Win 7 Boot camp on Mountain Lion. Upgrade to Mac OS Sierra destroy boot camp?

HI people,

been my mid 2010 MacBook Pro OSX lion mountain for a long time. I have a boot camp partition installed with windows 7.

I need to work from home.

I recently got an iPhone 7 and it requires iTunes 12.5, which is not supported by mountain lion so I can't restore the backup of phone of my iPhone 5 to the new phone.

MY internet connection is shocking to iCloud backups will take forever to download then.

So if I decide to move on Cougar to macos Sierra so I can install the correct iTunes to my new iPhone version and thus keep all my old applications and data, will it trash my installation of boot camp windows 7?

Thanks guys,.

Steven.

  • Configuration error 1 after upgrading to Mac OS Sierra (Illustrator)

    Hello world

After that I have upgraded to Mac OS Sierra, some of my Adobe software started crashing. Adobe Acrobat XI opens but unexpectedly stops after a few seconds. But above all, Illustrator does not start. I get the Configuration error message (error 1) and suggested to uninstall and reinstall the software (which doesn't help).

I tried to change the permissions for the files SLStore and Adobe PCD. And indeed, the permissions for Adobe PCD have been set to read only for the admin.

Unfortunately, change the permissions did not help. I get the same error message. Also, once I have reinstall the software, change the permissions to read-only.

It happened just after upgrading to Mac OS Sierra. I have no backup, so downgraded to El Capitan is not an option.

Please help, the standard solution has not worked for me and I need Illustrator to survive.

  • VMWare Fusion 5 Mountain Lion upgrade question

I recently updated my MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion, and my current version of Fusion is 3.1.3 I know does not work under Mountain Lion.

Our IT Department have downloaded Fusion 5 today, and I've been subject to intall it is when I read the instructions noted that I should have closed VM and not suspended.

My problem is that when I use my VM, I suspended it when not in use to speed things up. However, I know more that if I stopped it the last time I used it.

Is there anyway to check if it stops and if not is there anyway that I can close it down without perform the merge.

What will happen if I was going to come and upgraded to Fusion 5?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Woody can have a better answer, but here's my brute force suggestion:

    (1) copy (not a time machine) virtual machine offshore on an external drive as a backup.

    2) switch to Fusion 5

    (3) to start the virtual machine and see what happens

It's not being sarcastic... it might very well work.

  • Of the 10 items don't not after installation of Mountain Lion upgrades

Recently updated my MacbookPro.  I saw the previous response to margiemzzz on 4 September, but I can't find (don't know where to look) for (username > library > Preferences) or items to remove.   Help, please.

Title of the message was edited by: Brett N

Sure. Make sure that you are connected to your original account, then go to where you were (system prefs > users and groups.) If the padlock at the bottom of the screen is closed, click to unlock and give your OS X password. In the list on the left side, click on the name of the account to be deleted, and then click the button "-" the list below.

You will be asked how you want to remove: remove immediately makes disappear the account completely, or you can choose to have files that you created in the new account transferred to your own account. Don't forget to lock things upwards by clicking again the lock when finished.

Let me know if you need more information.

  • Impossible to analyze in CS3 directly with Mountain Lion 10.8 Mac

Recently changed from 10.4 Tiger directly to 10.8 M.Lion.  No probs to sweep in the past.  Receive the following error message:

Could not complete the import command due to a problem with the acquisition module while scanning in CS3.

Does this mean that my printer/driver/s are more compatible with 10.8?  I can scan in other areas/programs but not this one or in Office 2011, it seems.  It's like having a horn, but being not not able to use it.

HP can help and advise me on please?

    Hello

The drivers of your printer for ML provided by Apple via Apple Software Update.

Bundled software includes only scan ICA-compatible interface (as well as almost any solution of HP software) provided for Lion or higher.

As CS3 not supported Twain compatible devices, so you can't scan directly through the Adobe software...

You can scan using any compatible software ICA as Image Capture, Preview, Print & Scan, etc.

Then run the file scanned using CS3.

    Kind regards

I know how it is important to be sure that it works on your computer at any time. What you might want to try next some specific reboots. • iMac freezes after upgrade to Mac OS Sierra

I have a 27 iMac late 2009 ". After the transition to macOS Sierra, I got freeze about once or twice a day. The only way to get the system operational is again via a cold start. In this case, the pointer of the mouse still works, but otherwise, the system is not responding. I have never had this problem in 7 years using the same material, so a bit of a loss.

How much RAM you have installed? You can check in the  menu > about this Mac. Slopes of the Sierra, but barely, with 4 GB, but it really needs min. 8 GB runs correctly.

You can also try Safe Boot mode.

    -------

Restart in Safe Boot mode by holding down the SHIFT key at startup. Secure boot is quite slow because the operating system performs some cleanup and verification tasks, so give it time. Once you're completely connected, restart normally.

  • Can't stop MacBook Pro after upgrade to Mac OS Sierra

Yesterday I had upgraded my MacBook Pro since OS X El Capitan with macOS Sierra. Unfortunately I can't stop him, I can't even restart. Whenever I have start/stop I get a black screen (no slider) and it remains frozen. I have to hold the power button for a few seconds so that he will stop. I want to avoid cleaning the installation and configuring everything. Does anyone have an idea what causes this problem? I cleaned the cache and reset the NVRAM without effect.

    ... I cleaned the caches

I recommend that you do not have this, especially with a 'clean' non-Apple utility. All these things can do is cause problems. A SMC reset will remove some files from the system cache: reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac. That's all that anyone should ever do.

Back up your Mac if you have not already done so. Read https://www.apple.com/support/backup/to learn how to do this please. To learn how to use Time Machine read to use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.

Then, shut down your Mac and restart in 'Safe Mode '. To learn how to do it please read: try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up. Compare works your Mac in Mode for how safe it was.

Then restart normally. If the same problem comes back, please read the section If a problem does not occur in safe mode for actions recommended to Apple.

Finally, you can temporarily create a new user account and log into this account to determine if the problem also exists when connected to this account. To learn how to read How to test a question to another user on your Mac account. When you are finished troubleshooting, you can remove the temporary user account by following these instructions: macOS Sierra: remove a user or a group. Before you delete, confirm that you have not need of all the files that you have possibly set in this account.

  • After upgrading to Mac OS Sierra Verson 10.12 Dreamweaver Live View is extremely slow

It's the iMac and MacBook Pro. The two machines are powerful and new.

After the upgrade to the new MacOS Sierra seems incredibly slow on everything that Dreamweaver. Create a new page.

The last time I had problems with Dreamweaver was energy, it has been fixed in an upgrade later. This time the problem is something else.

Mode Live View shows not alive, must constantly keep Refresh and it's incredibly slow when it works.

After a short then nothing works and you must restart Dreamweaver. It is a problem between the application and the system. Will it be fixed in the near future by Adobe or should I go the road big return to the old system.

Others who have the same experience?

Thanks for the reply. Now, I reformat my hard disk, install everything I need again. I use obtained and earlier Adobe help. At that time, he was well back, but it was solved later. I used Time Machine that had a problem.

I prepare everything I need to take care of, so we'll see what happens. This time I use Time machine. Do problems after installation of Adobe once again, I'll contact the Support from Adobe.

    Thanks for all replies.

  • Google Earth opens after upgrading to Mac OS Sierra

Since the download and installation of maOS Sierra I find Google Earth does not work?

    see the following topics

    https://productforums.Google.com/Forum/#! rBa2c_LjgMI/cards/subject

If the software is still not compatible, you must communicate with development of google and see if they plan to release a new version. Or if you have a Time Machine backup, you can restore your system to a point where the operating system and this app worked together. Past that Apple has no googles software and does not patch their OS to accommodate other developers especially when OS X 10.12 was available to google for months to make these changes.
