Inspiron 620-7750 Radeon with 450W power supply installed does not start

Hello!

I have looked EVERYWHERE online and on the forum and have seen several posts on this topic and still not found a solution that works.  I have a Dell Inspiron 620

  • I5Intel Processor2nd Gen Core i5-2310 / 2.9 GHz
  • Memory8 GB / 8 GB (max)
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit Edition operating mode
  • Optical DriveDVD±RW
  • Graphics technology ProcesseurIntel HD Graphics 2000 dynamic video memory 5.0
  • Integrated graphics controller

Recently, I buy a Powercolor Radeon 7750 graphics card I have installed the drivers, uninstalled the current Intel Graphics driver from Device Manager and then install the new card.  I of course unplugged the PSU got rid of and left in power has failed to myself and plugged into the PCI-E.  After I tired to turn on but it does not start.  Fans begin to turn, including on the graphics card, but nothing comes up on the monitor and it won't start.  When I unplugged the 7750 card it starts very well?

At first I thought that it was not powered ridiculously horrible 300w PSU they put so that I have upgraded to an a 450w.  Everything works with the new power supply installed without the card, but as soon as I plug the new map, he continues to not start as before installing the card.  I have searched and tried things for 2 days now and CAN NOT find a solution.  I know that the 620 does not access the menu of the BIOS under settings in advance who does not help (don't know why Dell would never think it was a good idea!) so I can't change anything in there.

Please, any help would be fantastic!

Thanks in advance!

The card is a bad card.  There should be ZERO problems with the supply of the stock 305 w and a 7750.

  • Replace the power supply, computer does not turn on

I had a Seasonic SS 560 KM power supply for my HP Pav e9280t.  I removed the old power supply while keeping the power cable is plugged in.  Then replaced each power cables one at a time in the new power supply and finally he attached to the tower.

Now when I try to turn on your computer, it just boots barely upward.  I can hear the fans kick on for a second or two, then everything just stops.

Since I replaced the cables one at a time I don't think I missed anything; MoBo, Fan of MoBo, 1 optical drive, disk HARD 2 and 1GPU.  The tower is open and I can see the fan, the fan GPU MoBo and PSU fan all hang on one second so that they get the right power?

I must have missed something or possibly faulty PSU?  Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Chadow86, it is possible to the new power supply may be faulty. I would check double all the connectors again.

Since you mentioned the fan to the motherboard, it would not be necessary to unplug the CPU fan when you changed the power supply. The CPU fan power source comes from the motherboard and not directly from the power supply. I don't know what fan on the motherboard you are talking about.

I watched the specifications and photos of the new power supply. It is a modular design. I would check the cables connected to the power supply to make sure that they are in the correct connectors.

If the system still does not start, the cause could be a new power supply faulty.

    I hope this helps.

I have an additive to add to this topic.

To refresh, my questions focus on a possible shift of the power supply and card mother specs:

What is an ATX 12 v 2.0 and above technical problem or a power CAP problem?

I posted my questions on the Forum of power SUPPLY Corsair PSU

at the same time and I paste it here now, a response

    to GUY of RAM.

    "Hey RAM GUY."

Sorry I couldn't answer until now.

Please specify the difference between the ATX 2.0 specification and 2.01

Spec that the negative - 5 v Rail is not present in the 2.01 spec and

beyond.  As I mentioned previously, the Thermaltake PSU that has been

running in my 2009, HP i7 tour for 7 last month said 12 volt ATX 2.2

on the case and even if the power supply HP OEM said 12 volt ATX

2.0 in the technical literature, that I found on Google, the real PSU I have does not work

have any note on the case ATX specification.  So I think it's safe to say, my

motherboard does not have the negative Rail v-5 at which he played

nicely with 12 volt ATX 2.2 spec, until recently.

Although theoretically it is supposed to be no limit on the amount of

Absorbed power, you can use to power your motherboard, the motherboard because

is supposed to use only what suits him and cap the rest, it seems that the OEM

can dial up limitations of power if they deem necessary.

Could be as simple HP, without wanting to compete with some of his HPs

Professional workstations, caps so power on some Pavilion Elite

Series models to prevent them from becoming a much cheaper

    solution.

In any case, I think that all the available information, digested, he does not speak

Specification of the ATX, but rather my motherboard HP has a limit of 650 Watts of power

If I think that I read that someone else got the same motherboard goes with

750 watts, but I do not remember where to find this announcement. »

    I'm back and Yes!

    Thanks again Lasvegaswireman!

  • sudden loss of battery power, connection lost, lose all power from power supply disconnected, does not recognize battery

I have a Sony VAIO & use the largest of the battery (extended life) since I bought it 3 years ago fighting.  I was always able to automatically switch the power supply of the battery by simply unplugging, or computer plugging in AC on leash.  And, I was always able to see the battery down icon to the left of the screen (taskbar) & it would show % battery remaining.  Now, all at once, as soon as the power supply cord is UN-plugged the laptop turns off completely, no reserve power at all & I can't find the info of the battery. anywhere on the computer.  Icon no longer appears in the lower left corner & when I go into the power settings, the "Battery 1" icon is grayed out, so it seems that the computer is not finding all the batteries.  It happened so suddenly.  Could battery comes essentially lost all its power & become non-existent to the computer, or is this a computer problem, battery not recognize.  Not sure if this puts some I can fix somewhere, or if I need to have a computer repair man to fix the real computer.  Please HELP, I am desperate to solve this problem, as a laptop does not really serve its purpose if it must be connected to the hard power all the time!  TX in advance for a help, suggestions.

Yes, most things are cheaper to replace than to trouble.

But if the laptop seems to work ok otherwise, he might just be easier to see if there is a recall on the faulty battery or if it is still under warranty.  In addition, sometimes you can add a little more memory to the old system and see some performance improvements

on the other hand, replacement of the laptop can be problematic because the old machine has all the programs installed on it, registered product keys and has accumulated years of personal files.  and sometimes old expensive programs won't work on newer versions of windows.

the argument would be to close the new machine on the standards you eventually accept.

I also have a gts 250, that also installs and works fine. Ive read a little, and there is a problem with this map and the hp system? something about the type of bios? I couldn't quite follow what has been said.

If you upgrade to Windows 8 (UEFI-mode Setup) and apply the BIOS posted updated so you should be able to work to the video card.

Don't forget to create a set of external support of HP recovery before installing a new operating system.

    Good luck.

Thank you. I stuck an A31 keyboard on it and it turned on! A took a look on the original keyboard. Jumped the bezel around the button cell and found the power button was missing the rubber dome which lies beneath the button. A keyboard A31 cannibalized and it is stuck in the keyboard T30. Major PITA but a few minutes of fumbling had done. Computer works fine.

I looked inside the frame, but did not find the old piece of rubber. Chalked it up to the mysterious things that happen in transit. The owner swears that the power button was functioning before the swap to the mobo. In any case, thanks for the tip on the keyboard.

    Hello Parts5623,

There are a few steps that can be tried, that would help us to the question of fixing.

    1. check if the hard drive is detected in the BIOS.
    -Restart the computer.
-Keep tapping F2 at the Dell Logo screen.
    -Need for the BIOS.
-Check if the hard drive is detected.

In case the hard disk is not detected, I suggest swapping the power cable and the data cable from the hard drive thanks to the optical drive and check if the drivers are detected in the BIOS.

2 enforce the Pre - Boot System Assessment (PSA / ePSA) Diagnostics.
Run the test and check if gives an error code. Note the error code and update me with the same, you'll know the next course of action.

Please try the steps and rewrite with results, would be happy to help you further.

  • PC infected with Alureon.DX & Alureon.A, does NOT start

I'm the producer in a small television studio.  We have two editing stations, both XP Pro running.  Yesterday morning, I arrived and the computer screen has been scrambled and generating errors, so I tried to restart.  He briefly flashed the BSOD and I could not initialize since, not even in Safe Mode or last good Configuration known.  I put the PC does not restart in case of error, and it listed the following:

    STOP: 0X0000007B (0XBA4C7524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

Fearing the player had gone wrong, I plugged the drive to a USB box and attached to the other station.  I was able to save most of my important files, but if there is a way to restore the operability without a format I would prefer that.

I've repeatedly tried to eliminate infection Alureon.A of the reader.  MSE tells me that the computer must be restarted, what I do.  When Windows comes back on, the infection reappears immediately.

What can I do OTHERWISE than wipe the disc?

OK, obviously, you missed the part where I mentioned, that the system would not boot AT ALL.  That's why it wouldn't really matter what anti-virus program I used, because I couldn't start the computer in order to USE the antivirus software...

    * facepalm *.

In any case, I got to the existing system and make it work again bypassing the boot sector of a disk boot, then using software from Kaspersky TDSSKiller.  It restored the boot sector and I could update my MSE.
