Install Vista SP 1 - error 0x8007000D, and al Code.

I have a laptop HP (HP Pavilion 6707us) comes with pre-installed Vista (32-bit). It has been necessary for me to do a system restore on my laptop using the "F11" key and now I am trying to install updates, I get several errors, not only with the updates but also many other errors. I wonder if all my problems are due to the fact that I can't get Vista SP1 and other updates installed? I spent the greater part of the last 2 days trying various things I found in the forums and so far nothing worked. The exact steps I take are the following:

1. I have downloaded and run the reset Windows Update Tool and tool system found at (http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9665683) update

2. I downloaded and and ran the update found at (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=b4d90b06-c27d-4483-bc1f-04d43fa7b293) system preparation tool

I tried to install SP1 even once, does not.

3. I downloaded and saved on the desktop Windows Vista SP1 from the recommended link (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=f559842a-9c9b-4579-b64a-09146a0ba746&DisplayLang=en)

4. I have installed Windows Vista SP1 in clean boot Mode, follow these steps...

a. click 'Start', type: MSCONFIG in the search box and press ENTER.

b. click 'Services', check the box "Hide all Microsoft Services" and click on 'Disable All' (if it's not gray).

c. click 'Start', click 'Disable all', click 'OK' and restart the computer.

I tried to reinstall again and received the following error message:

"An internal error occurred during the installation of the service pack. Error code: 0x8007000D. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=101139 for more details

I'm really at a loss here and could use very little help. Another major problem, I have, it's that the system keeps telling me that my version of Windows is not valid, even if it has been validated on the Microsoft site and HP has confirmed my key. In addition, one minute my sound works and the other, he says that there is no audio device installed? All these problems may result from the inability to install all the updates?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi D_Clary,

I suggest to follow the steps below and check if this can help you trouble the Windows Vista service pack 1 problem on your computer.

Method 1

Access the link below and follow the steps proposed by Darin Smith MS on 9 November 2007 and try to install Service pack 1 on your computer and check if it helps.

http://social.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/genuinevista/thread/78a4e88c-2786-4871-97C8-e98e35d06b1f

Method 2

You can runSystem File Checker (SFC scan) on the computer and try to install Service pack 1. The tool File Checker system to determine if the problem you are experiencing is caused by one or more system files that are used by Windows, the System File Checker utility analyzes the system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

a. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.

b. right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

c. at the command prompts, the following line and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

When the analysis is complete, try to install Service Pack 1 for Vista and check if it installs successfully.

Access the link below for more information about the System File Checker tool

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936212

Also, try to temporarily disable the security software of the computer and try to install Service pack 1 and check if it helps. Later, re - enable security software after installing Service pack 1.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

Thank you and best regards,

Install Java in the clean boot and see if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: Follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

  • X 86 Vista SP1 Home Premium fails when you try to install Vista SP2 Standalone - error 0x800f0823 - lots of useful information

    Greetings,

I am trying to install the SP2 update. For a long time, I had not to install updates, many of them still kep default without obvious reason. However, I ran Vista update readiness tool and has been able to install updates at least 23 were stuck because of the fault of those previously and the latest update is Windows Update says I need Service Pack 2 (SP2). I downloaded the standalone form my version of Vista Home Premium x 86 version and tried to install it and it will appear as follows:
Then, he breaks down and gives me the following screen:
The error code given is 0x800f0823 of the failure of the installation of SP2.

The %SYSTEMDIR%/WindowsUpdate.log gives this as the error message:
    : Updates automatic initialization.

Anyway, I saw this error message and in a post, he suggested that I run the following command in the terminal:
    sfc/scannow
And he said that there was some corrupted files and I need to restart.
Here is a link to the CBS after the first sfc scan: http://www2.ryankaskel.com/misc/logs/CBS1.log
I ran the scan again, and here's the reuslt:
    C:\Users\ryan>sfc/scannow

Start of the phase of verification of the scanning system.
    Full check of 100%.
Windows resource protection did not find any breach of integrity.
I retry the stand-alone installation of Vista SP2 and it fails with the error message.

  • Cannot install updates for WIndows - error 80070490 and installation disc?

original title: error 80070490 and installation disc?

    Dell, Vista, x 64 laptop.

I can not install updates, including Service Pack 2 and IE 8. I managed to fix the other error messages, but this one is a winner.

I can't follow the steps here because I don't have an installation DVD. The laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD-ROM internal drive and did not come with a disc because everything was preinstalled. Even if I had a disc, my computer does not recognize the CD/DVD-ROM external drive when it is plugged in (a problem at a time!), so it would always help. "The System Update tool does not work on this machine, probably because of that pesky little" compatible operating systems: Windows Vista Service Pack 2 "requirement. I so need SP2 to download the tool which will allow my computer to install SP2? Nice little catch-22 there. I agree with the irony. I disagree with not being able to install updates at all, ever.

Is it possible to re - install without a disk? Can I solve this problem at all or I'll have to take the laptop to Best Buy and ask them to do some voodoo Geek Squad to it?

    Hello

Check if your computer has a recovery partition.
If the computer has a recovery partition, use the recovery partition to restore the computer to factory settings.
Note:   All programs and data will be lost.  You can make a backup of all important data and reinstall programs.

Turns out that the Windows event log service had been previously disabled (it conflicted with another program running).  Once activated, I was able to install the flight without problem.  Thank you for your help.

  • I installed Vista in a Virtualbox VM and the product key does not work, how to fix this? I use the same product key supplied with the computer originally.

I bought a Dell Precision T3400 of Dell Financial Services and it came with Vista Business installed.  I installed a new hard drive and installed Vista in a Virtualbox VM by using the recovery disk that came with the computer, and the product key does not work for activation.  I get a message that says I need to activate Windows, but he says that the product key is not valid.  How can I fix it?

    Thank you

If you have reinstalled the OEM of Vista Business copy on the new hard drive, as Bill says you can't also use it in a virtual machine.

You can only reuse your OEM of Vista professional copy if it is no longer used on the computer. Do you have what operating system installed on the new hard drive? It was an upgrade copy or complete the license?

If you used a license to upgrade to another edition of Windows to replace your copy of company then Vista Business license is still in use (for upgrade) and you cannot reuse it in your virtual machine.

However if you replaced Vista business with a copy of the full license of another edition then you are able to use the OEM copy in a virtual machine, but only on the same computer. You must use the product key from COA to the label on the computer. The product key is put in the copy OEM cannot find the SLIC table on the host motherboard. You must use the phone activation from within the virtual machine. Click on start in Vista Business and typing "slui 4. Do not meet the audio guests until it asks you if you want to speak to an agent. Explain that you have completely replaced the OEM copy with a copy of the full license of the new windows and now want to use the OEM copy in a virtual machine on the same computer. Agent will then give you the activation string. Remember that the virtual machine is not transferable to any other computer.

  • I bought Windows Vista Home Premium and got a free upgrade to Windows 7. Can I install Vista on a second computer and still be legal?

I bought Windows Vista Home Premium and got a free upgrade to Windows 7, which I have installed on Computer1.  Can I install Vista on a second computer computer2 and still be legal?

Is same question with versions of Microsoft office, if I have multiple versions allowed to install an earlier version on a second computer and stay legal?

No, unfortunately not, when you upgraded to Windows 7 indeed renounce you your right to use Vista. But keep the product key and Vista media where you need to perform a clean installation of Windows 7 again.

For MS Office (according to license as some allow multiple installations) If this older version is not in use you can install it on this computer second no questioned asked.

  • I am trying to download Windows updates but get error 80070641 and 641 codes

I am trying to download updates and receive the error 80070641 and 641

Original title: problem downloading of updates

    Hello

    1. are you aware of any hardware or software changes, prior to the beginning of the question?
    2. the updates you are trying to install? (Number of KB)?
    3. you try to install the updates manually or Windows updates?

Follow the steps mentioned below and check.
Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network at the time the anti-virus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Note: After a repair, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

Method 4: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.
