• Nik plug-ins don't work in PSE 12

  First of all, let me say that the main problem is in my computer.  It is underpowered for photo editing.  However, I can usually do what I need with PSE10.  Nik's work mainly in .tif, sometimes I need to convert to JPEG.  Nik does not at all in the PES 12, as soon as I hit him "Save" the image disappears, pick up same elements with it. Also, I tried to run the full version of Photoshop but my computer said 'no '. I use Lightroom 4 without problem.

  I'm maxed out at 16 GB of ram.  Hopefully a new computer is on the horizon, but probably not for months.

  Does anyone know why PSE 12 breaks down and PES 10 does not work?

• PES 11 installation problems

  I have PSE 8 and manage installation PES 11. It downloads OK, but during the installation, I get the error message "the following applications are using files should be updated by this installation." Close these applications and click on retyr. ElementsAutoanalyzer.exe ". I can't take this step and my current version of PSE 8 does not work.

  Right-click of your taskbar (to launch the Task Manager) > stop this exe.

  Make sure that pse8 is not running.  You can safely ignore the warning of data loss.

• Photoshop elements Organizer 11: display full screen of low-grade with PES 10, before?

  The upgrade of the PES 10 to 11, I noticed that when I look at my images with the Organizer in PSE 11 in full display mode screen (F11), while the images load faster, they are presented in a lower quality PES 10 or any other version of the EPS I owned before. In PES 11, after first viewing in full screen (in "fit screen" mode), when I click with the mouse on an image to view the '100% ', there is a delay and the program says "Loading"... ", after which 100% in the mode display full screen. When I click and then once with the mouse on the image to return to "fit screen" mode, I get a better image quality than when the initial view!

  So it seems that the program first gives a faster display, but more low quality of the image in full screen mode, and only after that the user requests a 100% view, it actually loads the image with all the details, which are then kept when to return to the display "fit screen". It is a serious problem for me, because I also use PSE Organizer to show my photos to other people, and I don't want to show them some versions of lower quality of my images, but the full quality, without having to first select 'view 100% ' and then go back to "fit screen".

  Support adobe today confirmed me that there is a new feature of PES 11: When you press F11 in the Organizer, the image full screen that discover you is actually a miniature pre-recorded with a lower resolution. Only after that you look at the image in full screen at 100%, it loads the image full resolution, that's why there is another delay load in this step. This has changed from previous versions, including 10 PES, apparently in order to save memory and make the program more quickly.

  However, actually, that means that after all the work, a photographer did, using expensive equipment in order to obtain sharp high-resolution images, the PES 11 Organizer allows them to watch you in full screen only as a miniature! (Unless, of course, whenever you click first at the sight of 100% and then back to the 'fit to screen'.)

  They have taken this up to the next higher layer of support, at least. I hope they make at least an option to load the image of good quality immediately when pressing F11. (As it was in previous versions of PSE).

  Each version of the EP is the only one. PSE 8 will not overwrite PES 11 and you get no PSE 8 PSE 11 without paying. If you want to PES 11 you'll still buy it. Technically, there is a price to upgrade, but it is generally cheaper to buy full version, if you shop around.

  The one area that could be a problem with the installation of PSE 8, is that if you have created an organizing catalog with PES 11, PES 8 cannot do something with it. (If you upgrade an older to a newer version, the organizer can convert the catalog, but it does not work the other way).

  Because (for reasons that are not suitable to my questions): I can not reasonably migrate to new Versions of PSE and I'm more or less stuck for a few years for the use of PSE V10. I'm so looking for a relatively effective solution to the process/change (a small percentage) of the RAW files from my new future/camera (s) with the combination of PSE V10 and CR 6.4.1 (according to my understanding, PSE V10 does not support CR 8.6 - PSE V10 not even allows you to import new cameras RAW files in the PSE catalog).

  I was hoping that the DNG Converter could be a good solution for me. I intended

  • to convert the RAW files from my new camera (and my new future cameras) with an updated version of the DNG Converter,
  • import the .dng files in PSE V10
  • and then access to (and then for a few of them: change) DNG files with the combination of PSE V10 and CR 6.4.1.

  However, I felt recently, the profile only camera of the CR 6.4.1 that makes reasonably well my new compact camera Canon Powershot G16 DNG files is the 'Adobe Standard' of the camera profile.  In my tests with the combination of PSE V10 and ACR 6.4.1, rendering of these files with other CR 6.4.1 DNG profiles (for example the 'faithful camera' profile) (on colors and brightness/contrast) is really ugly and (to a layperson like me) more or less unusable (while rendering the same DNG file with the profile "Camera Faithfull" from the combination of CR 8.6 + PSE V13 is entirely reasonable).

  May I ask the following questions to someone who is familiar with the format, DNG and CR?

  1. My observations (i.e. made ugly of Canon Powershot G16 photos with the "profile trusty camera" ACR 6.4.1) correspond to what experts DNG should and expect?
  2. What is the likely reason for the ugly rendering of the 'faithful Camera' profile of the VC 6.4.1? The converter DNG not include a specific G16 'Faithful Camera' profile in the DNG file?
  3. Or do you think I did something wrong and I'm the one to blame for the ugly rendering with the 'Faithful Camera' profile used by CR 6.4.1? If this is the case: I have probably wrong and what can I do better?
  4. Do you think that the combination of the PSE V10 and CR 6.4.1, I'm having similar problems with the conversion to DNG Raw files in the future cameras as the successor to the Nikon D5300 or D7100 (which I'd probably buy once available)? Or do you think that the problems that I encountered with the Powershot G16 photos are not likely to occur with most other new camwras?

  Have you tried camera raw 6.7 in EPS 10?

  This is the last plugin raw from the camera to the EP 10.

• PES 11 convert all files in PSE 8

  less than half of the points in our catalog of PSE 8 appear in the converted catalog. I did several times of backups and the result is the same. I have re = import, but all the marking and editing information will be lost.  What should do?

  Brett: I have correctected the problem. PES wants to store the data of the catalogue in his favorite place. He looked there and found an old catalog. No matter how many times I have indicated where was the correct catalog, he went to the catalog that he had already converted.

  When I emptied PSE 8 and PES 11 slots catalog default and converted the one I wanted to convert, everything is good. He put the catalog where he wanted, of course. I won't go there because it is easier to backup and share the application if the catalog is where are the pictures.   When you start PES 11 Installation it won't ask you to uninstall any earlier version like they can co-exist on the Machine. If you do not want to PSE 7 and then uninstall it first, then install PES 11.

  I just loaded PES 11 (PSE 7 upgrade) but when I click on my tags, no photos appear.  But when I click on the albums, albums/photos appear.  Does anyone else have this problem and a solution?  Thank you.

  You must click on the small arrow in front of tags to filter the results.

• If you uninstall PES 9 & reinstall PSE will rebuild my organizer?

  N ° it won't rebuild the catalog. Your categories, tags, etc. will remain safe.

  PS If you use PSE on Mac, DO NOT check the option to remove preferences. They remain on the computer, otherwise you must provide the path of the catalog again at the launch of PSE.

  I have Windows 7 and recently upgraded to PSE 8 and have had problems with Picture Mail and email attachments. I have no problems with an attachment to email with PES 6 so I wonder if I can run the 6 and 8. Will there be a problem of catalog? When I loaded PSE 8 the first time the catalog had to be converted. This will make it unstable for PSE 6?
