• installation problems - PSE 8 on windows 7

  I try to install PSE 8 on a toshiba satellite. Vista has been installed originally, but the laptop has been upgraded to windows 7.

  installation seems to go smoothly through the file copy process, with the bar to achieve nearly 100% - so, a 'dismantling' starting state.  No warning, no error message.  Once the restoration is complete, I get a message that the installation has been interrupted, and I have to restart it later.

  I tried the installation in xp sp2 mode and running as an administrator.  exact same results.

  Delete the cache.db that can be found in the location below and then try again to install:

  %ProgramFiles%\CommonFiles\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache.db

  NOTE: Do this step may require you to re-enter the serial number for Adobe products already enabled on your machine.

  Can someone tell me how to get PSE 8.0 to appear in the list of programs available (using Vista) when right-clicking on a photo? All versions of my previous PES (6.0, 7.0) appeared in the list. While Photoshop first elements is there, because I installed PSE 8.0 and uninstalled 7.0 PSE, I can't do a right-click on a photo and open it in PSE 8.0. I tried to reset the default programs and add to the list, but it simply does not appear. I don't know if something about installing glitched, although the program works fine - except that I can't open a picture in it without going into the program and then will OPEN, which is tedious. I've never had this problem before and much is different in PSE 8.0, so I don't know if its me, my computer, or something in the program?

  Any ideas? I've tried everything I can think of, including trying ot make the default program, but it won't do it either.

  Surprisingly, I don't see this problem and could easily associate Jpeg with Photoshop Elements 8.0 Publisher. There are few solutions available on the net and you can try to see if they work for you.   You may be in the view of eLive currently. Click the media tab in the organizer of items and that should fix the problem.

  First I want to apologize for my bad English. But I guess that you understand what I want to explain.

  I had a full 8 PES for the Mac Version. It was a download that was provided with a bamboo tablet, and I got a serial for this product key, also. So I downloaded the .dmg from Gigabyte to almost 1.3 and wanted to address file to install it. I had the following problem:

  When I click on "setup" - file, everything works fine (I guess), and then there is a screen that says: well, I have to translate it because I use the German Version: "system profiles are checked." It's exactly the screen once I typed my user name and password. And when I'm on this screen, it still load up to about 90% and then stops. I sometimes waited for about an hour, but it does load more.

  Of course, I thought, there was a problem with the download, so I deleted and downloaded again. The same problem.

  So I thought that, maybe, the PS5 demo version that I downloaded from the Adobe homepage will work. But no, same problem. So, it seems to have nothing to do with the file downloaded.

  I searched on the internet all day, but has not found something that helped me. I've never had any sort of photoshop or other adobe products on my mac (except for flash); and I had the newer operating system. I have an Intel MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.6.

  I hope someone here can help me, I have seen many people having the same problem, but even has not found a way to solve it.

  In order to address a problem with Photoshop elements 14, I installed my copy of PES 11 as an alternative.

  This meant that it was the version associated with the .dng files and others instead of PES 11.

  So now I can use PSE 14 for most of my image editing and retreating to PES 11 for Photomerge panoramas that IMHO it handles better.

  Problem solved.  Seems to have been a combination of HP Support Assistant, eager to check updates and Avast2015 are not satisfied with some aspects of the installation.  Ended up uninstalling Avast, installation of PSE 13 and then re - install Avast.

  If you had only one installation, you should still be able to install even without contact Support Adobe since you are allowed to have enabled facilities on both machines.  But if you need to disable it for the original you will so like one that is available.
