Installation of Boot Camp won't move from format

I have a Mac end of 2015 27 ". Have tried to install Boot Camp several times now - failed. Problem is when I get to the stage of "format" of the partition on windows install. I select the Boot Camp partition and format- then if I try to go then he said 'we could not create a new partition or locate an existing one. Talked to Apple tech support and so far no resolution. Tried everything again to install OSX, loading Boot Camp and going through the same routine again.

To a lost - can anyone?

Apple technical support cannot find their own article.

Please see Boot Camp: "we could not create a new partition or locate one" alert during the installation of Windows 8 - Apple Support . This is valid on all machines in 2015 or later version for W8 + / W10.

Do not connect any external storage to the iMac. Disconnect all of the hubs. Perform the following two procedures

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

How to reset the NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

If please delete the Bootcamp partition, if one has already been created and then try again to install Windows via the wizard of BC.

Hi, I am trying to install Windows 8.1 on my Macbook Pro (retina, 13-inch, early 2015, El Capitan). I have the ISO 64-bit file and load the application of assistant boot camp to make the installation process. She was able to partition my hard drive, and after that, he tries to restart in windows. • Two partitions of Windows after the installation of Boot camp?

I have a new Macbook Pro from 2015, with OS X 10.11.3 El Capitan.

I put the iso file of Windows 10 in the download folder and installed using Boot Camp assistant. After formatting the Bootcamp partition in the Windows installation guide and complete the installation, everything seems fine.

    But.

When starting with the alt key to choose between Mac and Windows, I have now two icons Windows as well as Mac icon. A my Windows installed 10 boots, and the other icon starts the installation guide for Windows. Why is this last icon of Windows and the option to start the installation of Windows always there?

    Hi there Jer2015,

Looks like you see an additional drive when you hold down option and start your computer, which will begin installing Windows again when selected. That sounds to me like you have the USB plugged with ISO on installation files. All you need to do is unplug it from the computer and it should no longer be an option.

  • Problem with installation of Boot Camp in windows 10

Windows 10 installed perfectly on my Macbook, 13 "mid 2013.  Although, when I'm on windows and try to install the Boot Camp Installer, it reached about 50% and stops.  The status shows "Realtek Audio".  I already re-formatted flash drive, entered the boot camp assistant and installed the windows media files.

Side Windows works fine, but there is no audio data and I can't use my keyboard features it's the keyboard backlight, brightness and volume.

Figured it out.  For someone else with the same question, go in the BootCamp folder, then in the drivers folder and delete the Realtek folder.  Everything works fine now

  • Can I do a repair disk for my 10 boot camp windows installation?

I installed boot camp using the boot camp assistant and not from my own installation disc.  It is provided in the boot camp assistant.  Sometimes I can't start windows and getting a bad_pool_header error.  I am asked to insert an ERD.  How can I make or get a repair disc?  When I open windows and try to make one, I am informed that I can not with this version of windows 10.

There is no repair under OS X disk to repair Windows. You must use your Windows installation for this disc. Or find a Windows program for such a purpose.

  • iMac 2015 Unable to Boot Camp and Windows Installer

I've been back and forth with a Service guy to customers by phone, but thought I'd throw so the question in the case to see if there were others who have experienced similar problems and might be able to help.

I have an iMac, retina 5K, 27 - in, end of 2014. It allows to launch the Boot Camp with Windows 8.1, which I put in place about 1 year ago. It worked very well. But then, I decided to try to upgrade to Windows 10 about 3 weeks, which is not well. Decided to erase the partition via the wizard Boot Camp and re - install from scratch.

Now, I can not install Windows at all. I've tried everything. Using another ISO downloaded from the Windows website. Check disks using first aid. Last night I even totally erased the readers (via the terminal in recovery mode, with the help of the man of CS) and made a "Reinstall internet" of the operating system and then tried in boot camp. Without success.

I tried to call Microsoft too, but their position on the whole thing is "this is on a Mac, this is the problem to Apple. Bye. »

Appearances, Assistant Boot Camp is successfully created a partition. The system resets the Windows installation each time and I spend the flow rate of the installation until I get to the section "where you want to install Windows? I select my Bootcamp partition, format and then click Next. That's when I get the error message "we could not create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup logs files. »

If I quit the installer and restart on the side OSX, I see that the new partitions is to Windows NTFS, so it seems ok. I am completely puzzled and frustrated as * at this stage.

    Any thoughts? Ideas? Help? Please?

  • Win 7 Boot camp on Mountain Lion. Upgrade to Mac OS Sierra destroy boot camp?

    HI people,

been my mid 2010 MacBook Pro OSX lion mountain for a long time. I have a boot camp partition installed with windows 7.

I need to work from home.

I recently got an iPhone 7 and it requires iTunes 12.5, which is not supported by mountain lion so I can't restore the backup of phone of my iPhone 5 to the new phone.

MY internet connection is shocking to iCloud backups will take forever to download then.

So if I decide to move on Cougar to macos Sierra so I can install the correct iTunes to my new iPhone version and thus keep all my old applications and data, will it trash my installation of boot camp windows 7?

    Thanks guys,.

  • Cannot start to OSX after using boot camp

    Hey everybody

I have a Macbook pro 13' (2015) with display of keratina, 2.7 i5, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB Flash storage.

The problem started when I decided to run the boot camp on the device, everything went well until the installation of boot camp on windows 10. The installer got stuck in the process, so I left it. Then I went to the OSXRESERVED partition and I found the boot camp folder but when I tried to open it to re-run the installation program, I got an error message saying that the file cannot be opened and its corrupt. Then I formatted this partition using windows (how stupid on my part). And now I can not start back to OSX.

I tried to go to the recovery of the Internet then disk utility. I see that the partition I made for windows that is only 40 GB. And there's "virtual whole disk", which is written in red. When I click on check, he said that the drive should be repaired, when I clicked on the repair. The same warning showed once again that the disc must be repaired.

Also I tried to restore using time machine backup, but as I mentioned it won't give me access to the other partition is the 80 GB one. Instead, it shows only the 40 GB one and its not enough storage to restore the backup with.

Sorry I took so long and I appreciate everyone's help, thank you.

    Hi Tayar98,

Please visit Apple support communities. Congratulations on your new MacBook Pro!

It seems that you cannot boot to OS X or restore from a backup Time Machine after that a partition has been formatted using Windows install.

You should maybe erase and repartition your hard drive MacBook Pro before restoring from Time Machine backup. You can use the procedure described in disk utility (El Capitan): partitioning a physical disk:

    Erase and repartition a device

You can delete all volumes on a device and create new ones. For example, if you want to change the plan of partition of a USB key, lightning or other storage of Master Boot Record Partition GUID carte device. If you just want to delete a volume, see to delete a volume.

WARNING: Deleting and partitioning device destroys all data on all volumes of the device.

    1. Select the device in the sidebar you want to erase and re-partition, then click the Erase button .

Note: You cannot erase the device that contains your boot volume.

    2. Enter a name for the original volume.

    3. Click the context menu of the card, and then choose a format for the initial score.

For MS-DOS, and ExFAT partitions, the name must be 11 characters or less.

      • Map of Partition GUID: Used for all Mac computers with Intel processor.

      • Master Boot Record: Used for partitions Windows will be formatted under MS-DOS (FAT) or ExFAT.

      • Apple Partition map: Used for compatibility with Mac computers with PowerPC processor.

    4. Click clear, and then click done.

    Best regards.

  • Boot Camp will not install on Windows 10 (end of 2015 imac)

Bought an imac 27 "5K retina, end of 2015

1 TB - (not the Fusion drive)

    OS X El Capitan

All applications are updated on both OSX

Version of Windows 10 Education loaded 64 bit ISO file (3 times 2 of 1 Flash of office)

After loading Windows 10 - installation of Boot Camp program starts - but after a few minutes, I get a little window with a red X

The installation stops (I tried the OK TWO hit and hit X to close small, then the windows in the "Installation")

But no Boot Camp file is installed (worked with Apple Care - but they don't have any other suggestions.)

How can I get the Boot Camp assistant on the Windows partition? I can't find Boot Camp 6 downloads anywhere.

I don't have files from Boot Camp on side Windows to run (or disk Flash Drive)

Windows runs and work THOUGH - I have questions - no sound, the mouse does not scroll, have not spent a lot of time to discover other issues.

Another thing to NOTE - on the side of OS x with Boot Camp Assistant - I don't get always the choice to select tasks - that is not available - my boot camp assistant didn't need to start from a flashdrive (external drive) it will be the start of a download of office. I thought to use Boot Camp Assistant to load the ISO on the flash drive - but I do not get this option (select tasks).

Any help is appreciated - is there an external way to download Boot Camp 6?
