Install hangs on Windows 8.1

I have an Officejet 4500, that could be installed without problem under XP, Win 7 and Win 8.0. Now, I bought a "new" Windows 8 laptop (Acer Aspire) and put far to 8,1. Then I started the installer executable OJ_AIO_4500_G510g - m_Full_Win_WW_140_408.exe. The first test, the program window open and hung the first step (System verification). Testing later, the file has been extracted, but no windows open. In the Task Manager, I found the process 'HP install setup' using 30% of the CPU, but I was forced to kill this process finally.

The printer itself is now installed (I am able to see the printer and use it), but the Solution Center and fax/scanning capabilities are not available. I even used the installation wizard. I stopped the firewall, without success. The idea of stopping all the services window found in this forum seemed a bit heavy for me. So what could be the reason why the window does not open and the program crashes?

Best regards

Thomas

I'm trying to install the all-in-one software for a PSC 1350 on our two PCs, which are be HP pavilions with XP SP3. On my PC the things went perfectly using the last downloaded package. But on my wife's PC Setup hangs systematically at an early stage where the window is said "Global Progress - installation step 3/4 of 5%" and "status - additional software installation.

I tried this several times using the original CD so the downloaded drivers. I also did some research and did a cleaning by using the procedure in "level 3 Uninstall" (L3_Uninstall.bat), but the installation crashes always.

I think it would be complete OK so I just installed the basic printer drivers, but then there is no software installed to make better use of the scanner. Is there any hope here? I'm rarely stumped by computer problems, so it becomes very frustrating.

Sorry, I should have looked before poster. The indication provided by DexterM (I think) to kill the process Wrapper.exe was the solution. As I was in the forum, my wife's PC had been sitting on the other office hung for about half an hour. I went to the wire and killed Wrapper.exe and the installation took immediately!

I did a clean install of windows 8 64-bit on my old 32-bit vista and now my windows won't start. I had a USB bootable to my windows 8 pro file. Installation went well (sometimes screen was a bit messed up http://youtu.be/yo4XC6o9HJE). I was able to give user information and make adjustments, but when windows tried to launch for the first time it hangs after windows logo screen 8. It will be completely after a few tries, but with internet connection.

After that I was able to start on a safe mode with internet connection and the screen is really messed up as in the youtube video.

This seems to be a common problem with the Nvidia 210 and Windows 8. Have you tried to remove the map and using the integrated graphics card?

  • Impossible to install firefox on Windows 7

I had problems with the update Firefox v25. I have Avast Antivirus installed and running Windows 7. Given that I could not install updated, I uninstall Firefox. I've traced the permissions changed for the installation of adobe acrobat xi temp folder.
Apparently, adobe made the changes to plug a security hole which they could not solve.
change the permissions as they did affect many programs that need to use temporary folders to function correctly.

hope that this info clears things up for you all.

    solution.
goto the following folder in the user account from your computer.

Right-click on the Temp folder and select Properties.
Click the Security tab at the top.

    Read & execute

    Read
    Now click on apply
    Now click on ok
your programs can now properly use your case temp again.

  • Can not stop iCloud Install at the Windows prompt in iTunes

I get this prompt in iTunes for Windows (twice in an hour now) asking me to "Install iCloud for Windows?" with a button "ICloud download for Windows...» "and a button"Remind Me later "; the only other button is the red X button in the upper right, which I already clicked before. I'm just trying to sync my library.

    http://imgur.com/GGkib45

How can I stop this? I don't need 'Photo Stream' on my PC... It's too intrusive and disrespectful of Apple to ask me about it with no option of disengagement. Apple has not generally been seller insisting with their products, and it makes me less confident of them.

What you might try is to go and install iCloud on your PC.  Then disconnect from iCloud, and uninstall it according to the bottom of this link:

I recently changed my OS from Windows to Ubuntu 8.1 and in so doing I actidently deleted Windows 8.1.  I like Ubuntu, but I can't do my job, so when I went to start the Windows backup utility, I realize he was missing. I was forced to download Windows 7. It took me a few days to get Windows back operational. The problem is that it is not detect all types of WiFi adapters. I can ' connect to internet at all. I think the problem is that the drivers for Windows 8 is not compatible with the necessary drivers for windows 7. I have to say Windows is not picking up any type of network adapters, is not even say that in Device Manager.

To sum up, I basically installed Ubuntu from Windows 8.1, Ubuntu, and Windows 7. I need a way to install a driver to allow me to use the inernet, any suggestion?

For some reason any driver downloads associated with this model are missing from the HP support site.  I found a Realtek wireless driver that should give you at least wireless in another place.  Try this: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_132572_1

  • Cannot install itunes for windows - error: Apple Application Support is required to run Itunes Helper. Uninstall and reinstall (as I did twice)

Cannot install itunes for windows - error: Apple Application Support is required to run Itunes Helper. Uninstall and reinstall (as I did twice)

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

  • Install Ubuntu with Windows 10 problems.

    Hello

I had problems trying to install Ubuntu with Windows 10 (and Linux Mint also has problems). When I try to mount my hard drive (with 10 Windows on it), it says that Windows is put into hibernation. I want to install Ubuntu with Windows and not to clean install. Ubuntu detects my external hard drive and said: «There are currently no operating system installed...» ', but it does not detect my hard drive with Windows 10 on it.

    Thanks for any help,

    DaComputer Guy

Sometimes, when the quick start is activated, it can cause Linux to correctly identify the Windows partition as being in the State of hibernation. Try to disable the quick start and see if it solves the problem:

    1. open the Control Paneland turn the mode icons

    2. in the list, go to Power Options

    3. in the left pane, click choose the power buttons what

    4. scroll down and uncheck the Quick start

  • Cannot install Games for Windows Live

I need to install Games for Windows Live to play several games on this laptop.

When I run gfwlivesetup, all downloads very well and gets to the point where it installs GFWL and I get the following error every time:

"An error occurred during the installation of assembly ' Microsoft.VC90.CRT, version ="9.0.21022.8", publicKeyToken ="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"processorArchitecture ="x 86", type ="win32 "'. See Help and Support for more information. »

Looking through several log files, I discovered the error to be (0x8007078f) code that relates to, "connection failed: the machine you log on is protected by an authentication firewall." The specified account is not allowed to authenticate on the machine. »

So two things come to mind. The account is authenticated and firewall. Well, my account is an administrator account and right click on gfwlivesetup and choose "run as Administrator" does not change a thing. Well, screw the router, I just take the right out of my router modem jack and plug rather the ethernet of my laptop, without going through all the ports that can be blocked. The only firewall that is up and running (the only one installed) is the MS OS firewall, so let's just turn this baby off and still the same error.

So if we ignore all the error code (0x8007078f) completely, then we can treat the error originally presented... I see basically: processorArchitecture = "x 86", type = "win32".

Well, I'm running a Windows 7 64 - Bit, and my processor is a Core i7-740... I am out of the resources here. I have seen many people having the same problem or similar (Google reveals a lot). So if someone is willing to stick with me throughout this, I intend to see resolved (at least for me). I only pray that as I did not reinstall Win 7 or make repairs. They do not understand all of these DVDs with the laptop.

    Thanks in advance,

I found that the Windows Modules Installer Service is the service responsible for the error. It is configured to start automatically.
