Install Adobe Reader XI by default location

I try to install Adobe Reader XI to one location other than the default location.  The location, it is by default is a 100 MB partition, which is not big enough for the installation.  During the installation process, before he gets to the point where it tells me to clear up some space, I don't me the window to change the location by default/directory.  Here are things I tried.

Installation via the Auto-Installer

Download Auto Installer on the disk I want to install it, and then running it from there

Download the .exe from Adobe's FTP site and running it to the correct location

Download the .msi file of the Adobe FTP site and running it to the correct location

Running msiexec to change the installation directory - msiexec/i <MSI location> installdir ="desired installation location"/qb

I am at a loss here.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

I found the answer.  When you run the initial Setup, it's tempting point to a temporary directory to load files for installation.  The he was trying to point to the temp directory was only 100 MB so not big enough.  I found the steps to change the temporary location by default, and that solved the problem.

Right click on computer / my computer

Properties

Advanced/advanced system settings

Environment variables

Change the TMP and TEMP to a location that has enough space

These are the steps for XP and Win7.

    Hi anne-grethea26777033,.

You can do CD player as your default application by browsing in Edition > Preferences > under categories, select the "Général" and at the bottom of the window, you must select an option which reads "set as default PDF Manager" under the label of startup application and click OK.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Newly installed adobe reader stops immediately after the opening

I just installed Adobe Reader (on a Windows 7 computer), but I tried to open it it starts and stops immediately. I have another PDF generator that came with the computer (Stat Nova PDF) which could interfere with Adobe reader.

Works with Adobe reader installed or PDF software.

Is there a setting to make Adobe default PDF reader?

I can't risk to uninstall the software original PDF (Stat Nova PDF), it must be for a rush job and can't risk have no functional PDF reader at all.

First thing to try: go to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader and Eula.exe execution, and then click I accept.

  • Can I install Adobe Reader on one drive other than the C: drive?

Can I install Adobe Reader on one drive other than the C: drive?

    Hello

Welcome to Adobe Community. Yes, it can be installed on a different drive. Although some of the files installed by this last will be always installed on the C: drive.

When you run the Setup program, use "Change destination folder" at the bottom of the Panel

If you have Adobe Reader is installed on the C: drive, you must uninstall it before installing a new version to a different location.

    Thank you!

  • Cannot install Adobe Reader!

Hello. I had to bring my Mac, but for now it only works on 10.5.8. I am trying to install Adobe Reader, but the new version does not work. I've done some looking to find a version that did, and they (Adobe) say that the X version work. Now when I try to download an older version of them, it does not work, giving me the error "following failed install step: run the script preinstall for payload.» This is for version XI, which should still work. When I try to use the Adobe Web site to download the older versions, the site goes down only to OS X 10.6.4. I found a site of Adobe for older versions which had version 10.1, but when I downloaded and installed, the installer wanted to select a player version to update. Of course, I didn't drive, so there is nothing to update.

So I'm stuck. I can't find a version 9.4, Intel, or a reliable download for the 9.5. I would like to be able to download and work with PDF files, but for now, all I have found.

    Any help is appreciated.

Looks like the file associations have been corrupted, you may be able to repair the associations through these articles.

If you cannot run the .exe from these programs, take a look at these.
