I want to install windows 7 and I get an error saing that I need to install via windows PE? How can I go about it?

    Hello

    1. you try to perform a new installation of Windows 7?

    2. where did you buy the Windows 7 DVD?

This particular message occurs generally if you try to perform an upgrade on the spot of a recovery disc or installation support OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) that contains a custom defined configuration and can't stand not running an upgrade installation.

The message means that you probably need to start using the installation media. You can also contact the manufacturer of your computer to determine the type of installation media that you have and to confirm what options are available when booting from the disc.

Here are some links that provide additional information about the installation of Windows 7:

Alternatively, you can consult this article to understand what is Windows PE.

  • When I tried to re install Windows XP, I received an "unexpected error" at the end of the installation. The computer then restarts and it gives me the error again.

    Hello

I did a clean install on winxp pro, it ended by an "unexpected error", it will not install, shows me the error and restart try to reinstall and same error. I checked around and it could be due to the intallation disk which was scratched and unable to read the files (I tried the disk image and failed). I made a copy of the disc as soon as possible, but it is bootable. I tried putting in the cd copied, tried to locate the file but could not (don't kn OW the drive and folder).

Is there a way to make the copy bootable cd? (in my pc, I made a copy of the Setup disk) or is it all the same to overcome this obstacle?

    Thanks in advance.

Because the migration from Windows XP to Windows 7 requires a clean install anyway, might as well you are backing up your important files and settings using Windows Easy Transfer and do a custom clean install by booting from the Windows 7 DVD.

  • Help in installing Windows 7 - blue screen of death error

    Hi all.

I bought my new laptop yesterday and I tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate on it, installation is fine, but when it comes to the "Complete the Installation" part, the screen flashes once and I see the blue screen of death. I know that there are no hardware issues or disc problems.

The laptop that I bought is a Toshiba Satelittle L50 - B - 11 c and the version of the BiOS is 1.40 if necessary.

Is it preloaded with an existing version of Windows already?

You will first need to go to the website of manufacturers for your model computer and first find out if there are native drivers in Windows 7. A large number of computers that are preloaded with Windows 8 have no native driver support for Windows 7 by the manufacturer. If there is no native driver, you will need to consider returning the machine and buying a machine preloaded with Windows 8 Pro with downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional. Or look through the catalogue of manufacturers for systems already preloaded with Windows 7, usually the business sector will have these options.

Return the laptop if it came preloaded with Windows 8 and purchase one already preloaded with Windows 7, they are always available:

  • I tried for weeks install windows updates and get this message error (s) found: code 80070645 windows has encountered an unknown error. How can I solve this problem?

    Windows Update
Error (s) found: code 80070645 windows has encountered an unknown error.
I had before the shock of two antivirus this proven system restoration started but no help.
Fix it to charge microsoft, but has not helped any.

How can we if this problem, so I can install the updates I need?

    Hi Wyattsdaddy,

    Thanks for posting your question.

Step 1: Check if Windows update-related services are set to automatic and started.

Click Start, type services.msc in the start search box, right-click to services.msc, and then click Run as administrator.

    Check the above services below:
    (a) Background Intelligent Transfer Service
    (b) cryptographic service
    (c) Windows Update

Step 2: Rename the Catroot2 folder

To rename the Catroot2 folder, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type cmd in the search box and right-click on cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
    2. at the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each line:

    net stop cryptsvc
    Ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2

    % systemroot%\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}

If any of the files that begin with tmp exist in this folder, do not remove any other files. Files .cat in this folder are necessary for installing hotfixes and service packs.

Important: Do not rename the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot. The Catroot2 folder is automatically recreated by Windows, but the C:\windows\system32\catroot folder is not recreated if is renamed the folder C:\windows\system32\catroot.

Step 3: Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services

To register .dll files that are associated with Cryptographic Services, follow these steps:

  • When you try to install Windows XP SP3, I get an error that I need to have service pack 1 installed first.

    Upgrate XP problems

    Hello

I have an older version of XP (2002) and I just reinstalled after formatting my drive. I have problems to update to sp3. I get the error: at a minimum, you must have installed SP1. If I try to install sp1a hang it up because there is no response from the server. Can you help me please?

If you have JUST done a clean install, read on. (Otherwise after return, especially if you have already installed anti-virus software.)

    SP1a is totally useless.

You can use this upgrade path:
Gold XP to XP SP2 to XP SP3.
    Here are the detailed instructions:

    1. download the installation of SP2, SP3 and IE8 files. I prefer to keep these on a USB key, but this is optional. Here are the links to all the installation of three files:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=28 (for SP2)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=24 (for SP3)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=43 (for IE8)

And if you wish, download the Setup file of a good anti-virus program. I recommend Avira free Antivirus:

    http://www.Avira.com/en/Avira-free-antivirus

Other good antivirus programs include Avast and MSE (both free):

    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/products/security-essentials

    2. disconnect Internet.

    3. temporarily disable the automatic updates.

    4. install SP2. Restart TWICE.

5 install the SP3. Restart TWICE.

6 switch to IE8. Restart TWICE.

    7 install an Antivirus software.

(What happens very often is that someone has their software antivirus running as they try to install SP3, which often translates into chaos! "This is why it must be done after installing SP3 and IE).

8 make sure that firewall Windows is activated (it should be).

(Now you can physically reconnect to the Internet.)

9 visit Windows Update to download and install only the critical security updates.

10 re - enable automatic updates.

After the back if you need guidance.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-80070490

If you receive the Windows Update 80070490 error, it means that a file (CBS Manifest) that is needed to install updates is corrupt. To correct this problem, you will need repair Windows. Repair Windows will not damage your personal files or the programs that are installed on your computer.

The System Update Readiness Tool for Windows can correct some conditions that cause Windows Update 80070490 error. You can access and run this tool by reading this Knowledge Base article on the Microsoft Web site.

If the system update readiness tool solves the problem, you will need repair Windows.

Of course a repair installation will not solve the problem if it is due to an infection of virus/malware etc.
