  If we install the operating system with version OEM Dell (disc that came with the computer operating system), the product key is not required. For the operating system with the commercial version, the key will be available on the disc.

  I would like to know if you have the disks in the operating system for the reinstallation of the operating system.

  On my desktop Dell Inspiron 545 s, I want to replace the hard drive of 320 GB Western Digital (WDC WD320AAKS - 75L9A0 ATA) with a Western Digital 1 TB HDD (WD1002 FAEX) ' Black'.  It will be compatible with my system?  It not, what other disk hard Western Digital of same capacity is compatible?

  Hello!  A couple of things come to mind.  First of all a upgrade you to the latest BIOS available?  It's the first thing, 2nd if you did update the BIOS or not, even the BIOS recognizes the new processor?  It seems that the Phenom II X 4 is the highest supported processor.

  I am trying to adjust the settings on my Inspiron 530 desktop (XP) so that it does not Hibernate mode or standby.  Under "power options properties", I have the 'Enable the hibernation' box unchecked, but that did not work.  In the morning, the power button blinks, put into hibernation.  Can someone help me with this?  Please?

  Hello my name is Sebastian Todd, I been using my Dell for over 2 years now with absolutely no problems affecting it, because of my interview. About 1 month ago I turned it off by clicking the button "shut down." Since then I could not turn it back on. When I push the power button on the Tower, it emits light for about a quarter of second yellow/orange. I know for a fact that there is adequate food, due to the green light which is emitted at the back of the tower. I don't know what to do, and am not economically ready to buy a new computer. Help, please! (inspiron 545)

  The green light on the back of the power supply does not indicate that feeding did not fail, it only indicates that power is the power supply.

  What color is the light on the power button, it is flashing, solid or Off?

  It should work; It's quad-core processors that require a different motherboard.

  The original cooler must work, the old thermal paste is carefully cleansed and applied new compound. (Arctic Silver is a popular choice).

  If you do not need, of course.

  Just to be safe, manually set a system restore point. Then, go into Device Manager and look for the FAX modem. Right-click and select uninstall to uninstall the driver, so you will only get the error messages about "device not found". Manager of output devices and shut down.

  Unplug the PC and the power button press / hold for ~ 15 sec open the case and remove the modem card. Install an empty PCI housing to cover the empty space to keep the dust/dirt off the case and maintain the normal air flow. Close the case, and you should be good to go.

• How to get or install a 2nd HD for Inspiron 530 desktop PC

  I'm helping a colleague to set up a new Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer. It is not possible to order this online with a 2nd hard drive system. He's thinking about controlling the system with a single HD, then buy another HD locally and adding.

  However, what I saw inside my elderly parents Dimension 521, Dell goes HD using a plastic slider/support type and not with the 4 screws usual. I guess that the Inspiron desktop computer uses a similar system and that the plastic support is necessary to mount the HD in the case.

  I would like more details on this subject. Is there room to the desktop Inspiron for a 2nd HD? Is it possible to order the HD mounting bracket separately and how? Alternatively, if you place your order by phone, would it be possible to have the 2nd HD included in the original order of the system.

  Your other post says you have a laptop Inspiron 15. But I have a few questions to see if we can not reduce what model & perhaps specify a little more upgraded.

  (1) can you tell us what Laptop Inspiron 15? Dell has had many over the years; The models they sell in places like Best Buy, 15N and 15R are listed in their systems like M5030s, the 1525 has been a very popular to sell a few years back followed the 1545... See what I mean? I don't want to tell you to buy a game incompatible RAM or something like that.

  (2) what do you do with your Dell?

  (3) is there something 'wrong' with your system, or it performs everything just not up to your expectations?

  Generally interfere in laptops you can only change the RAM & hard disk easily. RAM helps with your performance on a daily basis, especially if you multi - tasking.

  A new drive hard won't give you a huge speed increase but will bring you more storage if you wish. Conversely, an SSD has limited storage space, but is incredibly fast.

  Now, if it is an Inspiron 570 desktop computer you have many options & I really need to know what you want to do or do better.
