Inspiron M5010 - 7 beeps

I googled and can't find any solid information.

Reference Dell M5010

7 beeps at startup - without cause

White screen

Reset the Bios - reinstalled hard drive and memory battery

Anyone seen this before and has a solid solution.  Thank you

I just spent over $ 110, replacing the processor and hard drive on my M5010 and I always get a completely black screen and the dreaded 7 beeps... as much as I love my Dell I won't buy another. The last one I had crashed to the ground after 2 more years. I'll stick with HP in the future, thank you very much.

  • Dell Inspiron M5010 Upgrade processor

    Hello world!

I would ask you... .who a CPU I can put on my laptop. Dell Inspiron M5010
    There now:
    Athlon II P340 bicoeur

    AMD 785GX chipset

    AMD SB850 southbridge.

I want to now Phenom II 3 or 4 cores... made exactly?

Dell did ship with Phenom II - X 4 CPU, so most of the Socket S1 - G4 processors should work.  Stick to the same models with power or similar - install a CPU that requires more power than the original, it is an invitation to instability of the system.

  • Inspiron 15 7537 beep HDD

I have a new Inspiron 15 7000 (7537), and from time to time as some taps on the keyboard, I type cause a beep that creaks coming from the area of the HARD drive. I'm not alone, there is a video to youtube of the exact symptoms here:

    cs_setInnerHtml ('video_df98d153-46de-4e66-a130-12c9cd9370a7', ");

For me, it is sporadic (sometimes for a few hours while typing and then is silent for a few hours - it can be whenever I use the laptop that I move between each use)

It's the least extremely irritating, in the worst worrying cases.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any ideas what could be the cause of this? My new HDD is about to fail? A sign very worrying laptop otherwise quite nice...

    Thanks for any help,

    Jason

I think I followed the problem down to the driver from Dell free fall Data Protection . This is supposed to park your hard drive instantly head to avoid any loss of data if you drop the laptop, but it seems I have a duff accelerometer that triggers this behavior of parking if the case is tapped lightly.

I uninstalled it (Control Panel > programs > electronic accelerometer ST) 2 days ago and the noise has not appeared since then, so it seems likely that this is the solution.

(I'm not worried about dropping my laptop. I have never dropped one, I have a good backup, and I'll be happy to get rid of this uber-slow HARD and drop in an SSD - so for me the free fall is unpleasant in any case)

  • Inspiron N5110 - 8 beeps at startup

I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 that when turned on beeps 8 times.

The LCD lights up and the power light but no screen startup Dell or something. Only 8 beeps over and over and over until I turn it off.

I tried to boot the laptop with and without the battery, with a different power converter, I tried to put back the RAM sticks and none of it works.

I tried to boot into Diagnostics with F12, but the departure of beeps before I had the chance.

Anyone has ideas or know what 8 beeps means on this laptop model?

    Hi IntecIT,

The Dell Inspiron N5110 might emit a series of beeps at startup if the LCD monitor cannot display errors or problems. The beeps 8 on this model indicates an LCD failure. However, I suggest you try to plug a well known external monitor and check if it works (if available).

Do not respond with your findings.

  • Inspiron 3520 - 7 beeps at startup

Inspiron 3520 - just out of warranty. Black screen on startup, with 7 beeps, repeated.

No, reinstalling the CPU does not work because the problem is to solder on the motherboard and requires reinvest the solder on the affected chip or replace the motherboard, that will cost more than a 3520 off-warranty is worth it.

This is caused by a manufacturing defect, so I think you have some recourse under the Sale of Goods Act, if you are in the United Kingdom, even if it is out of warranty.

  • Dell inspiron duo 7 beep codes on startup!

Hi, if someone could help me would be great! I get this code 7beep in the mother board, whenever I try to start my inspiron duo 1090, nothing on the screen just a code 7 beep not as 3-2-2 or 3-4 or something is a 1-1-1-1-1-1-1. I saw on the net that this is common and is just a false alarm from the motherboard, and that dell support told ppl for just the FN key when starting and that circumvents the P.O.S.T. and boots to nothing once again, some say ppl just left they are computer he tried like 2 weeks later and started as usual. I tried the FN button to work around the P.O.S.T. but nothing happened and my Duet is out of warranty and I don't want to pay for a false code or something please someone help me =)

I found an American site showing how to solve this problem in half an hour. At first I thought is was crazy. I was desperate, so I tried.

With the laptop on and beep far wrap it up tightly in a towel and place under the duvet. Leave it for 1/2 hour, then roll out and turn off. Let cool and then turn it on. I write on a computer laptop dell which had 7 beeps and the above treatment.

    It works!

  • Dell Inspiron N5010 8 beeps on start up

    Hello

I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 and it fell out of my bed, since, then it stopped working. Whenever I try turn it on it beeps 8 times in the series.

I went through various discussions in dell community in this regard and have done the following tests.

Test of LCD (D + market) : this test runs fine, able to see the colors strong and when restarted, it gives again 8 beeps

FN + market : it does not work. I have seen in discussions, this should run a diagnostic test. But in my case, nothing happens, 8 beeps continues.

A few posts proposed to remove the CMOS battery for a while and place it again. Who did too much work.

Reconnect the cable to the LCD screen and try, problem still exists.

Can anyone suggest me what might have gone wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

Then to do is replace the video cable - if this does not resolve the problem, it's probably that the motherboard has been damaged in the fall.

  • Inspiron N5110 will beep 5 times on start up

My Dell Inspiron N5110 beeps 5 times for 5 times now when I start my computer. I did a system scan that everything happened except he said to launch the memory test window.

Done that and he said as he went. Can someone explain these beeps? I did a search of code and were not able to fing anything with 5 beeps 5 times in a row.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

5 beeps usually mean cmos battery failure. Replace the button battery

  • Inspiron 546 double beep, orange, no video, flashing continues with the new ram

    Hello

A few years ago my girlfriend's dog struck his computer on the ground. It is that big of a fall, but ever since, while the computer will not start.

I have described the events here-> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120322170711AAmNz9o a few years ago. Never, I solved the problem.

I finally had time to purchase new ram that matches the specifications (DDR2 / 800 mhz) and I'm still having the same problem.

    • AFTER two beeps repeating and flashing lights
    • CPU fan comes on
    • No video

I bought new RAM, tried the individual stick in each housing always without success, tried a new monitor, new vga cable.

I am all of these ideas. Would it be possible, it's a motherboard problem? I do not see how, given that the motherboard seems operational with all LEDS work and fans. Maybe the slots where the ram is going have been damaged? I don't know, it doesn't seem likely, because the fall was not that big of a drop of water.

Thanks for any help in advance

    -Nick

    Hi Nick,

The diagnosis could be executed if the memory is not the issue, and after emptying the residual power, you are able to get the display; However, in the case of a failure of memory, you get to any screen.

As known good memory sticks give the same results, it could be the memory slots on the motherboard does not detect not memory modules.

The motherboard has 4 connectors of memory, and you can try to connect the memory to a location at once to see if one of the ports work if not yet tried.

Please do not hesitate to answer for any further assistance. I'll be happy to help you further.

  • Inspiron One 2020 new card mother help

    Greetings & Salmenella

The high memory slot on the motherboard of my Inspiron One 2020 beeps stop known, two beeps of intervals. Any memory I put in the continuous ringing. It stops if I have a memory stick into the lower slot.

I need help on the verification of the correct mother card to purchase or if it is a card mother Dell different that I can spend which will enter in the box. I don't mind if I have to make the cuts or small holes in the back plate, since I already have the holes for a tuner card, I bought after that I bought the model which had no openings for cable TV.

I really don't want to go buy a brand new for a slot with memory 4meg bad computer. I have a solid state, 8 GB RAM and 2 GB of RAM, it runs fast enough that I do not have to buy a new computer. But losing that 4gigs of ram in the bad memory slot. Holy Ding Dong, the hard drive takes forever to stop making noise, surfing slows down and compilation and writing of visual basic for class takes forever.

    Now for the short version.

What is the correct motherboard model to replace an Inspiron One 2020 or is there a model of mark liked that a motherboard will suit my AIO home and get all my guts of the computer. I have a 5-2390T UC iCore.

    Love,

    Stu

Any advice for this model are the same - but nothing else that will fit the original.
