We stop at installation of ArcGis for windows of the road updates. After you run the windows updates XML Core Services 4 SP2 (KB973688) and an update of security for the same (KB954430) I went back to check the windows update list and he said "no updates installed on this computer" also, nothing has been shown and list of windows features box was empty. Tried to roll back to a previous time, but that doesn't seem to work. Automatic update still seems to work, but we cannot see the list so that we can remove individual updates... What is happening and what can be done, any ideas, thank you.

It offers a solution to change the registry size limit. It seemed risky, but it worked all updates are now visible and windows features on_off shows what should be. Two updates came back and auto installed but now did the damage. They do not appear on the list of Windows Update, but the rest don't. Maybe install Arcgis was the culprit

  Don t know what modem you have and need this modem but I recommend checking that my modem manufacturer supplied installation instructions.
  You should also visit the modem manufacturer for more information about the new software, installation or updates

  PS; usually, you can uninstall the software installed in the Panel-> Add & Remove software.

  Otherwise, I recommend tool called CCleaner. It cleans the operating system, the registry and it s useful to remove the software from the HARD drive.

  Make sure that your router is set to a fixed channel wireless as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto '.  Try each of the channels one at a time.  Make sure they are spaced at least 5 feet.

  However, if you have a gateway device (modem + router), all gateway devices are terrible for connectivity and wireless performance.   If this does not work, suggest you put this bridge in full bridge mode device and install your own router of high quality that YOU have full control over.

  Download wireless network drivers

  The next attempt to uninstall the old software has failed (what a surprise displayed the same error message as mentioned above)

  Tried to use the old device and now it don't work either.

  All my printer ports are gone!  They still exist in the registry - but when I go to try to choose a port for a printer to use the list is empty.  I can add a new TCP/IP port and it shows in the Ontario Regulation, but not in the list.  Help!

  Round trip that far with the system restore is not a good idea. System Restore is best used to solve immediate problems. I would no more than perhaps a week, week-1/2. Which printers are installed and how – local or network printers? The first Question of troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what has changed between the time things worked and the time they do not have? MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
