Install Win 8 keeping the recovery OEM partitions

Hello

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion Sleekbook and it came with Windows 8 x 64 installed. Thing is that I use to make a clean install with the original disc of MS, mainly to get rid of all the bloatware of OEM pre-installed. Problem is I want to be able to use the OEM recovery partition to restore the computer to its factory condition any time.
When I start my install Win 8, here is the partition table:
Part 1 WINRE recovery 400 MB
System part 2 without label 260 MB
Part 3 untagged 128 MB MSR (reserved)
Part 4 GB 674,4 unlabeled primary
Part 5 RECOVERY 23.5 GB OEM (reserved)
Question is which one of theses are safe to delete in order to keep things HP Recovery and the mechanism of F11 keyboard shortcut?
My guess is that the part 2 3 and 4 are those that creates a normal installation of WIN 8, right? These would be the ones I want to erase?
Part 5 is obviously the HP recovery partition so I will not format it, but what is WINRE partition? A new installation of original Win 8 turns off the ability of F11 keyboard shortcut?
Thanks for your help

Hello

Recovery Windows (RE) environment is based on the environment of pre-installation Windows (PE) and can be extended to be a minimalist system to recover a broken system somehow.

Windows RE is configured in configuration data for starting a system failover for the entry of MBR. If the bootstrapper fails on the default entry, it will automatically try to boot into the recovery environment.

It is installed on the default system partition.

The recovery partition is a partition of at least 300 MB. On systems with a formatted MBR disk BIOS, the recovery partition has the type 0x27. On systems UEFI with a GPT formatted the recovery partition has the GUID.

Reinstalled Win Vista with the recovery CD that I got with my HP Pavilion, now get quick activate Windows with a new product key.  MS sticker on the tower is one that says 'Vista', no product key.  When I go to activate Windows, I offer the choice to buy another copy of Windows or enter a new product key.  A run the Genuine Advantage tool and he says it's "authentic."  HP will not help, they say I have to buy another copy of Windows from MS, but I already paid for it when I bought the machine.  What can I do?

    Hello

Saved on the HARD drive recovery image can be installed (HARD drive recovery facility) if the laptop has only factory settings. Your own experience, something like this is not possible.
To be honest I m was really asking why you didn't follow the instructions in the manuals s document for creation of recovery media.
Now, in this situation easier for you had to use this support and install the original version of OS that you got with your machine.

If you do not want to order the original recovery media is the way to try to create USB recovery media - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm

I really hope this will help you. If this does not work... then you have a problem.

  • Install Windows Vista from the recovery disk

I think the upgrade to windows 7, the official version. However, before I do that, I know that if I can downgrade to windows vista, as soon as I upgrade to Windows 7. I'm not sure that you will be able to go back to windows vista. Currently I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I also have the recovery disk. Can I install windows Vista on a recovery disk? I saw this article where they made a cd to the recovery partition and installed windows vista. Following the link to the article: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=622. If you can help me with this, that would be grateful.

There is no decommissioning as such; Installing a clean place to go back to Vista.

You can reinstall Vista recovery disk/s that you made, or with those of the manufacturer of the computer.

And if it was / is a hard youtr recovery partition, do you the recovery disks FRO it. Mick Murphy - Microsoft partner

    Is there another way?

    > Recently (by mistake), I uninstalled Microsoft OneNote 2003
Before you take your recovery disk and format the HDD all new installation, you should try to use the System Restore tool in your Windows operating system.
There is an option that allows you to enable the operating system to the point of time at the beginning.
    Maybe it will work

Data recovery has been deleted by mistake, and now I think I have some question OS.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

The only way to re-create the recovery Partition is to perform a 'factory Reset' using your recovery (flash drive) media - see the document at the following link.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03489643

If you aren't this media or is it have more, you can order a replacement from the link below.

    Support of order recovery HP.

If you have a problem with this link, see if you can order it directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

I tried to install windows xp after windows 7 but Xp instalation can not find the hard drive.
Someone told me I should reinstall the sata drivers can anyone help me?

Yes, you need to reinstall the SATA drivers or you will go to BIOS and set the SATA from AHCI mode to compatible.

But why you don t use the option of searching this forum?
There are a lot of discussions on this subject and it s not necessary to create 1000 threads on exactly the same topic. ;)

  • How to install an OS using my recovery OEM 64-bit installation CD.

How to install an OS using my OEM recovery DVD installation I originally created after I have unboxed my portable 64-bit? I initially chose 32 bit by accident, but now I want the 64 bit OS.
I have a HP Compaq 6715 b Vista Business. I don't have an option to delete my partition and create a new one. I don't have the possibility to choose 32-bit or 64-bit. I had the opportunity to choose 32-bit or 64-bit on the initial installation when I it unboxed and put in place.  How can I get to the screen that allows me to choose between 32-bit or 64-bit?

    Help, please. Thank you.

    Jimmy

    Hi, Jimmy:

I don't know the answer to this question, but if you live in the USA/Canada, you can order a set of Vista recovery disks and you should get a 32 and 64 bit DVD so much software.

Call HP at 1-800-334-5144 and ask to order a set of recovery DVD.  Be sure to let you know you want the 64-bit disk (but I think you get to the time in any case).

    It costs $10.00 per post.

  • Satellite A660 - cannot install Win 7 using the external DVD drive

    Hello!

Not so long I asked help to reinstall win 7 on my laptop.
The only option was actually in the restoration of order dvd what I did. Today, it has arrived.

Problem is, or was that some of the CD or the DVD couldn't be read for some reason any.

Now it won't boot from the cd, it says faulty hard drives.

So what I did I have pluged my detached external DVD drive and it started from that.

But just after a few seconds, she told me to '1 support recovery' and open the drive in the laptop. Tried to insert the disc - nothing, like its not inserted, tried to disable computers portable cd - nothing please help

    Hello

You should first check if the external CD/DVD drive is recognized as a boot device.
Connect the external USB CD/DVD drive and switch on the device.
    Press F12.

Now, you will see all bootable devices. Generally, the CD/DVD USB drive should appear if his support. If it does not appear, you will not be able to boot from the external USB CD/DVD drive.

In this case I recommend you to create a bootable USB flash memory and install Windows 7 from USB flash memory

  • Thunderbird does not work after installing Win 10 and the mobile profile of Win 7

I've installed Tbird 38.3.0 on a new Dell computer with Windows 10 on this (8 GB of RAM, 1 TB harddrive). I then followed these steps to put my old profile from the old computer to Windows 7:
    1. copied my profile on the Windows 7 computer on an external drive.
2 installed Tbird on the new computer Windows 10 38.3.0, but has nothing to do with it.
    3. following the instructions on the site of Thunderbird on the displacement of a profile:

      a) Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile on the Win 10 computer.
      b) Copy the profile from the external drive to the new profile folder
      c) Use Profile Manger to tell Tbird to open the new profile

    4. start Tbird.

I see my files with email in them, but there are problems:
    1. None of the Tbird dialog boxes open when I choose a command in the menu bar (including the new Message).
    2. I can't get Tbird to display the contents of a folder in the Home tab. There is only the accounts and the advanced features of the Inbox, display in the right pane, next to the folder tree. The only way to see the contents of a folder is right-click and choose open in a new tab.
    3. when I click or double-click on a folder, the contents of the file does not replace the previous folder. TBird on the Windows 7 computer, clicking a folder displays the contents of the new folder.
    4. sometimes when I Alt + Tab of Tbird, then Alt + Tab, moving the cursor of the mouse on the messages in the Inbox tab causes the message object, Date,... to disappear, leaving blank lines.

I tried to uninstall Tbird and reinstall it, but this does not solve the problem.
I tried to reboot Windows 10 but that does not solve the problem.
I don't seem to be able to download email and preview in the messages pane, but I can't open it in a separate window.

A lot of people seems to be able to run Tbird on Win10, so it should work. Any ideas on why it does not work and what I can do about it?

Thank you very much in advance!
