Installation of IOM on RHEL 6 or OEL6 possible?

Is it possible to install Oracle Identity Management on RHEL 6 or 6 OEL?
What are the current certified operating systems at present for the Installation of the IOM (link to the oracle documentation would be nice)?

    Hello

I have installed oracle database 11 g 2, run the RCU, installed weblogic 10.3.6 utility. Everything went well

during the installation of IOM, I get error below. Disc 1-> right click-> run as administrator setup.exe

After that I tried to run via the command prompt. It's to show the screen of the installer, after entering the JDK or Jre location also it does not. Am I missing something here?

    Please suggest

    Thanks in advance

    Try this as mentioned above:

Install a JDK in a path without spaces such asc:/jdk1.7.0_xx and use it. In your case "Program files" has spaces.

  • Integrate SSO after installation of IOM (11 GR 2)

    Hi all

I have a few questions about how to go about installing OES on an existing installation of the IOM.

Installation of the IOM is currently 11 GR 2 PS1.

    I realized the following steps:

    1. Stop all of the Weblogic managed server and administrator of the domain Weblogic IOM residing on server.
    2. Running config.sh to extend the area with 'Oracle Server right for Admin Server'.
    3. Domain successfully expanded.
    4. Starts the administration server and the server managed by IOM.
    5. Target navigation < adminserver >: < adminport > / apm
    6. Successfully connected to APM.
    7. Under the left hand to navigate the tree, IOM arises, and OIMDomin is there (I can search with success of authorization policies).

Now, I have the following questions:

    1. I ran out of any stage?  for example I need to run the RCU for OES before expanding the field?  Is the OES (SM) customer needed (OES and IOM are on the same server)?

    2. How can I test OES to see if it works correctly with IOM?  What are the steps post facility audit / best practices?

    3. do I need to run any OPatch after the extension of the weblogic domain?

Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

My understanding, OES engine gets deployed independently of you by selecting the option while creating the field of IOM. The steps you did was just for the OES (apm) web application deployed on the admin. So I don't think you need to do something else.

To validate if IOM knows of OES, what you can do is create a permission policy DENY for end user (check authenticate role) main on a basic resource target (say orclOIMUI: *) and test it.

Any resolution on this? In case the post installation steps are common - why they are not part of the standard installation so that it will not get missed.

    Hello
If you have loged in IOM with the same database, I mean if it is the second facility on the same repository after loged in IOM, there is no chance to recover from this problem, because the password is encrypted in .xldatabasekey.

The only thing you can try this xldatabasekey to restore your former location of the installation of the new location, but there is no guarantee.

You need to reinstall the repository.

    Good luck.

  • Installation of IOM for learning purpose

Establishing a reference IOM in my laptop to do some POC. The OS is Oracle-Ent-Linux 5.5 with only 5 GB of ram in a box (vmware) virtual. The host machine is a Macbook Pro with 8 GB of ram. I installed Oracle DB 11.2 and IOM 11.1.1.5. When I start the DB and the three servers (admin, IOM, soa) weblogic, the response is very slow, as it is to consume all memory.

How can I make this light weight of the installation? Is there a way I can put IOM and SOA on a managed server? I'm worried because I'm also planning to configure OID later.

    Thank you!
    Kabi

I run Linux in text mode, as a virtual machine. The setting of the virtual machine are normal, but you can reduce the setting of the video ram to its smallest value. As root, type ' init 3' to run in text mode. When you want to go back to the GUI, restart or type 'init 5'. You can set the default runlevel to 3 and the server will start in text mode.

My instance of database takes about 800 MB, which is essential to get everything to fit in RAM. To start the Manager of enterprise db, enter "emctl start dbconsole" without the quotes. When it starts, it will show you the URL to access the EM-> https://myserver:1158 / console/em/aboutApplication.

Connect to the console and the Server tab, you can adjust the parameters of memory. You may wish to consult a DBA on what to fix, I'm not an expert in the database, I just read on TV. ;>)

When you're done, don't forget to stop the process of Employment of the DB, it takes RAM, too. Type: 'emctl stop dbconsole' without the quotes.

    Hi Simon,.

The license service uses the API of InetAddress.getLocalHost () and so your file/etc/hosts should include an entry for the two localhost as well as for your host name.

    Should resemble your file/etc/hosts

    # This is an example of the hosts file

    127.0.0.1 localhost

    : 1 localhost

    127.0.0.1 LMCFXD01

Once you have the hosts file fixed, you should be all set.

    Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts _ (file)

    Kind regards

  • Finish the installation of Windows after the restoration is not possible

Hi, I have a problem with my laptop.

All of a sudden the keyboard reacted as the SHIFT key is down. When I insert a cd I don't have the name of the file under the icon and firefox lost my favorite pages. I ran antivirus scans, but nothing came. so I decided to do a system recovery. Now on the first page, I have to do next to complete the installation of windows, I click on the next button and it is clicked. I'm on the first page and my laptop is out of use. can you help me please?

    thanx

    Theo

    Hello

Well, Stefan has suggested that the recovery CD is corrupt, but for me it s does not erase if you used a recovery CD or the Microsoft Windows CD.
    What did you use?

I think that the recovery CD should be corrupted and it works without any problem.
You format the HARD drive correctly? Otherwise, do it first and delete all partitions and try reinstalling the operating system.

  • Download updates windows on one machine... and their installation on others... .is it possible!

    No........

  • Installation of VMware not mentioned option, is it possible?

    Hello

We have a new data center and all new VMware hosts ready to be deployed. 1 GB of connection between the old and new data center. Old VMware farm is 3.5, and new vSphere 4. I read the upgrade guide and have not seen the following scenario and want to know if this is possible.

    (1) install ESX 4 on all hosts in the new data center

    (2) install vCenter Server 4 on one of the NEW hosts.

    (3) stop the virtual Center 2.5 server in the Gallop of old data.

    4) join the VMware 3.5 servers existing comments of the vCenter Server 4 (add storage and hosts for the new data center inventory.)

    (5) migrate through vMotion migration or cold to the new data center servers and data storage locations.

This scenario could work? Scenarios in the literature mainly discuss the upgrade on the same hardware, but we are moving to new hardware.

    Thank you

    Gary

    Gary,

You can use all the features of vCenter4 and hosts the ESX4 in eval mode, it's true.

However, the 'old' ESX 3.5 hosts must see their license server. They I guess - certainly not in eval mode (60 days) more

If the license server is not available and you try a vMotion VM from ESX3.5 to ESX4, you will receive a message like "not licensed for vMotion.

Why I know? The first update, I did it (same steps as yours) I actually stumbled upon this question.

  • OIM 11 g R2 PS2: high-level step 2 Server Installation

    Hello world

I have successfully installed one server of IOM Ps2 11 GR 2 on Windows Server 2008 in this way:

    • Installation of database
    • Creating schema by remote control
    • Installation of Weblogic
    • SOA Suite installation
    • Required for SOA Suite patches
    • Installation of the IOM Office
    • Creation of the Weblogic domain
    • Using upgrade schema OPSS Patch Set Wizard
    • Set up the database of store for the IOM domain security
    • Start Server
    • Configuration of the servers in the IOM, Console Design

Now, I need to know step high level server PS2 for Installation 2 IOM 11 GR 2 on 2 servers with the same database and schema.

    Can you help me?

    Concerning

    Hello

    1. Installation of weblogic, SOA and IOM binary in the second host. Judgment of the IOM and SOA servers in the first host.
    2. Because you are finished with the installation of IOM and configuration of domain on a host computer, you open a session on the weblogic console and server create two managed servers for SOA and the other for IOM with listening address and port of the host of the second.
    3. Clusters create two groups, one for SOA and another for IOM. Add the of IOM to the cluster of IOM and SOA servers to the cluster SOA.
    4. Create two machines with two hosts and Manager node listening ports host addresses.
    5. Add weblogic admin server, IOM and the first host to the first server machine and IOM soa and soa server on the second second host machine. (The second machine will have weblogic admin server)
    6. Run the pack.sh utility to pack the field of the first host, this will create a pot out of your domain in the first machine.
    7. In the second machine, run unpack.sh which will unzip the jar in the second machine.

In addition, you can follow this link for fee introduction of IOM in mode high availability.

Configure high availability for Oracle Identity Manager - 11g Release 2 (11.1.2.2) components
