer, grouped (and dissociated) and then I tried all the options in the pathfinder, nothing helps. I've done it before with an image, but for some reason can not get it to work this time.

  I even tried to make the image in a clipping mask, so it would be a 'form' instead of 'image', but that didn't do anything either.

  If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it that I spent hours trying to figure this out!

  Pathfinder will not work with a path and a picture.

  Instead, put your text above the image (it can be the living text), select both.

  You can then use the button do mask in the transparency to cut your text on the image palette.
