Installation of Acrobat Pro DC deletes Acrobat XI

I installed Acrobat Pro DC to see that Acrobat Pro XI has been deleted from my system. The only remaining trace is a question mark in my dock where the Acrobat icon used to be. If it's supposed to happen? If so, why? If it was a deliberate choice, it's a TERRIBLE one!

I have a lot of procedures for the processing of files with Acrobat XI. With DC I'm flying blind and cannot function effectively. Yes, I'll get used to it eventually, but Acrobat XI of my Applications folder move was quite unexpected. I keep different versions of many active programs to meet the requirements of the customer or use plug-ins occasional that I don't like to upgrade. Any other Adobe program was deleted when I installed a newer version.

I need to restore XI on my computer. Is there a conflict that will prevent the two versions of Acrobat to coexistence on my computer? Since it does not turn off, do I have a problem of activation of the new facility?

Hi jageez,

We're really sorry for the inconvenience posed for you.

Could you please let me know what version of the operating system that you use.

You can check the mentioned link which discusses about how Acrobat DC test facility removes previous versions below:

The trial removed previous version Acrobat | How to reinstall

If you want to return to Acrobat XI, then follow the instructions listed on this link of doc KB:

Acrobat DC uninstalled Acrobat XI | How to get Acrobat XI

Please note that Adobe does not support the installation of multiple versions of Acrobat on the same computer. Because Acrobat works with many products, several versions installed simultaneously can lead to errors and software conflicts.

If you want to use Acrobat on the new computer, and then disable it first from the old computer and then install and activate a new using the same Adobe ID (by subscription) or license (serial key).

Hope this information is helpful to you.

Kind regards

Ana Maria

  • Error 28000 (licensing module does not have) on the installation of Acrobat DC.

I receive the error 28000 (licensing module does not have) on the installation of Acrobat DC. The installation is on a new computer Windows 10 Pro. Installation was attempted at the start using Dell's digital delivery program, but have also tried installing after downloading directly from Adobe. I used the cleaning tool and tried to install it again with the same result. I tried installing using the administrator account with all services non - Microsoft Startup and antivirus disabled and received the same error message. I restored the system to a point before the initial setup attempt was made and tried to install it again and received the same error.

You must use the exact installation file that corresponds to your serial number.  of course, the versions must match.

a little less obviously an acrobat pro installation file must be used with a number of pro series, and if a serial number is a sequence that includes acrobat, you must use the installation files on.

  • Error 28000 Installation of Acrobat Licensing Module has failed...

I have a hard time with this stupid thing.

The error that says "for possible workarounds for her to this problem, please refer to http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_installation_rollback.

Workaround does not work and I wouldn't uninstall versions of work, existing software written for a demo of Adobe Acrobat DC. I can't recommend this purchase as an update to our existing software at this point. Which is pretty crappy, considering the version of Adobe Acrobat Pro, we did absolutely terrible work of converting PDF to other formats.

I was able to install by editing the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion, particularly this key: String: CommonFilesDir-> value: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files

  • installation of acrobat problems

I need to reinstall Acrobat Pro XI after a failing of the old mac migration.  I have a new iMac, is the latest OS, chrome is the last, 16 G ram 3T hard drive... a lot of memory and space.  I downloaded the software (tried both methods on the Web site and was able to download each way), but the installation fails near the end (written files, etc. but then defective).  Error message says simply: "Installation failed. Setup has encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.

    Appreciate any assistance.

Found a solution, but not one of them.  I restarted my computer and an error box came that I had to reinstall Adobe create clouds.  I clicked on the link, download CC and then restart the installation of Acrobat.  And it worked.  Who knows why... but yes!

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - failed to access Acrobat Capture Web installation. Acrobat may be busy or waiting for input

At Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 and used Internet Explorer 10 Version 10.0.9200.17414. In the upper RIGHT of IE, I had Adobe (plug-ins?) option to:

    Convert Web Page to PDF...

Add Web Page in existing PDF...

    Print the Web Page...

    etc.

I used the Web Page Add to... the daily option. I then installed, to fix a different problem, Adobe Acrobat Reader Version DC 2015.008.20082 (later from this post). Now, when I choose to add a Web Page in existing PDF... option, I get the error popup:

Unable to access the installation of Acrobat Capture Web. Acrobat may be busy or waiting for input.

I have searched the WWW of solutions but can't find one. Anyone has any potential ideas?

The free software Adobe Reader doesn't have these features. They are part of Acrobat (not free) - as far as I know; only with the Pro version.

There may be a PDF 'create' a web page associated with an Adobe online subscription services (perhaps PDF Pack).

    Be well...
