Inspiron 17R 5720/Windows 8 Wifi

I installed the drivers available in the order appropriate for Windows 8, and he does not even as an option on the new settings. FN/F2 toggle Bluetooth, and I get the same notification icon that I had on Win 7 Wifi turn power on and off. I guess we expect on Intel drivers?

Hi guys,.

I contacted the support technique dell via Twitter. They told me this driver. It worked for me. But I had to manually run the file setup.exe in the folder WLAN (see image below) because I came across a few compatibility issues with the driver for the Bluetooth device. My Bluetooth works fine so I don't bother. I went in this directory and run setup.exe: C:\dell\Drivers\P58H7\WLAN

I hope this works for you guys. If this isn't the case, I recommend you contact dell via twitter support. The response was quick.

Hello and sorry for this late post. Just had this problem... If there is nothing wrong with the AC adapter, it's a software problem.

Close the laptop... Unplug the AC adapter / CC... Remove the battery... Plug the power adapter... Start the laptop... Go to the control panel... Find and select the Device Manager... Batteries, left click... Uninstall Microsoft AC Adapter, uninstall Microsoft ACPI compatible with battery control method... In fact, uninstall all you can under the batteries, but that should be all there is. It will be re - install when starting... Stop cell phone... Remove the AC adapter / CC... Replace the battery... Plug the power adapter... Start the laptop... Now, everything should be good.

  • New screen for Inspiron 17R 5720 - AUO-HD + FHD

    Hello

I have a Dell Inspiron 17R 5720. I want to change the screen since the range of colors in this regard is bad in my opinion. The screen is an AUO B173RW01 V5 which is HD + I think it is a 40-pin connection.

The AUO B173HW01 V4 would be compatible with my laptop? This screen is FHD, has the best range of colours by far and is also the 40 pin connection I think.

    More information on laptop:

    Mid-2012
    Win 7 64
    Intel Core i7
    Intel HD 4000.

If a FHD is incompatible, there HD screens + who have a better range of color, brightness and contrast?

If you need more info ask you please, I really want to fix soon!

Thank you very much for your help!

If this screen is known to be the one that was shipped with this model, it should work.  If this is not the case, see the link below for compatible screens

    >

Also note that the wiring harness must be amended to increase the screen resolution.  Yes, the connector is the same - but the internal cable structure is different between the models of low and high resolution - if you try to use a FHD screen with HD cable, you won't see a complete picture.

  • Audio Inspiron 17R 5720 problem

    Hello

I have an inspiron 17r laptop 5720 with which I am facing audio problems. Whenever I start it up, the audio does not work on the speakers and headphones. To resolve this problem, I reinstall the drivers by uninstalling the audio drivers in Device Manager, then restart the system.

The audio works after the restart as long as I continue to use it all the time. If I stop audio playback for awhile and then try to play again, it does not work. I have to repeat the same procedure to uninstall the drivers + restart to get it working again.

How can I solve this problem? Below are the drivers installed.

Definition Hiigh CODEC IDT by IDT (6.10.0.6426)

Audio device high definition from Microsoft (6.3.9600.16384)

I tried dell support where it scans my system to determine if any driver download is necessary. All this turns out to be good. In addition, in the Device Manager, it says that the drivers are up to date. I am running windows 8.1 (upgrade of windows 8 from the "Bank") and is updated regularly!

    Help, please!

    Thank you.

Hello. Go to the Device Manager and right-click on the IDT High Definition Audio Codec and choose to uninstall the driver. Check the box to delete the files. When you restart, you will use the native Windows audio driver (high definition Audio device). If the problem persists with the native driver then it might be a hardware problem.

In order to exclude the hardware failure, perform a recovery of the system. If the problem immediately after a system recovery, so it's the hardware failure.

  • Hum/stuttering/freezing on Inspiron 17R 7720 Windows OS 8.1

    Hello

For a few days, my Inspiron 17R 7720 SE with Windows 8.1 has had problems with the audio from all sources (Media Player, youtube, games, etc.) often gel/hum/stuttering, as often as every minute for a second or two. I thought that this could be a problem with my power cable, but sometimes stack too. I've installed every update (including optional) and even disabled/enabled audio, but I still get this problem. Thank you for your help and your review!

I had the same problem as you.  What fixed it for me was uninstall the Dell "Agent SupportAssist". Something has increased with the update that caused this problem to happen.

  • No sound on Inspiron 17R 5720 after Windows 10 upgrade

Anyone know if there's new audio drivers for an Inspiron computer 17R laptop (5720) [age 2013]?

I "upgraded" to Windows 10 tonight, and now he can't use it installed drivers. The drivers are included, but it is said that they can not be used for a reason, so I have no sound. None.

So far between that and the constant crashing of applications, this 'upgrade' feels more like a HORRIBLE beta-test the software.

I may want my Windows 8.1 back if this continues.

UPDATE: Windows update solved my problem this evening and found new drivers for audio but also video.

Let your computer look for the updates of Windows drivers. If this does not work, I had just found this thread and spoke to try it before my problem was corrected automatically:

"Try this, it worked for my stuborn problem:

FIRST: go to Cortana (ask anything) in the NGO start and type Device Manager. In the pop-up above click (Device Manager Control Panel)

NEXT: Go down to the (sound, video, game controller), and then click the (>) to expand the file.

NOTE: Here, you have two options. 1: (AMD HD Audio controllers) and 2: (Audio device high definition)

NOTE: I have an AMD processor. Your audio controller can be another brand. Not much.

NEXT: make a right click on the (high definition Audio Device) and click (driver update) a second box opens:

NEXT: Click the Option at the bottom (browse my computer for driver software) opens another box.

NEXT: Click on the bottom option (to let me pick from a list of devices on my computer) another box opens.

NEXT: options (model): click (HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO DEVICE), and then click Next.

You should hear sound from your speakers. Good luck because I know how you feel.

I hope it works for you, as it worked for me bcause I was really disappointed until someone here left a message which I can't find for the life of me. "

  • Inspiron 17r - 5720 problems audio - static, hum, during playback of any audio and the sound of the speaker rear

Hi, I got my laptop for less than a week and there are several problems with the audio. When no matter what audio is supposed to play, only a static noise comes from loudspeakers. This happens when the music plays, or when a sound system is supposed to play.

Occasionally when I start the computer, the rear speaker makes a wooshing, a static sound (like a TV white noise) and will continue when I open programs.

Hello. Unplug the power cable from the computer and listen on the batteries. If the audio improve, then you have a problem of material known with this model.

The problem is documented in the FAQ Audio Choppy/jump. Look in the section for model Inspiron 7720 and 5720.

  • Inspiron 17R 5720 white screen

Logo Dell comes and then the screen turns white (backlight is turned on). I can enter the bios and you have run the built in PSA Diagnostics without error. Tried an external monitor, but doesn't work. Diagnosis of the screen ("D" + power supply) does nothing. Three on the front are turned on. Tried removing battery and pressing the power for 30 seconds, but still Dell logo then blank screen.

IF YOU ENCOUNTER THIS PROBLEM - TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS ARTICLE / FIX!

I agree that this thread is over a year, but I just recovered from this problem and thought I'd share my experience in the attempt to help others.

Problem statement: Dell 17R 1520 with 64-bit Windows 8. Turn on laptop computer, see dell Logo, Dell logo disappears, screen remains backlite, no startup progress takes place.

Occasionally, you may see a blue bar loading on the bottom of the screen. If you have any bootable media in the drawer of the DVD or USB, you can sometimes see success F12 for boot, written options in the lower right corner.

All attempts to hit F2, F8, F9, F12 give no relief. Holding the Windows key during startup does NOT bring the Windows diagnostic application. Switching the video output to an external monitor (VGA or HDMI) does nothing - exactly the same thing.

If I swapped the hard drive and tried to boot from a bootable disc of rom, I could sometimes get into the BIOS. However, I never could the system to boot from a USB key.

The problem has been compounded by the fact that I had no support from emergency boot support (thanks dell) or recovery of Windows 8.

    For me:

It wasn't a video GPU problem.

There was no question of motherboard

Remove the CMOS battery did clear the BIOS settings, but I still couldn't F2 in them - or the system complained to this topic when I first turned on (which giving me the opportunity to get into the BIOS).

Dell has offered no help, except to me charge to replace the motherboard.

There was another user of Dell who found the article which I think would have solved my problem - IF - I got the recovery media.

    This article is here: http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/kcs/kcsarticles/articleview?docid=599950

I then started testing with Windows 7. I installed a new hard drive and loaded Windows 7 (boy, that's a wonderful feeling to see a real useful to the operating system). Windows 7 loaded, and finally arrived on the desktop - however - if I rebooted the system wouldn't start the second time (same question as above).

In the end, what worked for me

    1. install a test disc (or reformat the disk used to test with windows 7)

    2 install Windows 7 (I used pro 64 - bit w/SP1)

    3. Once installation is complete and you land on the desktop computer, DO NOT RESTART

4 use IE to download the latest version of the Dell BIOS specific to your system (service number)

    5. download and run the new bios

    6. the BIOS loader runs in Windows 7, and then reboots the system

    7. the charger of the bios will continue in a black screen similar to back - let it run

    8. the system will restart again - you will begin to see signs of life at this stage

    9. press F2 to enter the bios - the default BIOS reset

    10 save and exit bios

    11. Turning off the laptop

12 install your hard drive of Windows 8

    13. turn on your system start - whalla - enjoying boring balls twirl around Microsoft

    14. in a few minutes your office should take over

You have just recovered from hell. It is stated that a process of updating failed or interrupted corrupts the BIOS and causes this problem.

I don't know everybody has hard drives and windows 7 DVD floating around. But at least this info can be used to help others.

I hope this works for you too!

  • mSATA SSD as drive Bootable - Inspiron 17R 5720

    Thus,.

I desperately need the SSD speed.

I know that I can use caching to intesl commands, but I can't!

    • Intel® Smart Response Technology: This technology takes advantage of the speed of the SSD in caching where frequently used information is stored on the SSD instead of hard drive.
    • Intel® QuickStart technology: this technology allows the system to boot with - in seconds after the hibernation.
This is what I want to do, put a 128 GB SSD drive mSATA in the slot, windows in the fire and use it as my OS & APPS, (c drive) drive, and then use the existing drive, the 1 TB of mechanical drive as the drive for storage (drive d).
The dell site, say I can't use an MSATA SSD started with--I see no why!
    Can someone advise?
Also, I can't find the mSATA specification... dunno if its 3 SATA or SATA 2.
    Thank you

    Yes it worked perfectly.

Mine has been running for more than a year.

    Install mSATA

    Disconnect the HARD drive temporarily

Set as Bootable mSATA in bios.

    Install windows on USB msata,

    Connect the HARD return drive.

You now have mSATA as drive C: and the old 1 GB HARD drive as d: or e: drive. But you can change to the d: drive if it goes as a e reader, as mine did.

IM opting out this thread now. It works and has been confirmed repeatedly. Buy the disc and crack on with it.

  • Inspiron 17R cannot install windows on the new drive

I have an Inspiron 17R SE 7720 with a dead 1 t HARD and the 32 GB SSD drive. The hard drive is a loss total and out of warranty, so I have to install Windows on a new hard drive.

I don't have a recovery disk so I install Windows 8.1 since an original DVD I ordered from Microsoft, some time ago.

My problem is that the laptop is not considered to be able to boot from the DVD. I get a message "No operation system Found."

I changed the startup list in the BIOS to first have the DVD. I tried f12 to choose the DVD to start but nothing works. I checked the disc in another computer and it's good.

I read something on the problems causing mSATA SSD and also on the Intel Rapid Storage is a problem.

Please help if you can, I need the laptop for school.

(Or fact) the DVD Player reads all other discs?

  • Dell Inspiron 17r keep losing wifi connection

Hello, I got my inspiron 17r since this Christmas. its obviously still in very good condition because there is not even a year yet. However, after about a month of having my computer I noticed something he did which was very annoying. the wifi connection is lost at random for about 2 minutes and then connects to re. Meanwhile, I can't load pages or anything. When he started to do this, it would occur only about once every 2 hours, but it gradually got worse and worse to the point that I cannot yet access the internet with it more. I start and it has no connection, then connects to the wifi for 5 seconds and then he loses again. Here's the deal, this only happens with my computer on all the computers in my family. I have a very good wifi connection because the connection has said 'good' each time it connects and this problem never happened with my last computer which is a toshiba. I know for a fact that this isn't a problem with my wifi at home because I brought my computer on a trip through the country before and it happened again. I got the help of a dell agent before and he gave me a link update some drivers which I don't remember. This has helped the problem a little bit for maybe a week or two, then it started to do it again. Please help me this is ridiculous, how does this happen considering how new and costly, the computer was

Only solution is to use a usb wireless adapter or run an ethernet cable which defeats being wireless.

Well said, their warranty covers only the hardware so I tell everyone to stay away from a product sold with a well-known problem

  • How can I uninstall windows 8 and install windows 7 on an Inspiron 17R SE 7720

I bought my Inspiron 17R SE with Windows 8 installed in December 2012. I tried my best to become familiar with Windows 8, but most of the time I do love. I tried to use the classic interface so it looked like Windows 7 but I still don't like it.  It seems to me that Windows 8 be not really suitable for the use of the laptop.

I want to uninstall Windows 8 and install my own copy of Windows 7 Pro, but I do not know if it will install on a laptop at the origin of installation for Windows 8.  I asked Technical Support on this issue, but I was told that Dell would not support this so they couldn't help me.

Can anyone here help me with detailed instructions on how to achieve what I want... I read that the needs of settings in the Bios to be changed before I start but do not know what to do.

    Thank you
