No, he can't do 3D.  The only Dell laptops that do are Inspiron, XPS and Alienware systems with nVidia 3D options.

  • USERS need new ATI Mobility Radeon 9800 drivers,.

Is it me or is dell doesn't really exist to support and follow through for some of their older systems. My Dell Inspiron XPS gen 1 is still running great, but a large number of programs are me forced to update my video drivers to work, but Dell has not updated a single driver for him since 2005. We new ATI drivers but does not work on Dell laptops for some reason any.  Is it possible for customers to get their hands on dell without charge so he can tell them that they must take the drivers? Is quite messed up when many of us have spent 4K or more on machines entirely personalized for them not to continue to support them. Anyone know of a way around this problem?

  • Dell Inspiron and XPS or upgrade?

I need a new computer soon... currently I still an Inspiron 530 I kept passing over the years... 3rd video card, improved power supply and a case fan is what I've done for her, and I can still play games on it!

Not for long, I'm afraid... Fallout 4 is calling my name.

    My question:

I buy an another Inspiron with the I7 and just spend another 200 on a PSU and graphics card.

WHERE can I buy the XPS? They would be about the same price.

Someone at - it an idea?

    corbanova

The XPS 8900 with the i7 processor, games would be the best buy.

Note: Some of the newer systems Inspiron from Dell, have motherboards BGA, who owns the processor built into the motherboard.

  • USB - C on Inspiron 13 7368 INCOMPATIBLE with USB - C on the XPS

I bought in Hong Kong from DELL Inspiron 13 7368 line (works well). DELL DA200 USB - C adapter for HDMI, VGA, Etehrnet, USB 3.0 and DELL Active Pen (order #810757967).

The laptop does not recognize the DA200 adapter with or without driver.

The services licensed in China cannot help.

I tested the USB - C port of the laptop with the other adapters (to VGA, RJ-45), and it works well. I tested the adapter DA200 on XPS-12 and 13 - XPS, and it works as well.

The vendors told me that the DA200 is sold with XPS-12.

DA200 adapter is INCOMPATIBLE with the Inspiron 7368.

    Issues related to the:

    1 is the USB - C on Inspiron 7368 not a true USB - C?

    2. can I use the USB - C on Inspiron 7368 to charge the laptop?

    3. Why is USB - C on the DA200 NOT COMPATIBLE with the USB - C on the Inspiron? How many variations of USB - C is there? This who should I take care when buying an adapter USB - C?

    4. How can I return accessories that I bought and have a refund?

It IS a port USB C and lies be USB 3.

It is NOT a Thunderbolt 3 port (which is what the models XPS).

  • XPS 15 / Inspiron 15 7000 + no touchscreen and Windows 7

Two questions relating to the products in the subject line!

    (1) what kind of support/problems a face making a pure install Windows 7 Home Edition on the new XPS 15 or 15 Inspiron 7000 series?

    (2) the 15 XPS and Inspiron 15 7000 series technical sheets list a weight/thickness less when configure them with a touch non-ecran to display; However, there doesn't seem to be a way to configure these laptops without touchscreens.  Is it possible to set up each laptop without a touchscreen, and if so how do you go?  If no good to fix your sheets, Dell! :)

Thanks for raising concerns. Let me see if I can answer some things for you:

    (1) in making a new installation of windows 7 most things should be fairly easy. I did clean installs on some Dell systems like this and the only real dispute is driver and program updates. If you do a 'clean' install, I assume you mean to one of the two methods. By using the disk or partition Dell to install back to settings factory Dell how you just go ahead and do it and then reinstall your programs and go about your day. If you are using a Dell installation no, then you would just install and use page (located in my signature) downloads for you ensure that you update all drivers and drivers Dell. Sometimes drivers were to be installed manually, whereby, with the help of a USB key is useful (you put the driver disk installation file using a computer and move to the other computer and install it). Most of the other things are downloadable through one way or another, but essentially you will spend more time downloaded programs and drivers.

Do an install clean I highly would you suggest backup all files first, note the serial numbers (including your serial number of windows to reinstall them later if necessary), and make a list of all programs that you want to reinstall.

    (2) not all configurations are available in all locations. Thus, specifications are often given for all possible configurations, even if this configuration is not available in your area. If you don't see the touch non-ecran customization options and it's a brand it or pause option for you, you can find other outlets for purchase, such as the Dell Outlet store, Amazon, Ebay, etc. However, I encourage you to buy directly from Dell for the best support and warranty options.

I hope that addresses your concerns, please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns, followed.

  • Inspiron 15R or XPS 15?

I found these two laptops in my price range, and here are the specs:

    Inspiron 15R-

    Intel Core i7

    Windows 7

    Hard drive 500 GB

    8 GB RAM

1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 525 M graphics card

    £599.99

    XPS - 15

    Intel Core i7

    Windows 7

    Hard drive 320 GB

    8 GB RAM

2 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 540 M graphics card

    £559,00

    Which should I expect?

Comparing the specs, it seems that it is down to the HARD disk space. If you can deal with the 180 GB less, I'd say go for laptop #2. To my knowledge it was worth more as a first step in any case good? Maybe this is the year the last model, where the price. But as the game, must be better because of the better graphics card.

  • Inspiron and XPS

I am looking for a desktop computer will be mainly used to work (when I work from home), watch movies and surf the internet. In terms of work, I'm going to need the computer to be able to manage several Excel and PowerPoint files open at the same time, the use of Excel add ins like Solver and not much else. I wonder if it's worth paying more for the XPS or if the Inspiron will (and which model recommend you). I will not use the computer for work that often - I just need to run when I'm. I currently have a laptop XPS that I really like. I have w

    Thank you!

I have a couple of laptops Inspiron R Series in my family and they are used for school (which includes spreadsheets and I used several worksheets at the same time very well), they Streaming Netflix and use them for low end games.  I think the Inspiron system would for your needs, but the XPS specification will of course do everything faster and will have a better choice of graphics card, so overall that it depends on how much you want to spend and how concerned you are with graphics and speed.

    I hope this helps.

  • Inspiron 580 or XPS for 24/7 long hours machine running?

    Hi all

I need a machine that is peaceful and sustainable runs for hours without stopping.

Inspiron 580 is cheap but is it suitable? Should I get an XPS rather (Phenom or i5?)?

    Thank you!

Definitely get an 8300, XPS with Core i5.  If you plan to run this computer for a period of lets say for days or weeks, maybe even consider getting a Dell Optiplex or precision Business Office, since they are designed to handle the long hours of continuous operation.

  • Why Dell does not 14 XPS and Inspiron 7000 14

Really, I bought months ago that my laptop but I couldn't decide if a 13-inch or 15-inch. For 5 years, I was used to 15 in laptop and I think it's the best size, and I am determined to keep this size.

If you think that 13 is very small, and I use glasses so I don't see in this minimalist form. On the other hand, 15 inches is a big brick! I need power and screen but not weight.

Does not have why Dell XPS 14 or 14 precision? It would be nice.

    Thanks for your replies.

  • Upgrade a Dell Inspiron 531 to something with more memory and faster?

Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 531, 32-bit operating system, and the 3G memory in it but is Vista. I tried to upgrade to Windows 7, but after many attempts, could not go without having to clear everything and start over. So I'd do it if I have to do I was wondering if I could make the machine that is more memory better and faster, without having to buy a new computer say a Dell XPS 8300 (that I'll have to run a lot of photographic software in the future and I understand that this could be a good computer for that?) In any case, it is possible to 'upgrade' the computer something like this please, or I have to save my pennies for a new? Thank in advance for your advice.)

    Hello

If you upgraded to 4GBs off RAM you won't get many benefits

Here is an article on what is happening with 4GBs of RAM:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929605

"If a computer has many features implemented, the available memory can be reduced to 3 GB or less." However, the maximum memory available in 32-bit versions of Windows Vista is typically 3.12 GB. »

and you should also consult the Dell manual for your model desktop computer see what amount of RAM your motherboard would answer anyway

and here is the reason why you can not upgrade to Windows 7

There are no Windows 7 drivers written for her by Dell

  • Minor problem with the New Installation of Windows 7 on my Inspiron E1705/9400 - two entries for "Base system device" under "Other devices" with yellow exclamation point

    Hello

First of all, let me tell you about my system.   It is of a laptop Inspiron E1705/9400 with the Core 2 Duo T7400 processor clocked at 2.16 GHZ.   It has 2 GB of RAM and a hard drive on the Hitachi Travelstar nine 500 GB (7200 RPM).   It also has the GeForce Go 7900 GS video card.    Previously, it had Windows XP Professional (32 bit) and worked well.   But, I have three computers in my home and Home Office and would they work better together on my wired home network, so I'm upgrading all three to Windows 7.   My two desktops (a Dimension XPS 420 and the other Dimension XPS 430) seem like they will be no problem to upgrade to Windows 7.   But, this laptop was not on the list of Dell Windows 7 compatibility.   However, the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor that I have downloaded and run seemed to say that it was OK to do a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit and he had only a few minor issues, where it says search the drivers updated from the manufacturer.   Initially, the laptop came with a 100 GB hard drive.   For my use, which becomes very small, so I decided to get the exact same 7200 RPM drive 500 GB size.   This will allow me to do a clean install of the 32 bit Windows 7 OS on the new hard drive and not have to wipe the old disk to do so.   I can just keep the old HD and paste it back whenever I need to get something out of it.

So, here's my minor problem.   After the transfer of some elements off the coast of the old hard drive, I installed the new 500 GB drive and installed a cleaning of the 32-bit version of Windows 7.    I'm happy to announce that I have not had virtually no problems with installation and everything seems to work fine.   He seems a little more zippy than before and I have not met so far that doesn't seem to work.   I went through most of features and almost everything is superb.   But there is a minor problem, showing in Device Manager.   At least, I think it's a minor problem, but maybe someone can give me feedback to know if she is or not.

In the Device Manager list, there is a category called "other devices" now and the icon shows a little white circle with an exclamation mark.    When you expand this category, you see two identical entries that say "Base system device" and the icon has a yellow circle with an exclamation mark inside.     I know from experience that it is not a good thing to see items in the device manager that have a yellow circle with an exclamation point.   I clicked on both of them and neither one really tells you what the device is, or who did what is site you would go to a driver.    On the general tab, it has the following information:

    -Device type Other devices

    Reference of the manufacturer- Unknown

                         Location     -         Bus PCI 3, device 1, function 3

Under device status, it says the following:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the item or a set of device information

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver.

Each of the entries seem to be almost the same thing... but not exactly.   The other has the location

list PCI Bus 3, device 1, function 2... instead of function 1.   This seems to be the only difference.

I tried the button to update the driver, but that doesn't seem to work.   No matter if you say it looks like your

computer or to look for a new driver from the internet, it does not find anything.     As I said at the beginning,

the system seems to work very well... but, given that I don't know what this device is or does, I might be missing something.

He drives me crazy just have these yellow circles with exclamation point hanging out in my device manager.

I could really use some help here.    Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bryan Ray (Richmond, WILL)

BTW, I just downloaded and installed the driver pack from this ftp location and it worked, even for Windows 8.1 - 64 bit.

    Thanks Steve!

  • Dell inspiron 7559 screen brightness flicker

Hi, I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 7559 for school, my first laptop ever. It took me about 6 months to finally decide on a laptop, and I am very happy with it... it's beautiful. But I had two problems with the display. First of all, there is a slight yellow discoloration on half right, not a big problem, just my OCD, probably just a backlight bleed or something. But the big problem is that the brightness of the screen flashes constantly. I can only really noticed on the lowest brightness, but I use those so it's a problem. I've tried EVERYTHING. Tons of pilot fiddling, fiddling power supply option. I can't say if it sparkles in the bist of screen or the lcd screen of the bios, but I have disabled the NVidia intel HD graphics drivers and and no matter what I do, it still flashes. This makes me think that it is a hardware problem. If someone has an idea, I would really appreciate it. Do I have to send in for repair, or simply wait a little I read online somewhere that the lcd backlighting should "settle" so he can stop the blinking with takes a decent amount of screen time. Sorry for the long post, but this is my first pc, and I'm a bit picky about the function of my things. Thank you.
