Installation of a 32-bit 64-bit compatible software

I have windows vista 64-bit. I want to install software that can run vista 32 bita and editions of XP. Is there a way I can install this software on my computer?
Thank you

You can run most, but not all, Vista 32-bit programs to 64-bit Vista.

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows-frequently-asked-questions

Most of the programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows works on 64-bit Windows version. The notable exceptions are many antivirus programs.

Device drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows do not work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you try to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows. If you don't know if there is a 64-bit driver available for your device, go online to the Vista Compatibility Center"" href = "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=142444" > Windows Vista Compatibility Center

.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And read this:
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx
Windows Vista Compatibility Center
First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/
If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all.
This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.
    Hi all
    I installed the trial version 30 days of VMware in order to assess the possibility of having Linux as guest in a 64-bit Vista PC OS.
    Everything works as it is supposed to be, but then I tried to install Win 7 64 bit to see that can offer the new version of Windows.
    Then I got an error message saying that my processor is not compatible with 64 - bit led me to discover that VMware has been installed in the Program files of 32-bit and not 64-bit.
    I would like to ask you the following:
    1. the file I downloaded is VMware-workstation - 6.5.1 - 126130.exe. It was my understanding it is 32 and 64 bit compatible. Am I wrong? And in order to install this I should do something different other that manually set the Program Files folder of 64 bit as the place of installation?
    2. the VMachine that I already created, I should delete and reinstall the OS or it will be functional is when I install VMware as 64-bit?
    1 workstation was installed in 32-bit file, as most of the software is written as a 32-bit process (user interface, most of the modules, etc.).  On a 64-bit OS host, the virtual machine monitor, device drivers and system services ARE 64-bit (otherwise they would not work).
    2. the ability to run 64-bit guests has NOTHING to do with what is your host operating system.  ONLY the characteristics of the material.  See the article knowledge base 1901 for more details on the host hardware configuration required to run 64-bit guests.
    3. any VMs you have created are simply files to your host (or another take you to)... similar to a Word document.
  • Installation of Vista 64 bit on the Satellite P500/025
    I just bought a P500/025 and should have chosen installation 64 bit but installed 32-bit instead.
    Could someone please give me instructions on how to install vista 64-bit on Vista 32 bit?
    I will lose everything I have installed on my current installation of 32-bit?
    Before starting the discussion on the installation of Vista 64-bit, visit the Toshiba download page and check if this laptop is 64 bit supported and if you can find all drivers 64-bit.
    I have Windows 7 Professional x 64.  I'm trying to uninstall a bad driver or other software for CanoScan 600F Flatbed scanner.  When I try to, I get this message: "this program is for Intel 32-bit compatible platforms only.  The program will be left. »
    It is therefore impossible for me to uninstall.
    I downloaded the 64-bit driver appropriate and installed, but that did not help: Windows does not recognize the existence of the device.  I guess that, until the messed up bad software is uninstalled, I can't install things right.  I managed to uninstall the good driver, but the wrong software is still there.  It appears in the list of programs in the Control Panel, but can not be uninstalled.
    So, how one uninstall when this message?
  • How to convert my 16-bit DC version to be compatiable to 64-bit windows software I'm running
    I just got a new computer from my employer.  There the DC Standard Acrobat downloaded thereon.  Whenever I open a PDF file, it gives me an error message that says that the Acrobat 16 Bit is not compatible with the 64-bit windows software. What I can, or how updated to version 64 bit.
    Hi patl17009221 ,
    Acrobat is a 32-bit application & is compatible with 64-bit Windows.
    Please let me know the version of Windows installed on your computer?
  • ... folder contains a compatible software driver... Make sure it is meant... x 64
    He could not find in the forums.  Also tried a google search.
    I get this error when you try to install a monitor driver:
    The specified folder contains a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure that it is designed to work with Windows for x 64 systems.
    System: Windows Vista 64-bit-enabled/on the driver signing
    Driver/device: Viewsonic VP2030 LCD monitor series
    Why I need this driver: I think that the graphics card is difficult because he does not know my monitors refresh rate limits.
    OK, I have downloaded the driver on the Viewsonic website (see here):
    http://www.ViewSonic.com/support/downloads/drivers/?PROD_NAME=vp2030
    I tried the second and the last of them.
    I also tried the driver from the catalog of Microsoft (see here):
    http://catalog.update.Microsoft.com/v7/site/search.aspx?q=display%20viewsonic%20vp2030
    So none of them will not be installed.  The installation method that I use is to go to "Add Hardware" and use the "floppy".
    I have also check this page that talks about the inf being decorated and the driver being 64-bit.
    Well, as you can see, it seems to be decorated properly:
    [Manufacturer]
    ViewSonic % = ViewSonic, NTia64,NTamd64
    [ViewSonic.NTamd64]
    % VP2030% = VP2030. Installation, Monitor\VSC131C
    So, what can I do now?
    I found a way to install... even if it's quite complicated (because all other methods would not work).
    1. in the Device Manager, right-click on current monitor and select update
    2 say that you have a disk
    3. choose the folder/inf for the monitor.
    4. Select and install.
    It's time to retire and recycle that old computer and buy a new one with Windows 7 preinstalled.  Here are a few examples.
  • Run XP on Windows 7 compatible software
    HI - new to the Board & hoping you can help.  I'm not technically savvy, but now, I know just enough to confuse me
    I recently bought a HP Pavilion p6523w & it's OS is Windows 7.  My XP (my Checkwriter) compatible software does not work on the new computer.  I get the following error message:
    The editor recommended that the access of the exe, go properties & on the Compatibility tab click on the version of Windows the software initially ran under.  I did it (including all available options of XP - that is. Service pack 2, etc.) and the software still does not work.
    What else can I try?  I had not thought about all my incompatible software on the new computer and can not afford a costly upgrade to solve problems (just try to install this software about me freaked out...).  Anyone have any ideas on how to work around to through this?
    Thank you very much!
    Hello:
    I think that you don't have two choices if the Windows 7 operating system that you are using is 7 Home Premium.
    1 get a newer compatible Windows 7 My Checkwriter (I did a search and this is the software you have)?
    http://support.Selectsoft.com/products/M/LYCHEHOBUJ.htm
    If so, it is not compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7. Or it looks like a newer version is available.
    2. run the Windows Anytime upgrade to Windows 7 Professional ($89.95) and then download the program Virtual PC XP Mode, so you can run your current software of my Checkwriter in XP mode.
    More information on the program in XP mode found on the link below:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/default.aspx
    I think it might be time for a program of checkwriting different. It would probably be less expensive and cumbersome option.  In my view, there are a few free checkwriting software available on the internet, that you can try.
    9 turn off startup programs:
    (A). Click Start, type MSCONFIG in the search box and press ENTER.
    OK the authorization of user account control and password if necessary
    If you are using XP: click Start, run, and type: MSCONFIG and click OK.
    (C) just below the selective startup, clear the checkbox "Load Startup items".
    (D) click the Services tab, check "Hide all Microsoft Services", and then click Disable all.
    (E) click OK, and then restart the computer.
    (F) try the upgrade again.
    (NOTE: If the upgrade fails and you continue to use your rear security software, then also go back into MSCONFIG and under the general Tower XP/Vista tab, click "Normal startup", and then click OK to exit.)
  • Professional installation of Windows7 64 bit OS
    I have 2 computers Compaq with Vista Home Basic or Premium installed as OEM
    I want now to upgrade to Windows7 Professional 64 bit OS and find that it requires a "clean" installation
    How can I run a clean install and maintain the unique system of partitioning and recovery Compaq?
    Hope I can get the answer to this niggling question
    Thank you
    Brian
    OK thanks for your comments... It is as I thought
    I already made the new facility both of my computers and find the Compaq recovery partition has been deleted leaving me with a D: partition without data
    In my view, is not an exercise of customer on part of HP to offer not a follow-up after the expiration of the warranty
    I know I tried to get a response from HP and because computers are out of the warranty period they dod do not want to know
    In my opinion, they should offer a consultation service at least
    I opted for the 32-bit version I would have been able to improve and maintain the partitionsand all my files etc, but I thought that I would install W7 64-bit version on Desktop or laptop... maybe as I should be satisfied with the 32-bit version
    At least I have a set of OEM recovery disks just in case I want to go back to the original
    Regarding computers, that they are working correctly then maybe I am too picky, asking for the partitioning of Compaq
