Install issues on VIsta 64 Ultimate

I have a 64 Vista Ultimate Machine that I am trying to install VMServer2 on.  It has all updates from MS SP1 included.  It manages the installation and acts like everything is good to go, I reboot and are unable to the admin page.  Acts like it is not there at all.  I've seen mentioned in other threads of an Apache Tomcat service.  I have no service name in the services.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ray

But you have VMware Server Web Access (exec path ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware "//RS//VMwareServerWebAccess).

Review services with VMware (are they started), what kind of error you have according to "Unable to get to the admin page"

I tried to install several times without success.  I don't even get an error message!  The installation box runs through the routine of preparation and then closes without any report either.

I did some research and found quite a long thread on this forum since 2009 by a person called Summerbreeze who seemed to have a similar problem.  After several posts back the thread died suddenly without any apparent resolution.  Apparently, it is possible to get this game to work on Vista because I keep seeing questions and reports on various hardware issues with Vista users.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64, SP2, on a workstation Intel S5000VXNSATA that has two processors dual core Xeon 5130 and 4 GB of RAM.  My video configuration is a dual monitor connected to a graphics NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI card that carries the 256 MB of RAM on board.  I have 2 hard drives of 160 GB configured in RAID 0, but I have only about 50 free BM for the moment.  I am currently compressing readers in an attempt to free up space.

  • Home installation of XP on Vista 64 Ultimate VPC, activation issues

I have the motherboard Intel & CPU (Intel Core 2 Quad CPU) running Vista Ultimate 64, I installed from the CD.  Previously used some XP software (Lotus 123 and Word Pro and Word Perfect & Quatro Pro) not to operate smoothly in the installer with Vista, or Vista is best MS OS I have used to date.  I studied MS Virtual PC 2007, installed on the desktop and it works well.  I installed XP Home and the incriminated on virtual PC and all software works better than ever and I don't have to convert one hundred archived files I need little frequent access to because they have been created there with these programs from 10 to 15 years because the PC is "networked" to the Vista machine to transfer files but is not exposed to security issues by avoiding the internet connection.

There's a rub.  XP Home comes from a CD that I provided by Dell with a PC, I have purchased from them in 2000 ~  It was shipped on a CD of the operating system with the computer and twice, 2003 & 2006, I had to erase completely the C drive and pure install the operating system.  Both times I've been required to product key entry and when installing a semi automated of registration took place via internet.  When I used this same CD to install XP on Virtual PC, never asked me the product key.  At the end of installation, I was directed to activate the product, either via the Internet, phone or delay, but after 30 days, software (XP) would not work.  Because I choose not to have V PC connected to the web, I chose the method of telephone connection and followed.  At the end of the process a direct tech said that it was not a valid copy of XP.

I have not used XP provided by Dell, as I booted Vista box, then how the hell is the software I've bought from them no not a valid copy.  What viable alternatives can I, if, before the purchase of another Internet licensed XP software?

I have error code 8024200d when you try to update and install SP1 for Vista. I'm currently running Vista Ultimate. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!  Matt

    Matt,

The 8024200d result code indicates WU_E_UH_NEEDANOTHERDOWNLOAD
Update Manager did not install the update because it must be downloaded again.
Suggest you download and Save the complete stand-alone package of Vista SP1.

Links to the standalone versions are on this page because you validate that the edition of Vista is x 86 (32-bit) or x 64 (64-bit). You can see the architecture of the system of opening in the Panel and next to the search System system type: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Before attempting to apply the SP1 please consider this information-

If you choose to install Windows Vista SP1 via the standalone installer available on the Microsoft Download Center, Microsoft recommends that you first check Windows Update and install all drivers in option. Read the Articles in the Knowledge Base 948187 and 948343 for more information.

Suggest you to create a folder on the root drive (the drive where Windows is installed, usually C:\) and name SP1.
Move the downloaded Service Pack in the newly created folder.
Disconnect all the devices, printer, external USB hard drive, etc.

Then, Configure the system starts in a clean condition
After you restart the worm as a clean boot, apply SP1.

MS Vista was preinstalled on my computer. (I bought it new.) It did not come with a MS Vista program disc.) My hard drive has crashed and I need to replace it. What should I do to get the Vista OS on my new hard drive.

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

What is an OEM of Windows 7 license, or a license to retail that you have bought yourself?

If preinstalled license of Windows 7 OEM or system integrator, it is related that it is installed on the original computer.

With the help of different methods to reinstall the hard drive for a clean reinstall Vista formats.

Here are the different methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

I think that the decision of the antivirus program is a personal opinion

I put t like McAfee and Norton because they need a lot of system resources and do a slower computer.
I prefer AntiVir and Kaspersky Security suite. The two programs have good scan engine and don t need a lot of system resources. They are easy to use to use it.
AntiVir is free but it s just an antivirus. Kaspersky Security suite also contains a firewall, antispam filter and more.

It s your choice what program you are using. ;)
