Install problem COD file

Hi all

I know it's important to look for answers before posting and I spent several hours to do.  I found a few related messages, but the solutions did not resolve my problem.

I have a J2ME application that is fully tested for the game.  It works fine when it is installed as a pair of jad/jar on each Simulator and device I've tried.  And the midlet icon appears in the interface of the phone, just as it should.

The game uses no RIM specific libraries or modules.  As a jad/jar pair, the same build runs on dozens of non-blackberry devices.  The code in the jar detects that the phone is a blackberry using System properties and the game is its own minor configuration to look nice on a blackberry.

The next step is to convert the application into a cod file and sign it.

You use the JDE 6.0, I made a new project, imported the jad/jar and run the Build command.  The cod was created, and accordingly modified jad.  So far so good.

I have my signature identification information, and once again, using the JDE, I ran request Signatures.  The interface reported success.  No problems.

The cod file is 207 k and consists of 4 cod files.  I read the instructions for this case and unpacked the cod file in its 4 cod files.  App.COD, 1.cod - app, app - 2.cod, app3.cod.

I've posted four cod files as well as the jad file on my server, the server apache even where I serve regularly jar/jad files.

I have triple checked the mime types in the .httaccess file.  Mime types are correct for jar, jad and cod.

I point the browser on the Blackberry 6.0.0.337 Simulator 9800 to the jad file.  I get the download window with the properties of jad and the download button.  I click Download.  If I do this a second time, I get the button replace, so the Simulator think that the file has been downloaded, in this case.

It seems that the files are for download.  The watch cursor appears 4 times, probably once for each file in cod.  No errors.

At the end of the download, I get a message "the application has been installed successfully" and an OK button.  But, no run button, as I get with the installation of the pot.  I click OK.

I exit the browser and return to the main screen.  There is no download folder.  The game is not in the folder games or Applications.  If I go to Options/Applications, the game is not listed there.

If I menu click the Options/Applications window, I get: JVM 104 Eception NullPointerException error.  However, I had not yet tried to run the application.  A stack trace turned up a few odd lines:
UI - EUI no face is detected
VM - BORK
However, I do not know what generated those lines or when.

By the way, I also tried to download the full 207 k cod or in this case, I get the 907 error expected because the jad file is referencing files of cod that the server could not find as separate files.

I also tried to download other simulators, for example 5.0.0.54 5 9700.  As above, the files seem to download very well and I get the message: "the application has been installed successfully" and an OK button.  On this Simulator, there is a download folder, but it is empty.  The game is not in games or in the Applications folder.

On this Simulator, I go in the Options/Applications, and there is an entry for my game.  The title of the game is OK, but there is no icon.  I opened the entry and get title properties and a delete button.  There is no run button.  It shows the installed date and another button for the properties of the Module.  It also shows the size correctly and the signatory IDs.

I also tried this procedure on a physical device, the AT & T 8300.  I had the same behavior as the 9700 Simulator.  Again, there is no problem with installation of the jad/jar.  The problem is with the jad/cod/COD-1/cod-2/COD-3

Why is - this game appearing to successfully download and install successfully but apparently not be installed can thus be run?

Thank you for your time.
Alan Weiler

I think I found the problem.  I skipped a step during the cod using a jar of J2ME as a source of files.

In the projectroperties:Application panel, I do not enter the name of my main class name of the Midlet main class field.  Apparently this area causes the main class to be the entry point.

With the class entered into this field and re - build the cod file and new signing, I was able to download and run the game on a device.

It is not possible.  However, you can install two cod files at the same time by adding the library COD to your ALX file or JAD file.

  • Problem signing my COD file

I signed up for the signature code and received 3 *.csi of BB files. I followed all the instructions and saved each CSI file according to the instruction. Each of the 3 files has been saved successfully.

I'm using RIM BlackBerry JDE 4.6.0 and JDK1.6.0.

I have windows vista installed as an operating system.

    I have also NetBeans 6.5.0.

Now in my C:\Program Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.6.0\bin he following files

    1 sigtool.db

    2 sigtool.csk

Now when I go through SigningTool or JDE to sign my COD file then it shows some files require signature. Now when I click on request or to revoke , and then it displays "Cannot request signatures until this application has been registered with sign all necessary authorities."

Accoding to all the post I have searched on BB forums, you need all these things for the signature, I have and still I am facing the problem. I have even sent to BB Dev Support but still no answer, sound very very slow in response.

Can someone please help me on this...

Thanks for any help in advance!

The lines in sigtool.db of signing authorities three default of RIM should look like this:

    RBB=123456789http\://www.rim.net/Websigner/servlet/BBAppsRRT=555555555http\://www.rim.net/Websigner/servlet/RuntimeRCR=987654321http\://www.rim.net/Websigner/servlet/CryptoRIM

The 123456789, 555555555 and 987654321 are the customer ID under which you are registered with the appropriate signing authorities. Usually, you have the same ID of client for signing authorities three above the RIM.

If you well to activate your. Files CSI (sent by RIM) correctly (your private-public key pair contained in the sigtool.csk has been correctly generated and the public key has been saved with the RIM in the process), then you should be able to manually recreate the sigtool.db. Find an e-mail with the. CSI files and customer ID finds the names of the clips. CSI files. The files are named as follows: customer-RRT -.csi. Then recreate the sigtool.db using the above model and your client code.

PLS, someone has a clue what the problem. ?

    Thaks and regards.

    Hi @hmorzariya,

    I see two options:

    1. the 'UltraLiteJ - 3.cod' the file has not been signed with success.

    2. the "RIM-COD-SHA1-5' does not match."

    3. the size of the cod is missing.

Signed the file on your own?

I think you might need to update the JAD after that you sign the COD file...

  • Api secure / 64 k .cod file still a problem?

    Hi all

Got a soft but that will not be installed out app world after a change of logo, works perfectly when put on a device directly. Check the signature and all is good. Change has however led to the latest being 64 k .cod file.

    Is this even a question?

No idea how to get incident developer support by phone rather than simply email? It is business critical and I need a new version approved sooner rather than later if possible to fix this.

OK, the new version is active and has solved the problem.

It does not include an image added to the directory of resources, change the last .cod file size, but I don't know if it was the fix.

    Thanks for all the help!

  • Can we install COD files without user intervention

    Hello

    I have two questions

    (1) can I install COD speed without user intervention (for example: in a jsp page page I wil point to the jad file)

and if they click on the jad file, it should automatically install without askin for any guest user)

    (2) after the installation of the cod file and when the user runs it will ask for the connection to the http site I mentioned in

My midlet. It can be direct without the prompt of the user.

He has not designed a how to bypass security, because that would be a big security problem.

There is no default security settings that are applied to the newly installed application, and application permissions could be edited as well. If the device is not on BES permissions are changed by the user. You can look at the options > Advanced Options > Applications > Menu. By default, application has no permission to create the connection to the network. In newer operating system, you can ask the user to activate certain permissions using http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/4.3.0api/net/rim/device/api/applicationcontrol/Application...

  • Problems of the JAD and COD file

I was testing a blackberry app and it installed without any problems. I made some changes to code today and he stopped same download to the device correctly. After some digging around in the .jad file, I noticed it's all suddenly you're looking for a brother COD (NomMonProjet - 1.cod) file although this cod file is not created when I build the project. Now, I can't get the app to install at all (it works well in the emulator).

Any ideas as to why this started happening and how I can fix this problem?

Sorry guys, tried to search the forums for this and found nothing. Problem was I didn't know what to look for. I finally got the app to download and got an error 907 invalid COD . A search on that quickly gave me my answer. I added an image that made the application to big - brother COD file creation and makes it impossible to install over the air.

  • problem code install 1607 "impossible to get commonfilesfolder directory".

first of all, I faced a problem code 1607, then I followed the page guide on this subject. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/888019/en

But the IsScript7 can be installed for the same reason of "unable to get the commonfilesfolder directory", and it is read as the installation wizard was interrupted.

then I can not find the 'security' tab or the box "total control", (EN a Chinese system may be different)

and I don't want to reinstall XP

is there another way to solve this problem?

    Thank you very much

It can be due to a virus in your computer if, download and run Combofix. Since the web link below

Hope that the issue will be resolved.
  • installed in BB10 *.jar or *.cod file?

    Hey it's cool today.

I want to install my jad file... (developed 7.1 OS) to BB10.

Install BB10 is supported to the jad (or cod) file?

    or after renovation to install?

I was expecting to hear good news...

    Thnaks.

Sorry, not good news today. Of legacy devices BBOS have been programmed in Java. BlackBerry 10 can applications can be developed in several languages (C++, JavaScript, QML, HTML5, etc.) but NOT Java, since there is no BB10 Java virtual machine. There is no way to run an app built for Legacy BBOS on BB10.

  • Problems with the .cod files

    Hello

I'm selling my app in MobiHand but I'm having a problem downloading my app to download.  I am trying to download my .jad and .cod files but I get this error message:

"Some of the COD files mentioned in the JAD file, are not uploaded"

If I look in my .jad file I can see a reference to a - 1.cod beside that file: RIM-COD-URL-1:

I read that if you change the extension of the .cod file in a zip file, you can then extract other .cod files.  This has not worked for me. I have only 1 file of cod in my build directory.  I use the eclipse plugin.

    Thanks for any help.

Make sure you are deleing files JAD and cod before making your build of 'production '.

If you app has crossed the line of 64K at a time, then came back, your JAD will still retain this obsolete reference to the unused COD file.

  • Problem with the conversion of Midlet (jad/jar) cod file (Jasymca 2.0)

    BB Storm last official OS.

There is this wonderful program called Jasymca 2.0 which is a combination of programs of mathematics MATLAB and MAXIMA of high-end (subset to fit) and written in J2ME as a MOPED. To see a demo of it, go to http://webuser.fh-furtwangen.de/~dersch/jasymca2/indexEN.html and click on demo on the left. It's quite impressive... able to make the symbolic math and math matrix among others. The ultimate calculator for a PDA... and the best I could find out there.

The only problem is that it is written in J2ME as a MIDLET and the runtime is stored as a combination of jad/jar. Now, I tried the standard conversion using the CAP as follows...

    CAP import = "C:\Program Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.7.0\lib\net_rim_api.jar" code name is jasymca-midlet jad is Jasymca.jad Jasymca.jar

It seems to work very well. There are a few warnings about unused variables, but that's fine. The last line was "No Errors".

.. .and he left me with a file .cod 229K

When I insert it in my blackberry through javaloader, it loads very well.

However, when I look in my download directory I 2 files related to Jasymca and not running.

I suspect that it is because the cod file is too big. Is there another step I can do for the cod of the loadable file?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    -Donald

It takes more time than I expected.

There is a preprocessor directives in the source files and to leave JDE to understand these guidelines, I need to modify the jdp.

    I stopped the investigation

But I will say that I found.

icons and data files must be located in the default folder.

If the root folder of the package is src\

path of the icon should be: src\myicon.png

for now the icons are located in the src\icons folder

in this case the image files are not accessible from the BlackBerry App.

The second: there are some files showed up as the symbol file name first.

JDE does not add these files to the project.

I think that the best way would be to contact the developer of Jasymca and talking to him about the Jasymca and porting for BlackBerry

  • How update you an application installed with the Blackberry Storm update .cod files?

    Hello

I was sent to some application software for my Blackberry Storm 9500. I managed to install the basic software using the BB Desktop Manager normal software, however, there are four files as sitting there, that look they are there to install, update the software - records are different on different BlackBerry names "4.2.1", "4.3", "4.5" and "4.6" - my knowledge limited, I think that this refers to operating systems...

I guess I would need to install the file 4.6 .cod file, however, I just can't handle it all. The Director of the office, I can only try to update o/s handset, but I can't actually update individual applications that I see!

Can someone tell how to do this, because he's completely beat me? Be nice... I'm new!

the alx file is only a link to the file of the Cod. DM load the alx file, search for information on the cod and load the cod on the device.
In cod, it has compiled software.

Installation of OTA is similar. The jad file contains settings and links to the cod file.

The javaloader.exe (comes with the JDE) you can install cod files directly.

There is also an activeX plugin (which uses javaloader) to load the cod files on a device.

  • Used to install two piece COD file

I have a java application that generates a 101 k COD file.  JDE 4.5 usefully split it into several files of cod like this:

    myappname. COD - contains:

    myappname. COD

    myappname - 1.cod

When I try to install this on the air he says he can't find myappname - 1.cod.  When I use the Desktop Manager installation, it works.  How can I make it work online?

Also have no control over the name of the COD files?  Why should I use a recursive naming scheme using the same name for the first COD and COD container?  And again, why use several cod?  (The first question is the most important)

    Thank you

    Gerry

When you have compiled your application the cod file sign.

Now if this is larger that 64 k rename in file generated and try to unpack.

If it cannot be decompressed rename to * .cod, there is no file brother inside.

If it can be unpacked, remove the zip file once it is uncompressed.

Now place file jad and cod extracted all the files to a folder on your web site.

Below there is an instruction how to set the MIME types for files.

In the ota file, create a file with the name .htaccess

Please note a dot symbol before the name.

Add content in this file and save it.

    AddType text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad
    Jar of AddType application/java-archive
    AddType application/vnd.rim.cod cod
