Inspiron 531 - 2nd SATA HDD not recognized

Hi all

Well my beautiful shiny new Dell was delivered today.

I got my disk 'Data' from my old PC (before it is returned) and put in the new PC today. Connected by cable SATA and SATA power supply that connects the drive "primary".

However, when the DVD player is connected to SATA 01 and disk 'data' to SATA 02 or 03 then the dat adrive is not detected in BIOS or Vista. I tried another SATA cable and swithched the SATA power leads between the main drive and the "data disk" but nothing works.

However, when I disconnect DVD and then connect 'Data' drive to SATA 01 it appears.

If I then reconnect the DVD SATA 02 or 03 while it does not appear.

So overall, it seems that only SATA 01 and 02 or work.

Someone at - it suggestions?

The power supply is not enough strong (I also have an in this 8600GT GFX card)?

See you soon

I didn't disappear without saying how it worked.

I decided to unload him had ' drive to the new computer and reinstall in the old computer because I had a

hard time believing this was not working due to an error on the new computer.

I discovered it had ' drive was fried.  It powers not up at all in the old computer now.  If some time after I unloaded it from the old computer it fried.  I'm sure it was something I did, despite all the care I got.

  • Envio 3TO Ext HDD not recognized

Hi my external HD can no longer be recgnised by my 64 bit Windows 7 computer. There were always a little skittish because I couldn't start my computer with connection. But now he says that he does not recognize it and comes up with an error 43. I tried to reinstall the drivers, but it still doesn't work.

I have many irreplaceable info on the external hard drive and am really upset that I can't make it work

    Can someone help me please.

The 43 error could appear due to different reasons and so its not easy to say what causes this HARD drive failure.

The issue could be due to the defective, faulty driver installation cable USB or a USB port.
It is also possible that the system has been confusing upward and the registry should be cleaned or repaired.

From there where I bit you should check some necessary workarounds.
First of all I recommend you connect this HARD drive on another computer.
Test it by using the 2nd laptop or desktop PC and connect the HARD drive to different USB ports.

S computer USB ports should be checked as well. Disconnect all USB devices.
Go to Device Manager and remove all USB hubs, controller and ports.
    Then restart the system.
After restarting again, the system must initialize ports that are automatically deleted.

Last but not least Microsoft published a document of troubleshooting in order to solve the problem of error 43.

Error: USB device not recognized when you try to access an external USB hard disk.

    Check also.

If anything would help him, probbaly the HARD disk is defective :(

new disk sata hard not found on my computer laptop Gateway E - 475 M when I start windows install all the file load down, but when he finished and ask I want to set up windows xp now press Enter, I get Setup did find any hard drives installed in your computer. Any help on this

    Thank you

Windows XP Setup disks have been created until the SATA drives existing and therefore Windows installation floppies do not recognize him (they have no drivers for it).  The solution is to look carefully on the installation and you will see a point where a message down prompting you to press F6 to load external drivers.  At this point, you must press the F6 key and install a floppy disk (Yes, need a floppy disk) in the floppy disk drive that contains drivers for your SATA drive.  If you do not have a working floppy drive, you must create an another Setup by 'slip-streaming' the SATA driver disk in the installation disc.  There are Web sites that will help you in this process if necessary.

  • Inspiron 15R 5537 helmet is not recognized.

So I bought 5537 yesterday with win8. When I plug my headphones, it is not recognized. Audio continues to play through speakers. I've seen people with the question the other way where speakers did not work for them but because of helmet. The helmet is not a microphone (this is the problem?) I have tried many headphones, none of them have been recognized. I was on the last commands of Realtech, I uninstalled to try if it works. But still not a go. :(

    Ashwas
The helmet is not a microphone (this is the problem?)

This should not be a problem. The headphone jack ("combo") will work with a smart phone earphones headphones or with ordinary headphones. The problem with taking the combo, it's that it will work only with smartphone headset microphones, not ordinary microphones.

If you had a problem caused by the wrong configuration, then re - install the audio driver would fix it. Try to reinstall the Realtek driver and if it does not then you probably have a hardware failure. Contact the technical support. You also have the option to return the laptop in the short period of return.

  • Inspiron 2500 new HDD not recognized

I replaced the original 10 GB hard drive in my Inspiron 2500 with a PATA/IDE Hitachi 80 GB 5400 RPM HARD drive (mod 0 has 28417).   BIOS shows no disc HARD now.  BIOS is the current version, A15.  I tried to remove and re-seating the new drive twice with no effect.

I found other threads of message showing Inspiron 2500 owners upgrade to 80 GB hard drives with the downside of not to use a SATA disc successfully.  So I thought this drive would be compatible.  I was wrong?

First, I share this drive for something else, any suggestions?

  • 2nd hard drive not recognized

I have maybe over my head.  I have a HP p6680t, Windows 7, with an original hard drive 1 TB Samsung.  I recently got a 2 TB WD harddrive and installed in the port 1 (original in port 0).   Everything turned on, successfully, loaded the driver automatically but found no new disk in 'computer '.  Intel 'Rapid Storage Technology' found the new HDD and asked if I wanted to use as RAID1 with success.   I said yes.  He said that having created successfully the image after 3 hours.  Today, however, I like to use not as the RAID, but as an additional drive.  How he recognized by Windows?

    Hello

First thing to do is update the TSRI softwarefrom the Intel site. Then, use a third-party imaging product to take a full backup image of the Array volume.  The TSRI Intel allows to check that you have only one volume of table with two hard drives. Now use TSRI to reset to normal table.

You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the HP Forums.

I understand that you have properly installed the SSD as boot drive. You have installed a new HD and it is recognized in the bios and passed all the tests. With the two drivers installed internally you started Windows but when you check the disk management it does not list the new HD.  While in disk management have you tried clicking on "Action and selecting"Analyze the disks?"

When you have removed the hard drive and connected with the USB cable, the drive is listed and you saw 3 partitions on it with partitions without designation of file system and the drive letter. If the Player did not recognize when you did the rescan in disk management, because it is recognized when connected with USB, you can try to reformat the drive and assigning a driver letter when you are logged here.  Now, restart your laptop if you reinstall the internal drive, if it recognizes the drive?

Please let me know the results.

My BIOS is very, very basic and is not very many options.

Would be - that the problem be attributed to the speed (7200) faster or the power supply to the new HARD drive?

The service guide says that you have a hard drive configuration 2 x 320 GB 5400 RPM, but I don't think that the speed must be at 5400 RPM. However, the speed of the two drives should be the same I guess. As 2 x 7200 rpm or 2 x 5400 RPM...

You did not know you had XP.  Download this free EaseUS utility to configure a partition, format it and assign a drive letter.

  • Secondary HDD not recognized

I recently bought a used HP CD7100 CMT desktop computer and I try to install a secondary (or slave) antibody SATA hard drive.

It is the first computer I owned with SATA drives and I can't recognize the drive volley.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

You said high school you are trying to install is a SATA drive.  There are no jumpers on the SATA drives. I assume you are using a SATA data and power connector.  If so, the two drives appear actually in the BIOS?  If so, the hard drive is formatted?

To format the hard drive, go to control panel, system and Maintenance, administrative tools, computer management, and on the left margin click on disk management.  On the screen, you should see a volume that is not assigned.  Right-click on the new volume and select 'Format '.  The format will take a while depending on the size of the hard drive, but it shows the percentage of completion at the top of the window.  Make sure you don't accidentally format your main drive.

Have you tested this disk external DRIVE with other computers/laptops?

I think that you should do this because it might be an external HARD drive failure.
