Installation of Vista Edition Family Premium disk reformatted.
I want to reformat my hard drive and do a clean install. I have Vista Home Premium OEM (bought from Newegg for this PC, I built). I have to install original OEM disk, then go to SP1 and then install SP2? I already downloaded the standalones for SP1 and SP2 from Microsoft.
I would have liked to go to Win 7, but finances are extremely limited at the moment. If a new installation will (or should) fix my problems with uninstall AVG 2011. He fubarred my system really bad.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated
Vista requires Sp1 before installing SP2. Otherwise, there are some problems that appear in the system. Do things in order as you list above and everything will be fine. Enjoy.

Whenever I try to install or to uninstall or upgrade programs even I can't do so until the Windows Installer will not work. I downloaded the cleanup utility and it will not run. It stops with "internal error 2908" and if I continuously press the OK key it will then stop the installation with "Error 1406". It is really a nuisance and need to be repaired. What can I do?
Have you tried the logging option and if so did throw any light on the matter?
Have you tried creating a new user and see if it is more likely?
Looks like (for me) it's the access permissions problem that is behind all this?
Here is a small tool that you could look to see what's happening under the hood.

Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE: Installation of Vista Edition Home Premium processor in a box
Hi guys, I would like to ask you a difficult question for me :)
I have Toshiba Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE with Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit OEM Czech and
DVD from Toshiba product recovery. I converted (boxed) Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 Eng as a gift
There are. And now to the point :) - I would like to install this new Vista Home Premium instead of
Home base OEM.1.) am I allowed to install Home Premium without any problem? (I'm worried the WinRE partition)
2.) if I can't do it because of the WinRE partition, can I save this partition and remove it?
(3.) if I do, I am able to download all the drivers from Toshiba site driver Toshiba (value
added package for the most part)?4.) I am able to download all the utilities Toshiba?
5.) if I use the product Recovery DVD in the future (with this Home Basic OEM), it will work if WinRE partition
is deleted?Thank you for your response.
Hello
(1) you can install the new Vista easily. When installing new Vista installation program should create a new WinRE partition too. If don t be worried. But I recommend creating a backup of your important files such as mp3, photos, etc...
(2) you can do the installation should be possible and should go smoothly. But don t forget to include the SATA drivers that are necessary to recognize the HARD drive. On the Toshiba page, you might find the Intel Storage Manager that contains the SATA driver. Include the driver during the installation procedure using the F6 key.
(3) Yes, Vista drivers should appear on the page of the European driver Toshiba.
(4) see point 3 ;)
(5) the product recovery DVD will format the whole HARD drive. It will delete the partitions and all will remove the HARD drive. And it will also create the new WinRE partition. Simply said; the Toshiba Vista recovery DVDs will fix the laptop back to factory settings

Windows Vista Edition Family Premium Reload
My WVHP crashed and he was not recoverable, despite several attempts. I reloaded my original WXP Pro and I am trying to reload my WVHP upgrade CD.
When I enter the product key for HP tells me that an existing version of Windows must be installed (there is the XP Pro) and, in addition, I do not get a prompt for a clean install.
Another thing, just as a lark and see if the hard drive or the BIOS had problems I loaded Win7 temporarily, of a pure install and it worked fine. I loaded a new installation of XP Pro on it and then tried the Vistga upgrade. Anyone have any ideas?

Carn t new installation windows 7 Edition family premium 64 bit on acer aspire m3201
Hello
Im having some difficulties to do a clean install of windows 7 64 bit on my acer aspire desktop... I've tried about everything I could think of... to my dvd player would not read the dvd so I plugged in another dvd drive in and copied the files on my hard drive then burned the files to a dvd disk that was not read DVDs and that solved that problem, so I rebooted my pc and it just loaded up vista , so I rebooted again, but went into the bios and changed the MBR on the recorded dvd disc selection and you leave, there are some boots in vista... I do not understand why it does that... so I then upgrade vista 32-bit to windows 7 32 bit and tried all over again... still no luck...any ideas?
I fixed it by a method very few Orthodox... I changed my preference to start on my dvd drive and disabled the hard drive... rebooted, then as he was starting I quickly hit the keys on the keyboard shatter the boot and got to the screen where it says not start in safe mode, last good know Setup, start windows normally and so on... I decided to select start windows normally and it came with the do you want to install windows screen... installed and everything is good, im now running windows 7 home premium 64-bit

Windows Vista Edition Family Premium WIN.exe?
Recently I went to log-in to my account on this computer, and a CMD box came with this huge list and the coding of this directory:
'C:\Windows\System32\install\WIN.exe '.
I have never seen this before from today. Here is a screenshot of what I got from him: bit.ly/System32Win
What would be of fact this CMD appear suddenly? And how do I get rid of him without ruining my computer anyway, if possible?
Hello
· Were there any changes made to your computer before this problem?
Step 1: Check if the problem persists in Mode without failure.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Step 2: Try to scan the computer using Antivirus software because this problem can occur if the computer is infected with the virus. You can use the Microsoft Security Analyzer by clicking on link http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/
Note: once a virus is removed, you will need to reinstall some software, or restore lost information.

Hello
I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.
This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.
