Installation of Radeon 5870 on Acer Predator G3-605

Hi, I am trying to install a Radeon 5870 but I get just a black screen.

Things I've tried:

(1) built-in VGA connection and start in safe mode, stop, remove, install gfx card and reboot. Screen stays black

2) enabled by the PCI-E power in the bios

It's a fairly old card around 2010, but it still works very well on my old rig from Dell is certainly not a map of the dead.

Hey, Nickt.

There are two possibilities.

1: maybe the video card you are trying to install on this computer is not compatible.

2: the PCI slot that you install the card could be faulty.

If you are able to install another video on this computer with no problems card means that the problem is with the compatiibility.

If the computer showing the same behavior with all video cards means that the problem is with the computer (the port). In this case, you can contact Acer support team, they will help you.

    Hello.
I got my Acer Predator G3 605 last week, but the system was slow.
So I decided to put my SSD OCZ Agility 120 GB 2 expansion slot and instal windows drive there.
As a first step, it starts up fine and work fast. I installed all the updates and soft, reboot several times and no problems.
After I put everything I have delete the windows HARD disk partition. Then system stop when windows starts.

    So far, I tried this:
    1. several resettlement on the SSD and HDD image or clean install.
    2. all the BIOS for SECURE BOOT settings (on/stop/standard/custom/key on / key removed) and CSM.
    3. I connect only SSD or HDD only and do recover or new installation.
4 delete all partitions and recover / clean installation.
    5. update of the BIOS/SSD firmware
6 recovery discs acer does not help. Even that resetting the BIOS.

Nothing helps. He works until the 'Configuration' window material and after the reboot that it stuck.
No idea what can be wrong and how to fix it?
    I do not know more
    Thanks for any help.

I finally found a solution by myself, so I'll post my solution here in case someone will have the same problem.
It works for me, can't promise it will work for everyone.

    My step by step solution:
    1. I created WindowsToGo on my USB with this statement:
    http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/FAQ/ID-1867613/create-Windows-drive-Windows-enterprise.html
    2. from Acer Support I have download all the latest drivers for my Acer Predator G3 605 and extract everything to a special folder on my USB key
    3. I disconnect my HDD SATA cable drive (there is still no connected SSD)
    4. in the bios I have disable startup secure, activate the start menu and CSM always turn on
    5. After restart I press F12 and the start menu, I selected my USB with WinToGo
    6. once my Windows go hardware and post installation preparation I finally see the start menu.
    7. the first thing to do was connect my HDD SATA cable so windows automatically detects the drive
    8. I open prompt by admin, type diskpart, and then list disk, my HARD drive has disk 0 so I type select disk 0, then clean type
    9. I have installed all the drivers for my Acer and restart
10 after restarting, I go to my pre downloaded BIOS updated and open the app updated
11 choose ROM file, choose update all (not only part of pre selected), then click FLASH
12 reboot, unplug my USB and put it in my installation USB Windows 8 key (DVD can also be used)
    13. from Windows install go to advance the installation and choose the HARD drive (in this point installation program said that cannot be installed on this drive as bios don't have drivers, but I could still create partition, so I did two create and click Next)
    14. After all server files have been copied computer auto restart
15 Windows 8 shows the information for the preparation of the devices (it was the last part of work for me before, cuz after computer restart blocked)
    16. after restarting Windows boot and go to the Customization screen. Everything works.

I have to keep secure boot off and CSM on yet.

  • Gel with my Acer predator g3-605

    Hello

First of all, I would say I'm sorry for my bad English because it is not my mother tongue.

So here's my problem: since I bought my acer predator g3-605 I gel on it when I play games.

I searched and found that I am not the only one having these gel but none of the solutions helped me.

I tried a lot of solutions such as:

    • Update the drivers via Geforce experience
    • Uninstall/reinstall applications/games that freeze
    • Move the games/applications on the disk HARD or, on the contrary, to the SSD.
    • Factory (!) "restart" at the beginning

I found a similar post of my friends on this forum, but the only solution for him was to send his pc to replace it with another computer, and I'd found a solution without changing my PC.

    With our thanks,

I think your motherboard is faulty. I suggest you contact your Acer support.

Sorry I can't help you more.

  • Re: Acer Predator G3-605-UR2F desktop computer. Are open PCIe slots v3.0?

I recently bought a new Predator G3-605-UR2F.  While I find that the machine has two PCIe x 1, I can't find out if these locations are compatible v3.0 (or?).  I am particularly interested in installing one of the new Intel 750 Series SSD which use the PCI rather than SATA III interface to significantly increase the speed of R/W.  Thanks in advance for your answer.

Thank you very much. According to what I read today, the machine has indeed the B85 Intel chipset, so I'll give you upward on the new Intel PCIe SSD at the moment. Thanks again for your insight!

  • Acer Predator AG3-605 case fans?

Hello, I saw that the predator AG3-605 does not come with box fans, but has the slots for them, I just wanted to know what size fan do I need for the side and rear of the case.

    Saniro,

You made a good observation, but the system is designed for energy efficiency and the optimal use of the way in which it has been designed from the factory. I just found a location for a system fan and it's backward. Looks like it can accommodate 80mm or 120mm fan, but I'm not sure that these specifications are not included because it was not designed with the idea of using or needing the extra airflow.

  • Factory reset is not possible Acer Predator G3-605

I want to reset my PC to factory settings, but I am unable to do so at the present time as the erecovery management program is not on my computer. My PC has used the option to reset windows 10 for unknown reasons, and now all the files and programs are gone. When I open the menu troubleshooting using alt + f10 during boot and press full reset then it says that some files are missing and I cannot reset. This means that my pc has no option to restore factory on its own as far as I know.

If you know a way to fix it, please let me know!

    Thank you

    A little.

If you have installed windows 10 more then 30 days, your old OS partition disappeared, so probably the recovery partition.

  • How correctly to install RAM in my Acer Predator AG3-605-UR2F

I have to get out the existing 8 GB of ram that it comes with? I have to do something for the operating system so that it recognizes the new ram once I install it? (Beginner)

to take on the original of the ram, it depends on how much ram you need.

8GB is a good amount, but if you wanto to raise 16 GB and your Predator has only 2 RAM sticks, you can add a different RAM sticks 2 without removing the original ram but sticks

2 new RAM sticks must be exactly the same as the original or you will face a lot of questions.

If you want to raise up to 32 GB of ram, you can buy 4 8 GB ram sticks, so take off the original.

On the OS, there is no problem, the program will automatically configure at least if BIOS recognizes the right amount of ram installed.

It's the list of replacement ram OEM:

  • Just got a new Acer Predator yesterday suddenly horrible lag frequent... Please help?

So I just bought an Acer Predator AG3-605-UR2F of Newegg.com, pre-installed with Windows 8 and receipt in the mail yesterday. It was working great until this morning, and now whenever I start the PC it works fine for about 20 to 40 minutes, then this shift terrible stuttering starts and doesn't stop until I reboot. It happens intermittently, every couple seconds, and all the sounds that play during the shift turns to this horrible grinding glitch. Even after I disable all my apps, it's still there, and it seems to get worse if I watch videos or a Skype call.

I can't seem to find answers online, and I don't know why a completely new computer would act this way? Any help at all would be appreciated!

Edit: The discrepancy seems if go away for awhile if I unplug my mouse and keyboard and then reconnect them, also my keyboard seems to have some sort of startup connectivity problems? I don't know if it's related, but it's the only other real issue in that I ran.

Or try this: Ctrl-Alt-Del to load the Task Manager
Search in the background process to find "Intel (r) technology access Service."
Right click and choose "end task".

  • Motherboard on Predator G3-605 and RAM

Good afternoon - well at least for my part of the world. :-)

I bought an Acer Predator G3-605 (new) a little over a week ago.

I have to admit that it's such a long time ago since I have read on different data components, and I still have knowledge of black holes in particular as to the compatibility.

I have two questions: the compatibility a rearding first and a second related to something else.

    Question 1:

After some research, I found that the motherboard is indeed called "Predator G3 - 605'.» Well, on on the net-based stores carrying this model of Acer, the record shows that the RAM is 1600 MHz. I am yet to know (from my black holes of the knowledge of the computer) If this detailed specification showed information for specific components of RAM installed, or if this MSL tells that this megaherz / RAM type, which is the only type that can manage the card mother Predator G3 - 605?

I ask because I want to upgrade the RAM in the machine, and I wonder if I need to stay below the megaherz listed under the plug, or if I can use other megaherz, as long as I keep DDR3 - naturally -?

For you who have a good knowledge of computers in general, this first issue of the mine should be very easy to answer.

    Question 2:

This issue is related to my attempt at an online chat after that I registered my Predator G3 - 605 an hour ago, I've done through the program "Acer Portal" which was already on my machine. So, immediately showed as registered successfully, but when I went on the chat, and plotted in my serial number, this info came:

«Our records indicate that you have entered the serial number is no longer eligible to warranty support.»

If you feel that this information is incorrect, please analyze and present a copy of your proof of purchase. »

(I have download the documents a few moments ago.)

I realize that this must be because I'm from Europe that I probably can't get help via a chat, but I still react on the info where my machine supposedly is not eligible for warranty support, that looks like my machine is too old for her.

I guess also that my machine do not appear as "eligible for warranty support" even though I downloaded the documents, and I have to call my local Acer support for all kinds of questions.

Should not rather the info automated show that the product is in warranty period, but not eligible to support from outside the country of purchase?

Fortunately this community exists, and I know that communities like these are usually a great help!

Especially easy question I had expected an easy game for many people. :-)

    Thanks for your time.

If the finder memory does not work, you can always contact their sales dept to ensure you buy the right product.

    http://www.Kingston.com/us/company/contacts#tech

It's always a more sure bet to buy ram with the same voltage than what you have installed, but I would probably check with Kingston.

  • Acer Predator running win 8.1 that I want to upgrade to win 10. What recovery disc?

I have an installed two years with Win 8.1 old Acer predator. I want to upgrade to Win 10, but I'm concerned about what will happen if I get a hard drive at some point failure. Should I pay for another set of recovery disks? Or will I have to install Win 8 of the discs I have, then move to 8.1, and then to win 10?

If your HARD drive dies, you can use your recovery disk windows 8 and then switch to 10 without going through 8.1

    but...

I can suggest an easy way.

You can create an image just system after the upgrade to windows 10, have your drivers updated to version 10 of windows and make sure that your system is stable.

After that, with the windows tool, you can create the system image on DVD or external HARD drive and use it to re - install your copy of windows 10 as you just improved.

    http://www.CNET.com/how-to/how-to-create-a-system-image-in-Windows-10/

to use an image from windows system, you need a windows bootable 10 installation media but it's easy to get from microsoft:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

Download the .iso file and burn it to a DVD.

then, at the end, you start from the DVD and choose repair your PC and select to load the image of the system.

  • Acer Predator 17 SSD G9-792-75ZT error

Hi everyone I recently bought an acer predator 17 in one of the local stores from the Philippines last October 5, 2016. Overall, the quality is excellent and it works what is said. I have some of my favorite and need games apps installed in the computer, but after that, the system keeps on crashing. I tried to restore from the previous version until it becomes completely unaccesible.

I tried to run the reset in the system recovery but the samsung mzvpv256hdgl-00000 256 gb SSD was locked. I tried to remove the volume completely and reinstall the partition. He worked a few times, but it's really unacessible even after that. I tried to copy some files, reinstall windows, but it says incorrect function. I can't open the disc itself, because of the warranty.

I also noticed that after anything in the ssd, it will disappear causing my laptop to slow down. the news of controller and lun was also is not found even in the "diskpart" command What do you think is the cause and the solution to this?

    Symptoms:

    1. the material can be recognized in the bios (inconsistent).

2 do you have a reformat using the administrative tools

3 reset the bios AHCI, RAID and LEGACY UEFI

    4. the path of the controller is not located (value 0)

    5. currently installed windows hard disk

    6. After reformatting or copy a file, the hard drive no longer not recognized except restart.

    7. I just installed vlc, DBMS, sibelius, steam and dota 2 once it crashed.

    8. currently, SSD is completely reformatted but still can not 'normally' access'

9 used dedicated nvme samsung for SM951 driver, but still the same thing

I currently work as sailor so coming back to the manufacturer is not easy. Is it possible that they can change the right ssd if the found it defective? I mean in this day there also because given the nature of my work. We do not stay in a country long.

Thanks for all those who who' the response. Good day.

    This is a strange behavior.

I suggest that you contact Acer Center support in your area from your laptop of predator is under warranty as you said that you just bought. You must contact them to find out how long it would take to repair or where bring or send the laptop.

  • Acer Predator G9-792-77 K 4 issue

    Hello!

I really need help guys (I would like a response from acer)

I'm having some problems with Acer Predator G9-792-77 K 4

In Windows 10 when I press the icon for notifications and try to activate Tablet he mode or bluetooth and I move my mouse to this button... .can be seen a mouse lag... I tried to watch a youtube video, and while I watch, to press them... and video accuses even.

I know it's not important, but this mouse lag which makes some of my games freeze randomly.

I sent the laptop to Acer serving, but they have not found something... they just changed to SSD, but that has not solved the problem.

As if I disable Intel HD 530 or Nvidia gtx 970 m from the Device Manager, I saw this thing does not happen.

So I tried to find the other drivers but was useless.

So... is a hardware, drivers or Windows 10 problem?

    Sorry for the bad English.

    Thank you!

I think at this point, it is best to contact Acer customer service again.

If you want to try one last thing, Device Manager, uninstall the Intel HD530 device and choose to uninstall the software too, reboot and let windows to re - install the driver.
