  I have a client that using an old iMac Yosemite and who spoke by installing running Pages. Previously, he used a product called free agency. It downloads a weekly shopping list of his local food bank, it needs to fill orders. I'm sure it's a Word from 1997 to 2004 document. (It is a food bank after all, not a lot of money for the software updates)  He tried to open it in Pages and everything was blurred. He sent me to see what I could do with it. He opened well in Word, which he did not. When I tried to open it in Pages 5.6.1 he was scrambled as well for me. Then I tried 4.3 Pages and its opening perfectly. Why is there a problem in the latest version?

  Pages ' 09 v4.3 and v5.6.1 Pages are entirely different applications, and missing about 100 features present in the Pages ' 09 v4.3. There are documents of Word right here on my desk that Pages v5.6.1 simply does not open and goes hand in hand with a cryptic message, "could not open file for some reason any." However, the Pages ' 09 v4.3 and LibreOffice v5.0.4 can open the same file with impunity. Unfortunately, hardly recommendable a v5 Pages.

  You have no real choice on this: If you want to place a vector format on a page, you must use SVG. HAVE or PDF are not supportet.

  If you want to Open a vector file, you can link a PDF file that opens in a new window using browser/operating system features. In this case, you use the command ' File/Upload to FTP host' and link this file to a button or other object of your choice using the "Hyperlink" command in the upper command band.

  I have a client who wants to put me a link on their Web site that will add a desktop icon to the machine of the visitor. In other words, their Web page will be a text that says something to the effect of "To add a desktop icon that links to our site, click here" it will be then add a desktop icon on the user of the machine which, once clicked, you open a browser and load their site. I don't have any idea how to do it and found nothing on this subject of Web search, other than to find other people who want to do the same. Can anyone help?

  Try to triple - click the text you want to select - it can sometimes be difficult to select text in a document converted. If this does not work, it could be that the PDF document is created from a scanned document and OCR is not enabled when you converted the document. (However, OCR is activated by default when converting via ExportPDF site.)
