Install Windows XP on netbook

Hello

I have a netbook Acer Aspire One with XP was preinstalled. After playing with the Linux operating system, I've lost my Windows partitions and data.

I have the license key, but no installation CD or a CD-rom.

What is the solution to reinstall XP on the netbook.

PS. We can assume that by buying a netbook with license, but without the software on a CD or any other media, there is a simple direct encounter to reinstall the software in case of crash. Otherwise it's just a single license...

Thank you for your advice

You must contact the Acer Support for the recovery media for your Netbook.  If this option is not available, you will need to purchase a Windows XP license or buy Windows 7 instead:

Can you tell me how to install Windows XP on my NetBook via USB as there is no CD to my Samsung N100 NetBook?

Go to the Samsung's Web Site, click on the "Support" link and find/download a manual for your computer.  Somewhere in the manual (sometimes in the appendix) the procedure of installing Windows XP on your model will be explained.  However, having said all that, my bet on the response from Richard Harper and you will probably have to you beg/borrow/steal/buy an external USB CD-ROM drive.

  • Installed Windows 7 on my netbook but keep getting the blue screen while surfing Web sites

    Hello!

First of all, this is my first post time on these forums, I often read them and think they are great!

Now on to my question, I recently installed Windows 7 on my LG x 110 netbook. I ran the windows Upgrade Advisor 7 and confirmed that my netbook managed to all the minimum requirements for a 32-bit install. After installing Windows 7 my pc works perfectly (better than XP in fact) has installed all of the drivers needed to run automatically unless the driver for my microphone and my 3gs integrated internet which I managed to resolve. The only problem I have is sometimes while surfing the web, I get the blue screen of death and my netbook restarts. I was not able to understand by myself am so regarding this forum hoping to repair... I contacted LG for information on downloading upgraded drivers, but got a response from them saying that my pc is not supported with drivers for windows 7. Here is some information from the Center problem with Windows 7, I don't know if it's necessary info, please tell me where to find the correct information and how to access it.

It seems that you have a C2 Bad Pool Caller error, which is difficult to analyze without the minidump file.  If you googled around and find WinDBG, you can open the minidump file.

Look for the line: nom_image: it will tell you exactly what file has caused the error.  If all goes well, once you find exactly what caused the error, you can search for updated drivers/software.  At first glance, I would say it was the Realtek drivers because you see the line RTL8187Se in your info.

My MSI Wind U100 netbook works also Win7 perfectly.  Double boots with MacOSX too, just because I wanted to see if I could do it.  I change the hard drive (for a bigger) and added the RAM.  Nothing low spec thereon compared to what was needed for WinXP when it came out!

Try this driver, it should do the trick.  http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PFID=40&level=5&Conn=4&ProdID=172&DownTypeID=3&GETDOWN=false&downloads=true

And since this is the NETWORK/connection wireless card driver, he explains why the errors come during surfing!

I'm trying to install Windows 7 64 bit ultimate in netbook Toshiba NB305-105, I have install all drivers, but I can't solve the problem with the WIFI. In particular I don't found drivers for the special key FN to switch on the WIRELESS card.
I tried different retraction, but nothing. All the drivers are installed but the FN key does not work and even for the WiFi card.

Please help me or I come to Windows 7 32 bit?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

You can keep Windows 7 64 bit installed, but I put t understand why you need 64-bit OS on a netbook that doesn't support 4 GB of RAM

In any case, the FN keys to install the package of added value and utility to Support Flash Cards. These two tools controls the FN keys. They are not listed for your netbook and Windows 7 64-bit, you can download them from another model as Satellite L500.

I'm pretty sure, they have too much work for your model. :)

  • I upgraded the ram and wish to have access to more than 3 GB, so I'll need to install Windows 7 64 bit

    Yes please

As the 32-bit drivers won't work not on Windows 7 64 bit is very important that you check that the 64-bit Windows 7 drivers are available for all your equipment (not only devices such as printers) before you upgrade. The Windows Upgrade Advisor is a useful starting point, but to be sure to look on the Web site of the manufacturer of your PC, or to defect, the manufacturer of the equipment.

  • Re-install XP on a Netbook after the installation of Ubuntu...

    Hello

I recently bought a netbook (Asus EEE PC) and installed Ubuntu (linux) - but I would like to go back to XP. I have a valid (from another computer) XP disc as well as the XP serial number given with my netbook. My netbook does not have a hard drive, however.

How can I go about it?

    Thanks :)

Your problem is that you have a SATA hard drive.  SATA drives did not exist when Windows XP was created and that therefore there is no SATA drivers on the install media.  The official Windows is to press "F6" key at the moment he flashes a message to load external drivers, but then you will find the driver * must be loaded from a floppy drive (which nobody can be more). ...

Having an SSD of 15 GB on a netbook and short on free space.  Can XP/XP Pro be run from the SD card in this machine?... Can install apps on the SSD drive?

    Unlikely.

How many of the 15 GB is your thing compared to installed applications?  Would you put YOUR stuff on the outside?

In the end however, 15 GB - pretty anemic.  You will need to invest in a larger capacity disk or a secondary disk where your applications installyour and put your data.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 20 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.  In most cases, especially with XP and applications most people use there, the numbers are closer to being less than 9 GB.  All the rest is stuff of the user.

If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.
