Installation of an older program (Mathcad 6) on windows 7

I am trying to install an older version of Mathcad (version 6) on windows 7 Home premium.  The program was very well under XP (SP3).

The compatibility tools fail.  The program will not install and I get an error message on the incompatibility of a 32-bit program running in a 64-bit environment.

Any thoughts?  Upgrade to Win 7 pro and installing 'XP mode' will do the trick?

Thanks for any help

Success!

Although I couldn't get Mathcad 6 to install in the usual way, I had to run using an old method (that didn't work).

Basically, I installed it on a machine running XP (I used XPsp3), then copied the entire repertoire of Mathcad 6 (default is WINMCAD) on the Windows XP machine.  After a bit of spot test last night, I can tell you that it can create, modify, open, save, and print files, which is all I really need.  Interestingly, the program also runs the USB that I used to do the transfer.

Sometimes, take you a break.
