Inspiron 15R (5537) wake from its slumber when the lid is closed through the usb keyboard/mouse

I have an Inspiron 15R (5537) which has all the latest drivers from Dell BIOS A01 Reference (Windows 8). I have the options of closing the lid set to "do nothing" for the two battery and plugged in, but no matter what I try, when the lid is closed I can't the laptop to wake up via USB keyboard or mouse.
The keyboard and mouse have the wake-up option enabled in the settings of their material.  I also wake up from USB enabled in the BIOS.
What is interesting, is that if I put the computer to sleep with the lid open, I can wake him up from the keyboard or the mouse.  But with the lid closed, the only way to wake up, it should open the cover and press the power button.
Anyone know a solution to this?
Summary:
Cover open: CAN wake from USB keyboard/mouse.
Cover closed: don't wake up if I open the lid and press the power button.

Pete,

Depending on where you live, you will have the rights of consumers.  I live in Australia and we have pretty good consumer protection.

I asked Dell - repair, replace it with one that works, or pay back me.

They went away for a few weeks, and when I "called home" a few times, they acknowledged that they could not solve the problem and offered me a full refund. The laptop was picked up yesterday and I expect the refund within about five days. The guy on my "case" has been very professional!

I guess that you informed Dell FORMALLY of the problem via a support ticket?

I did that and followed by chat and phone calls.

Whist, the ability to wake up via USB is not explicitly described in any of their literature, the bios has available and W8.1 has the facility.  they built it all - EXCEPT that they forgot the lid...

see you soon

So I have an Inspiron 17R SE 7720 which has all of the latest drivers with BIOS A11 (Win 7 Ultimate x 64)...  I have all the settings properly configured for sleep power (no hibernation), however no matter what I try, I can't get the laptop to wake up when the lid is closed through USB keyboard.

I use a combo of MK560 Wave from Logitech (unifying receiver) - keyboard and mouse have the wake-up option enabled in the settings of their material.  I also wake up from USB enabled in the BIOS.

What is interesting is that if I put the computer to sleep with the lid open, I can do/wake it from Logitech devices.  With the lid closed, I can only do sleep - the only way to wake up, he is to open the cover and press the power button.

  • How can I access the BIOS on a Pavilion p6710f when the usb keyboard is not recognized during boot?

There is no connection to access the bios with a standard PS/2 keyboard and the USB driver does not load in time to access the bios with a combination of keys on the keyboard. I need to check the version of the BIOS and check the settings of hardware for my readers who are accessible via the BIOS. If I can't enter the appropriate key, how to enter the BIOS? Seems to be a common problem, since I see issues with some answers all over the internet. I even looked for a possible 'hidden' ps/2 connection in the case, but not joy.

Have you tried another kbd? I recently saw a poster that is having this problem, & an another usb kbd did the trick for him. FWIW, I have a usb keyboard and mouse, and mine is trying to get into the BIOS.

  • Inspiron 15R 5537 Bluetooth and Wi - Fi works together

    Hi all

I have an Inspiron 15R 5537, aged about two years. I have upgraded to windows 10 and had since May (I attended the Insider program). The driver, I am running is the Dell Wireless 1705 Wi - Fi + Bluetooth driver, latest version. (The Wireless Dell 1704 1704 Bluetooth and Wi - Fi drivers even install not on this phone.)

I have a Bose Soundlink II Mini Bluetooth speaker that I use to listen to the audio from my laptop and my phone. But when I connect the speaker to my Inspiron, Wi - Fi works very slowly and nearly stops working. For example, I can't stream a Youtube video and watch it while my speakers is connected via Bluetooth. It seems that I can either use Wi - Fi as usual and not connect to Bluetooth, or use the Bluetooth with my laptop and basically lose Wi - Fi. I had this problem since I got the speaker in mid June and actively started to use my Bluetooth.

I called Bose a few weeks and we tried a lot of different things, and we concluded that it was not a problem with the speaker, but most likely my laptop. Call Dell technical support got nowhere since the laptop is out of warranty. So I hope that someone here could help me because I have no idea what to do now.

    Thank you

    Jon

    Hello

You are using the 10.0.0.0, A00 driver DW1705 Windows 10 then?

Try this.  Go into Device Manager and completely remove the current drivers, then restart your system.  See if Windows 10 install drivers for the card and see if the driver born in this help.  If it is not installed or if it does not help, you can return to the 10.0.0.0 pilot.

  • Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 GPU problems?

I'm in the market for a new laptop computer, one old man gets a little tired.
The Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 caught my attention like a good laptop new even if it has 'only' a dual core cpu. It's really the GPU dedicated that and the HD screen which makes it interesting. However after googling a bit I can see that there are few people have a problem with this laptop and the graphics card. It looks like only the Intel graphics are running and making games really lag. I'm not a big gamer, but again, if I buy a computer with a dedicated GPU so I want that not, runs the integrated chip.
Anyone who is familiar with that? Is it possible to change the GPU in the BIOS on this particular model?

Yes, I am now typing this Message from the Inspiron 5537 (i5 4GB 2 GB AMD). My laptop also have the problem with the GPU each games Hang and sometimes with errors when opening. The integrated graphics Drive Error Message poping up showing Intel HD Graphics is missing and the restart of Lap resolving the issue... Can still say about graphic AMD if im trying to install the graphics drive the laptop black full turns and nothing happen (having to reinstall the OS to ride again) anyway just some face this problem... " The Service Center of Dell and maintenance online are the best -" they will help if you are able to pass on your problem with the technicians I get the order to replace the laptop today... I'm really happy about this I think that you should buy inspiron 5537 grand Budget Gaming laptop...

  • Black screen after Windows Update 8.1 in Dell Inspiron 15R 5537

    Hi guys,.

Hello, I have updated my Dell Inspiron 15R laptop 5537 Windows 8 Pro to Windows Pro 8.1 by using the Application Store.

After a wait of nearly 6 hours, update has been made and after the installation of Windows, display was black, cursor blinking... I checked in the Microsoft Web site, and I found that not only me and a lot of Dell customers are facing the same question. I luckily managed to start in safe mode and I uninstalled both of my video drivers and I'm back to my windows 8.1. After that I updated my video drivers as shown in the link below, always my screen turns off. If I had no other choice than the reset my pc to windows 8 pro.

    Driver video link: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/inspiron-15r-5537?driverId=PWTRP&osCode=W864&fileId=3287401962&languageCode=en&categoryId=VI

When I was checking for the latest version of the driver for Intel Graphics & AMD Radeon that supports windows 8.1, I am able to find a driver on the dell Web site.

http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/SG/en/sgdhs1/DriverDetails/product/Inspiron-17R-5737?driverId=6GGGM why it is not being updated in the list of corresponding product drivers... In fact I think that it is the fix. I'm not sure.

If one has updated and I need technical support dell for this

    Hi guys,.

After much research, I understand that is the problem because of the Intel video driver. There is a beta Intel video driver package that supports Windows 8.1. Try this update package and display your results. As I've already restored to windows 8. It will take at least 4 to 6 hours to update me the State. The link below is for Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 model.

http://FTP.Dell.com/published/pages/Inspiron-15R-5537.html and install Intel HD Graphics Driver ver 10.18.10.3308 4400. You must follow the link because this driver is not yet downloaded in Dell drivers & downloads (referred in Dell Post)

  • Integrated webcam in black and white, Dell Inspiron 15r 5537

    Hello

I've had my Dell inspiron 15r 5537 during about 8 months now and noticed that the built-in webcam is black and white and it was fine when I got my laptop.

I don't know when this problem occurred, but I can't find the drivers on the Dell website for my webcam. I tried to disable and allowing the camera but I have not uninstalled the driver because I'm worried he couldn't work together if I can't find the driver!

Thank you and I hope that this can be corrected.

    Information if this can help:

    64-bit Windows 8

    I5

    8 GB Ram

    2 GB AMD Radeon

    Thanks again

    thejfw2000,

Please continue with happy. I have a suggestion that might work.

Open Dell Webcam Central. If you do not have Dell Webcam Central installed you can download this file, also known as the Dell Webcam Central Version 1.40.05

Click settings, and then click on restore by default. If the color button is completely to the left, I noticed that the webcam is black and white.

  • Separate card for Inspiron 15R 5537 video

Hi, I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 15r 5537 and I wanted to know if its possible to install a discrete videocard on this laptop. Appreciate any help.

    Hello Pascale,

The graphics card in this system is soldered on the motherboard. If you want to upgrade, a whole motherboard must be replaced with a few minor components as heatsink thermal, thermal, etc. The card system is a factory replaceable unit; This is why it is advisable to take the help of an expert.

Answer please if you have other queries.

    Thank you & best regards

  • Dell Inspiron 15R 5537 Win 7 x 64 driver

    Hi all

I recently bought an Inspiron 15R (5537) provided with Windows 8. I install Windows 7 64 bit for compatibility with my other program and I could not all drivers for this OS. Is the drivers for Windows compatible 8 for Windows 7? Or I need to get these drivers else where?

System model number: Inspiron 15R 5537
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

    Thanks in advance =)

Find your system on support.Dell.com and change the operating system in 7 x 64... that OS is supported by Dell on the 5537.

Don't forget that you can't downgrade Windows 8 free - it takes Windows 8 Pro.  To legally run Windows 7 on your 5537, you must have a valid and unused Windows 7 license.

  • File Manager XP assigns a letter already in use when the USB flash drive is connected.

On a Lenovo S10E with XP Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr. 090804-1435: Service Pack 3) I have three virtual disks assigned to the files on the C drive.  3 drive letters are D, E & F.  When I plug a USB key, it appears in the file Mgr as 'removable disk (d)', but when you open it you get the file I originally assigned to D.  When you remove the USB key, Mgr of files will no longer display a drive D, but the initial allocation of virtual drive is still active and functional.

If I plug in a USB CD/DVD drive instead of the flash player, it is correctly attributed the letter G.

In comparison, on an IBM Thinkpad Z61t, with similar virtual drives defined, when the USB is connected it is assigned letter H (after the edge G CD/DVD drive).  The Z61t IBM has the same level of Windows XP is installed.

On a Lenovo with Vista 6.0 T500 Thinkpad, the USB is also properly assigned, after all virtual disks.

But I think I installed all available updates, I wonder if there is a fix or an upgrade for the Lenovo Netbook is going to fix this problem?

With the USB drive connected, run Disk Management (start > run > diskmgmt.msc), click on the drive and change its drive letter.

    2. make the system in stand by
    3. press a button for the system to be back
4 check the lights (shift caps lock, NumLock, scroll), the lights are off State - has failed. At that time, the caps lock Numlock/function/sroll lock are still usable and normal.

    5. If you click on one of the main (Caps Lock NumLock, locking Sroll), the LEDs will be renewed normally.

What is the make and model of your computer? Desktop or laptop machine?

When Stand By resumeing, power settings can sometimes affect the State of the device as it back to normal.

I recommend that you check your Power Options > Adanced settings > USB suspend setting > disable

  • Satellite Pro M70 freezes everytime when the USB port is used

Satellite Pro M70 (SPM76) crashes every time when the USB port is used.
The mouse works, but external HD/Extarnal card sound/Memory stick causing the laptop to freeze. All the drivers are installed right, they are the most recent and have no trouble with other users.

The devices are all compatible. Service pack 2 is installed, and all the hardware drivers on the toshiba have been updated... again, same problem.
The toshiba is about 2 months old and have had this problem since I got it. First I thought it was the drvers, but I cleared of all (?) other options but the USB ports.

    Hello

Believe me, that's not easy to say what the problem may be. It is important to see if the problem occurs because of hardware or software may be. I recommend you to backup all your data and reinstall the unit using rescue media. On this way the unit will be factory settings and will be clean preinstalled. Test your USB devices and see what happens.

Try to use some standard like USB stick or external HARD disk parts, because in this case, you must not install any drivers please. If you use other devices like USB webcam with own software and drivers, it is possible that something goes wrong, but what. On this path, it is not possible to say.

  • When you use Roland FC300 footswitch to control the transport, all the USB keyboard midi notes do not reach the logic. No help available on this?

When you use Roland FC300 footswitch to control transport LOGIC, all midi keyboard USB (UMA25s) notes do not reach the logic.

They are visible using MIDI Monitor s/w so reach the OS X - but do not make SENSE.

I tried the function of the environment of the logic and the double check OS X Midi Setup but no difference statistically.

I would appreciate any help on how to proceed.

    Thank you

    Paddy

I do not understand your post. Your use the FC300 to control logic - how is it connected?   Is it plugged into the keyboard via middle or did you connect to logic directly via a midi interface?  (sense are the keyboard and the FC300 connected independently.

When you say midi notes reached illogical (those transmitted by the FC300 or those via the USB keyboard do you mean?).

First thing to do is to circumvent the control surfaces to exclude...

Then, the control screen the custom value and see if data midi reached logical... If his hitting the midi monitor 99.9% sure it is hitting logic.

We have a M500 that recently seems to be affected by start-up problems when the USB ports are loaded with things like KB and Wireless Mouse USB external adapter.

When these ports are occupied at the start, all the usual tools seem do not load and the associated icons do not appear in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. The machine in question XP Professional and has 2 GB of RAM. The machine software is generally updated. Machine seems to start normally when the USB ports are empty.

Once completed a successful boot USB ports can be occupied and the machine will then seem to operate normally.
