Install VMware View Webclient

Hello everyone,

when a user tries to conenct the first time with our view security server (for example https://10.10.10.10) and connect, to say that he had to install the client from the view, when he gets prompted it to do so, the system to say, he needs to have administrive rights to install the client.

How can it be installed as an admin on this machine?

MCP, VCP

Keep in mind if you upgrade after that users will be asked to upgrade their client or continue to use the former client.   It might be useful to inform users not upgrade.

Ensure that the domain name is typed correctly. If the name is correct, click details to correct that information.

You may first have to install ESX/ESXi in your server.

    • After successful installation, connect to the respective client server using vShphere.
    • Try to create 3 virtual machines and install Microsoft 2 k 8 operating systems.
    • The first virtual machine, you can use it as Server Active directory micorsoft.
    • Then you can you use it to vCenter server.
    • Third one you can use for connection server vmware view.
    • You may need to create two more additional, as virtual machines VMware view comments and the other as a client of the view. You can either install windows XP/windows 7 for the VMS in the thesis.

  • Problem in installing VMware View Server connection

    Hello

As the first step to install the VMware View Manager, I tried to install the connection to the VMware View server on a virtual machine to Windows 2003 Server SP2. This machine is added to a domain under our Windows Active Directory. I can connect to the machine using user accounts that are on the directory to active directory. My problem is that when I try to install the view connection server, I get an error message indicating

"The computer is a member of a domain, but no server connection was found. Please make sure that the computer is properly connected to a domain and that a domain controller is available before to perform this installation again'.

Because I can log into the machine using accounts in active directory, I assume that the computer is properly connected in the field. I also confirmed that there is a domain controller in active directory. I tried to do the installation under an account that has administrative privileges for the object active directory, but also a local administrator account. Could someone suggest where I could go wrong?

    Thanks in advance

It simply means that the client does not like your server certificate.  You should be able to click on configure SSL and change the certification autour options to make it work.

  • Names of certificate VMware View 6.1

    Hello world!

I intend to install vmware view 6.1 with two connection on the LAN Server and security server on the DMZ.

I wonder what names I need on the certificate?

my login server names will be VDI1. MyDomain.Local, VDI2. MyDomain.Local

my security server will be VDI3 (not domain joined server)

my file on my public DNS is seen. Mydomain.com that guide to the Security server.

I have internal CA server that can issue the certificate for VDI1. MyDomain.Local and VDI2. MyDomain.Local.

I have a wildcard certificate for *. Mydomain.com (it does not contain one of my internal server names)

    1. can I use my wildcard certificate to connect to security without needing a server error?

    2. where should I install the generic cert? on the Security Server and all servers connection?

    3. what happens if I want to connect to internal network VDI do I have to install my certificate of internal CA with the internal names to my connection servers?

    4. because my login server will be connected both internal external, it uses internal cert (VDI1/2.MyCompany.local) for internal connection and external cert (*.) Mydomain.com) for external connection?

    Thank you.

    Taylor.

I do not recommend to use a certificate with wildcards on connection servers.

Instead, you can issue a certificate for each connection to the server: VDI1. MyDomain.Local and VDI2. MyDomain.Local

In this way, the connection will be reliable when connection from inside.

On the internet you connect on the server for security only, so you only need a trusted certificate installed on the Security server.

If you issue a certificate from your CA, it will work but the clients that connect from the internet will not approve this certificate.

If you want a certificate approved by anyone connecting from the internet, you must purchase a certificate of a CA like verisign etc.

In both cases, the certificate must be issued with name: see . Mydomain.com and installed on the server for security only.

    Hope this helps

  • VMware View 5.3.1 and functional level Windows 2012 R2 Active Directory

    Hello

    As I read in https://www.vmware.com/support/view53/doc/horizon-view-531-release-notes.html

VMware View Horizon does not support the Windows Server 2012 Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) domain functional level. You can use Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 AD DS with Horizon of VMware View domain functional levels.

Does this mean I can install VMware View 5.3.1 in an environment with Win 2012 R2 AD set to Win 2003/2008/2008 R2 functional level?

    It is a facility supported?

    Kind regards

  • Customizing the portal of VMWare View 5 Page

    HELO all,.

We test Vmware view 5 for an implementation of the medim scale possible. We have all the settings and it works fine. There is one thing that the sentence is me: the Portal Page. Normally, the portal page tells you that you must install the client and it redirects you to the Vmware View client download page. I managed to find documentation that tells you how to customize and I had to show him a few links that will download the client to our own server. I have attached a screenshot with where I am now (vmwareviewcurrentportal.jpg) right; What is the best... but watch some training videos, I noticed that, after the trainer install Vmware View connection to the Portal Services looks diferent (in a better way). I've attached screenshots of what its like (VmwareViewDesiredPortal.JPG) looks like w.

Essentially: it has radio buttons in the software selection and a download button. After choosing your Customer Portal redirects you to a page (VmwareViewDesiredPortalInstructions.JPG) of the instructions.

-I know that it is a kind of model because the images to help guide are stored in C:\Program VMware View\Server\broker\webapps\ROOT\portlets\client\images on the Vmware View connection server.

The question is: how setup/activate this portal? Any help would be greatly apreciated.

    Thank you

    Adrian

Fear not, we stayed at a compatible screen for all types of customers. I'm sorry.

  • VMware View and MS Windows 7 License Manager

I'm looking to install VMware View and use Windows 7 Ent or

Pro as the guest operating system.

What are the Microsoft Licensing options?

Is the use of a server KMS, the best solution, or should I just

use a key in the specification of customization, as I did with Windows XP?

If you have a deployment of medium to high, I suggest to use a KMS server to validate the license. If you enter your MAK license and deploy several pools or in the pool even over and over again. each time Windows will activate using a new MAK license until they are all exhausted.

I just went through an installation of KMS server, and I have to say was one of install it more simple I've ever done.

  • Installation of VMware View issues

I'm trying to evaluate vmware view 4.5. So far, I have only experience with VSphere 4.1.

When I try to install VMware View Server connection I get an error that TCP Port 80 is already in use.

On this virtual machine (W2008 R2) it is only VCenter 4.1 and view composer 2.5 installed.

I have not found any role for IIS is installed, so port 80 must be available.

Or do I have to install the server connection view on another virtual machine?

Also, I found nothing to administer the View Composer.

Maybe there's a howto to install 4.5 view first?

    Thanks for any response.

To add to this a little, we do not support the login server to view being installed on the same server vCenter or any other part of the view. It must be on its own separate server.

  • Questions about VMware View

Hi, I need to provide always on desktops to remote 50 users. I have been using VMware workstation to provide these desktop computers, but it was a temporary solution that is quick and easy.

I started by installing the free ESXi which works fine except that these virtual machines are running an application that requires DirectX. When reading information VMware views looks like it's maybe the solution I need, but I can't say if she can provide always on workstations or if desktop computers are provided according to the needs. My 2nd concern is cost. I don't mind spending the money for VMware View, but looks like I have to have seen running in AD and that it will require me to install many other products such as VMware infrastructure 3.5. Someone has some good links to install VMware View and the provisioning of desktops?

When you purchase View 4.5, business or first, you get ESX and vSphere vCenter / I.  If you are supported on this part.  You don't need to buy that separately.

With respect to reviews, the guides are:

To start using the doc started get: http://pubs.vmware.com/view45/ol/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#href=get_started/t_getstarted.html

http://www.VMware.com/files/PDF/VMware-View45-evaluators-Guide.PDF -> is excellent for your POC on VMWare View.

    http://www.vmware.com/pdf/view45_installation_guide.pdf -> installation guide.

You will need to have Active Directory in your environment.  View is used to automatically configure your desktop to your users.

If you use clones of link or local mode (the ability to check your workstations), then you will need to Prime Minister, Enterprise edition will be beneficial.

    Hope this helps,
