Install windows 8.1 lost without recovery partition

Hello?

Is this possible?

I have an Acer Aspire 5742 with 3 partitions, the normal partition, the recovery partition and system reserved. (with windows 7)

I want to install Windows 8.1, but I don't want to lose my recovery partition because in the future if I have problems, I can restore windows from there.

Thank you!

Hi kkik

Yes, the 13,00 GB partition is your recovery partition. Everything is fine!

    Dear reader,

Recently, Windows got broken on my Toshiba Satellite L650-170.
I tried to use my backup, but backup refused my backups.

After some research, the disc seems to be in good health, but all the partitions on the drive seem to be damaged in some way.

So, I'm without a Windows disk or the recovery Partition.

How can I get Windows on my laptop using the windows key attached to it?
(A friend told me that the use of another work of won´t of windows disk 7)

    Hi Peter

If you don t have access to the original recovery partition, the question is: what do you have installed on your laptop?

If you want to have the factory settings once again, you must install OS using the original Toshiba recovery disc. You can order it on http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

If you want to have clean OS install, you can use the original disc of Microsoft with the valid license code. Product key at the bottom of your laptop cannot be used for activation.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

I guess when things don't work the way they are supposed to work. Please write us with the following details.

Windows is already installed on your computer when you bought it?

If your computer was pre-installed with Windows then I suggest you to communicate with them once more, like Asus is supposed to provide you with an installation disc in Windows and then using that you can perform other recovery options. You can contact them on the link below.

    Hello

If you have a system that is qualified for the upgrade and then no. you will not lose any data. However, it s recommended you back up your system files and data that you want absolutely without danger, because things can always go wrong.

    Hello

Here's another solution, that you could use.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( it must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - IE Windows 7 Home Premium ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Images of Windows 7.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

  • Key Windows COA rubbed off, corrupted recovery partition... How to reinstall Windows?

    Hey everybody,

Windows started acting really buggy for me.  (For example, Windows Explorer restarts each time that I did a right click on the icons to view their properties.)

    I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 (or 15R) that came pre-installed with Windows 7.

I thought to upload a file .iso and reinstalling Windows in this way, but my COA rubbed down my computer and I learned that it is necessary to reactivate Windows once you reinstall completely (or have a facility in place that keeps the data intact).

Also, my recovery partition is probably corrupt, since I tried to burn the DVD using Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0 and after you have reinstalled Windows and I rebooted, it asked for the actual installation diskettes and would not go further.

Can Dell provide me with a disk that will reinstall my OS correctly, without my COA key?  I can read most of the characters after a lot of effort, but not all.  I learned a lot about backing up the data and write the whole experience license keys, that's for sure...

If anyone has any other tips that can help, I would really appreciate it.  Being asked to pay a lot of money for a new computer or operating system seems ridiculous.

    Thank you.

    Bryan

Yes.  Although there are stories of success/miss Dell sends do not record, the people, for the most part, receive the media using the form.  Warranty status has no effect on the successful requests or not.  One thing that seems to slow down or stop the process is if you are not the original owner of the filed with Dell system.

    Hello!

I think that you do not understand something wrong.
On Toshiba laptops, there is no recovery partition, they have HDDrecovery folder that contains factory settings.
I have a recovery partition you want to say is a feature of Windows Vista, not a Toshiba.
Here is a useful link to it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WinRE

HARD drive recovery file is stored on the second partition of the laptop. You can use the disk HARD recovery function if you go into the advanced boot menu, choose repair my computer and select the recovery Toshiba HDD feature.
But I think it's too late now

Burn you the Toshiba Recovery disk? Normally, you can burn the original image which is stored in the file on a DVD HARD drive recovery using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. Therefore, you always get a popup that you must do this or message do not forget.

If you don't l t this and you want the Toshiba recovery disc you must order a new one. You can do so here: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

I hope I could help you. Do you have more questions?

    Good bye

    Hello

I don't have the recovery partition on my system, but I would like to reset my Ideapad Yoga 13 to the status of the plant. Is it possible somehow? All of the guides I've seen guess my recovery partition was still intact. Thank you for your time.

    Concerning

    To reset your PC

Drag from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you use a mouse, point on the corner at the top right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down, click settings, and then click Change PC settings.)

Press or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click on recovery.

Under all delete and reinstall Windows, press or click Start.

Follow the instructions on the screen.

    Note

You will be asked if you want to remove data quickly and carefully. If you choose to quickly erase the data, some data may be recoverable using special software. If you choose to completely erase the data, it will take more time but makes it less likely data recovery.

  • HP Pavilion p6 - 2176 s: install Windows 7 on SSD without disc

    Hello

I want to install Windows 7 on an SSD (I plan on getting a Samsung 850 Evo 128 GB) but I can't get one any file or installation disk. My PC did not come with a disk, only a code produced on the case. I went to the site of software recovery of Microsoft and typed code, but he told me that the product was not supported, as it was an OEM copy. I could try to create a restoration disk using the recovery on my main hard drive partition, but I heard the average success rate that was weak. Any suggestions on how to get the OS on the SSD drive? I have a 16GB Flash Drive if necessary void.

Yes it is a way to do it.

If your hard drive still has the partition recovery on it, you can use the feature of factory restore from the Recovery Manager which will effectively drive to the same state that when you got the computer.  Coaurse, there will be a lot of bloatware which you could uninstall before cloning.

If the recovery partition does not work and you have not created discs recovery when you got the computer, you can order them from HP.

  • Reinstall Win7 without recovery partition

    Hello

I have an Inspiron 15R N5110 needs is Windows 7 OS reinstalled.  I think he might have gotten bitten by a virus, but I'm not positive about that.  The key is that there is a lot of BSODS, and sometimes when it starts up, it says that some important services running, as the event handler.

When I try to use the recovery partition after hitting F8 on startup, it cannot simply to do anything, return to the menu to start again and again.  I guess it's possible that the virus destroyed the both recovery partition.

And I have no OS CD to restore from.  I am simply out of luck?

I wouldn't, but I can * buy * a series of CD of Dell OS install?

    Sigh.

    Thank you
    Randy Stegbauer

You can request records of installation here (US only):

    support.Dell.com/.../backupcd_form

You can also download and use a 'retail' version to install and activate using your product key by phone from Microsoft (not Dell).

    www.w7forums.com/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-image-downloads-t12325.html

HOWEVER, I would test your system carefully, especially from your hard drive... what you describe could very well be a hard drive problem.  Do this before you install Windows - there is no need to install Windows on a bad drive.

The device comes with windows 7 Home Basic preinstalled.

He has only two partitions. One for e OS and one for recovery.

And it's annoying to use as such.

I tried to take recovery disks, but failed. And sentenced to HP recovery disks and they passed on to the

recovery disks, which is part of the way.

Installation of windows 8 is safe? can I return to Lacrosse, OS, recovery thorugh disks?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello:

Yes, Windows 8 will work on your laptop, and Yes, the recovery disks will restore your PC to its factory condition.
