Installation of Pavilion TouchSmart 23-f250 memory

Hi, I'm looking for instructions on installing memory for my Pavilion TouchSmart 23 - f250. I have already looked up the plug and have ordered DDR3 PC3-12800 4 GB of Crucial. This is the same type and speed of what is already installed.

I have windows 8.1

System is 64-bit

I don't know the physical location of the memory. All I can find online are for different models of the all-in-one, and I want to make sure I do it correctly. It's not new to me, this setting.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Memory, upgrade Pavilion touchsmart 23 F250

Just installed a 4 GB memory chip.

    System shows 8 GB installed.

BIOS shows both A and B containing 4 gig each

When in control under systems Panel, it shows 8gig but in parens it shows available 3.6.

I reinstalled the card. It is installed without any problem.

There are no jumpers to change are there?

could not find any notes on that. HP diagram for removal of the cover back and the steps to install memory have been

    Very well.

    Larry

I just disable the chat with Rosie of support.  She told me that when you have no dedicated graphics card, the memory card I added is in store for the fitting. the only way I can get 8 gig is to remove the 4 GB in slot B and replace it with 8gig. also, I asked what is slot A for. Rosie says memory. So I asked if the memory that I just bought and put into the A slot has no value and she said yes!

    Any help.

Hi shiponomore1939. It seems that the computer came with Windows 8 x 64. The specifications indicate that it supports up to 16 GB on a 64 bit system. If you have 64-bit Windows (which I think you do). This document allows to check this in the section "type of system to find 32-bit or 64-bit in Windows 8".

Is the Version of Windows on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02033168

If you have 32-bit Windows, so this is why you cannot use all the 8 GB, as 32-bit only supports 4 GB.

If it is 64-bit, the first thing I would allows you to check, if the 'maximum memory' is not selected.

To find this option, you must open msconfig. Here are the instructions on opening msconfig. Just use "Opening msconfig to solve software problems" section for instructions.

With the help of the Microsoft System Configuration (Windows 8):

    http://h10010.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us & LC = on & DLC = in & docname = c03314799 #N80

Opening msconfig, click on the tab "Boot".

In the Startup tab, click the 'Advanced Options'.

Make sure that the "Memory Maximum" box is empty.

Apply these settings and restart to see if additional memory is detected.

If this has not resolved the problem, make sure your memory is firmly in place. I read a few threads with the same problem you are experiencing is resolved by this step. Even when the computer has recognized that the ram has been installed, Windows could not use it until the RAM has been reinstalled.

Let me know how it goes.

The power supply unit (PSU) is external and only 180W.  In addition, there is no slot PCIe.  Therefore, you cannot upgrade the video card.

  • HP Pavilion Touchsmart kept Sound disappears after installation and reinstalling the drivers

I have a HP Pavilion Touchsmart 14-B132TX Sleekbook. My sound disappeared while I was using it a month ago. I called the HP Hotline and Technical Support told me just uninstall it from the Device Manager and when restarted, automatically installs the driver. What I did.

The sound came back but still once he disappeared after about 15 minutes of use, so I called tech support again and they gave me links to HP support for drivers to download and install which I did and rebooted the computer and the sound came back again. BUT again, the noise has disappeared. I called tech support and they just do a system restore which I did and the sound came back again. But he disappeared again after all just 7 minutes of use.

These are the drivers, I installed from the HP Web site: sp60642, sp64082, sp60464 and sp64031. After reinstalling the drivers. I cleaned my laptop with CCleaner and went to HP Support Assistant in the hope of getting a solution, there was a statement here to download the QUALCOMM Atheros driver and I installed again the driver said... The sound has come back after rebooting. AND again, he has disappeared after just using the laptop for about 3 minutes. (it gets worse!.) This laptop is quite new, he just bought 10 months ago. What is going on? Please help me. I use the Windows 8 operating system. PLEASE HELP ME.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

After that you may or may not need to remove and reload the sound driver - if you do, how to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

    Recovery Manager - Windows 8.

  • Pavilion TouchSmart b159sx 15: 16 GB ram upgrade

    Hello

I have HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-b159sx Sleekbook and I want to upgrade the RAM 16 GB.

    My hardware specification:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-15-Sleekbook/5330569/model/5378819/document/c0373048...

    1. is it possible with regard to the specification of the material?

2 change the 16 GB ram will make a noticeable difference?

    Best regards

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

    P. 4: supports up to 8 GB of RAM in the following configurations: ● 8192 MB total memory (4096 MB × 2) (no support for 32-bit operating systems)

So the answer to both your questions is 'no '. However, if you still have the original 6 GB, you will see significant improvement, upgraded to 8 because you will not only get a discount of 25% of the memory, but you will run in mode dual channel which is maybe 10% faster. It's the REF HP for the 4 GB module:

    4 GB 641369-005

Memory got inexpensive, so it is logical to buy just 2 new modules for you ensure that they are identical and will be run in dual channel:

Unfortunately access to housing for th ememory module requires the removal of the motherboard. See p. 69 of the manual. Post back if you need help most.

  • HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n018so

    I have a few questions...

My HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n018so supports an SSD?

If I replace the drive to an SSd, it would affect my warranty?

And finally and most importantly, a Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500 GB BK OEM stand in my computer?

    Hi @VonL ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

It's a great place to find answers.
You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the HP Forums Learn how Post and more

I understand - you want to install an SSD and would like to know if it will void your warranty.

Here is a link to the HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC HP Pavilion TouchSmart Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide 15.

Page 39 has a list of recommended replacement hard drives.  There's not an SSD in the list.

I'm not sure how the installation of a public record would affect the warranty.   I think that the guarantee would be OK, but for the assistance you may need to reinstall a burner supported.  To be sure, I'd give a helpline a call to determine if this is correct or how it really affects the guarantee.

  • Pavilion TouchSmart PC 20-f323, how to boot from a DVD?

My client has a 20-f323 HP Pavilion TouchSmart PC with Windows 8 on it and wants to downgrade and install Windows 7 Pro instead.

However, my first question is, how to start my Windows 7 Pro DVD on the TouchSmart PC?  I can not even find a boot menu option to start from the DVD drive.

All other URL on this upgrade process below would be appreciated!

I thank very you much for your time.

    WARNING *.

HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8, and it will support the installation of Windows 7. HP doesn't provide drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer. In addition, Windows 7 can not take in charge some of the hardware or software designed for the computer.

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

You can buy a new copy of Windows 7 with a valid COA and the product key.

The screenshots below is from a notebook HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install from a USB key and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '. This should clear up the CD/DVD device is missing.

In addition, as the hard drive is probably partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own disc of Windows 7 SP1. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

    From the top...

    (1) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (2) when the MENU is displayed, press "F10".

    3) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", 'USB 3.0 pré-OS Config' and the value 'Auto '.

    4) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", "Startup Options" and "Secure Boot" the value 'Legacy Support' the value "Enabled" and "Disabled"

    5) press "F10" and click "YES" to "Exit Saving Changes".

    (6) computer should restart and display "Change of operating system startup Mode"... type the four digit code, then press "ENTER".

    (7) let Windows 8 boot to the top and put the Windows 7 SP1media in the drive to DVD or a USB port, then logout / stop.

    (8) to turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (9) when the MENU is displayed, press the key "F9" and then select the correct boot UEFI source (CD/DVD drive internal, USB drive, CD/DVD, USB Flash drive, etc.). ... Press any key to start the CD/DVD, if prompted.

    (10) select "Language", "time / currency ' and 'Keyboard' settings and then click"Next ".

    11) click on 'install now '... Check "Accept terms" and click "next". Click on "Custom (Advanced)".

    (12) you may need to provide AMD SATA/RAID drivers at the moment... Download AMD Chipset Drivers (Chipset / AHCI / USB 3.0)

    (13) ' where do you want to install Windows 7? Select "Disk / Partition" with "Unallocated space", you created earlier, and then click "next".

    (14) follow all instructions and meet the need. Enter the Windows 7 key when asked.

Please post the "Hardware ID" Device Manager (text only) for all remaining missing or unknown devices, as shown in the example below.

    Hi RSM288,

    Welcome to the HP forums!

To install your Officejet 6310 on your new Touchsmart PC, I highly recommend that you download and run the HP printer installation wizard. This tool will find and download the software for you on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1. You can leave the USB cable plugged all the time and that makes things easier as well
