Installation of Windows on Satellite C50-B-12Z

Well. I have my laptop 1 year and 2 days he died there and appeared to me a screen saying I need to plug a flash drive or cd with repair tools... I had not one so I tried to install a windows operating system 7... (I also tried to repair a windows installation 8 but nothing..) while I'm in installing windows 7 he tells me there is an error that windows is unable to install to the location--> my hard drive...

What should do?

Hello

First of all, you must Access the BIOS and must:
-disable secure boot
-pass the CSM UEFI.

After that save changes, exit BIOS and restart the installation of Win 7.

How to install windows 10 usb?

In my opinion, you should check if your notebook is supported for Win10 at first and after doing the automatic update of the installation.

You want to install version Win10 clean, right? Have you checked if all the drivers, tools and utilities are available for your laptop model?

  • Satellite C50-B-12Z - to upgrade the RAM up to 8GB

I have Satellite C50-B-12Z, and I want to improve his memory of 8 GB of ram. Crucial memory site says that with my laptop is recommended 8 GB ram 12800, but would be less expensive to put a barrette dimm 4 GB of ram, since my laptop already has 4 GB of ram?

Is it possible to have the problem since the RAM dimm fault its Samsung and I want to install a memory of brand? (all other spec of ram are identical, frequency, voltage, etc.) ?

    Hello

At first some basic on your laptop model info: you are right, it can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM. Your laptop has two RAM slots, and according to specification for laptop, there must be a 4 GB so strips you need to do is add the second module of 4 GB.
It is always recommended to use two identical modules.
Original 4 GB of RAM has part number PA5104U-1M4G, so I recommend get you the same.

Problem is that your machine is not supported for upgrading RAM by user and access to the RAM slots is quite complicated. The whole bottom cover needs to be removed and it must be done by the authorized service provider.

If you try to do it yourself you will lose the warranty.
My advice to you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and pick up some info on this.

  • Installation of recovery on Satellite C50-A-1Jn

My son has a Satellite C50-A-1john and was doing a restore of the partition of drive hard, but stopped at halfway.

When it tries to start, it receives the message "no boot device - please reboot."

He did not create a floppy disk to restore his laptop, but I found where I can order one from Toshiba. Before I spend £30, I want to know if it will restore his laptop.

Recovery image installation can not be interrupted. Now, the laptop is confused and unbootable. Problem is that interrupted recovery installation cannot continue, cannot be started from the beginning and also not ended correctly.

What you need to do now is to get the installation of recovery disc and start the installation again.

After doing this you will have factory again and everything works OK.
Biggest mistake has been that media recovery is not created in the past.

but where can I found it?

I have not the driver or the ultilities... because his second hand trade...
    can anyone giv help me?

    Thank you...

OK, first, all drivers and utilities you need can be found here: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com (Support & downloads). Choose your laptop computer and operating system.

Windows tells you, it does not find your HARD drive because of the lack of SATA drivers. They are in the Matrix Storage Manager intel, which can be downloaded on the link above.

How to use this forum just use search function driver, but you have two options. Put them on floppy or integrate them into your installation via the tool called nlite disc.

  • Windows 7 Installation on Satellite C50-A-1 possible?

Thank you for reading my topic.

    I bought a Toshiba Satellite C50-A-1 and I can't install Windows 7 on it.

I updated the BIOS V1.30 again after that, I have only the Secure Boot option to enable or disable

There is no option to switch to the CSM or inheritance, because I know that this MUST be done before I can install Windows 7.

Is it possible to install a Win7 on this laptop?

    Thank you

    Elmar

    Hello

I ve checked the download from Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp page and I see your model of laptop is not supported for Win7, so I think that it is meaningless to install if the drivers, tools, and utilities are not available for download.

Here is some information on my laptop:

    Product code: PSCGNV - 00Y001AR

    Serial number: 2E161369S

She was purchased by the Qatar.

I hope you will reply quickly.

    Thank you.

    Hello

According to specifications specification , you got your laptop with the preinstalled version of Win8.1.
With other words, your laptop has been pre-installed with original recovery image designed for this model of laptop. Preinstalled recovery image should not be enabled.

Recovery image is also saved on the HARD drive and it is possible for you to create bootable recovery media (backup recovery) that you can use for the installation of original recovery image.
    > I'll reinstall my windows 8.1 which came preinstalled on my Toshiba laptop.
If I understand you right you try to use your laptop with the original recovery image again. Is this good?

I really don't know what's the problem here, but after the first start, connect your laptop to the Internet and complete the installation. Preinstalled Windows must be activated automatically.

  • Install Windows 7 on Satellite C50-A-1JT

    Hello world

I bought a brand new satellite C50-A-1JT PSCJGE of Romania with no OS.

First, I tried to install Windows 7 for about one day and does not start, on DVD or USB, only Windows 8, but after I searched on this topic, I discovered that I need to change my settings to MSC Boot UEFI bios and disable the startup of the Secué.

NOT A CHANCE. Instead of a normal BIOS I have that Setup Utility from Toshiba and I have only the option of Boot Order and Secure Boot, who don't have not helped me.

I thought that my BIOS is outdated (1.10)
So went on the Toshiba site and performed a search for an update of the BIOS and the only one was the following:
    [BIOS 1.30-VICTORY for a Satellite C55 - has, C50 - A: http://www.toshiba.com.ro/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?LNG=27&service=SE&selC fulltext = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 312 & selProduct = 793 4 & selShortMod = 4628 & language = 47 & selOS = 46 & selType = 4 & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = allMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & count ry = all & selectedLanguage = 47 & type = 4 & page = 1 & ID = 90346 & DISO =-1 & driverLanguage = 42]

.. but unafortunatelly, it's not available.

So, I have no chance of getting Windows 7 on this laptop?... because I hate 8

Many machines Win8 is supported for Win7 so, in general, you shouldn't have a few big problems. As you've written, you must first change the settings of the BIOS - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm

After that restart your computer and press F12. When the boot menu appears on the screen put Win7 installation disc into the optical disc drive, select CD/DVD as first boot device and press ENTER. ODD must begin to read the Win7 installation disc and the installation program will appear on the screen.

On this path, I installed Win7 on my U940 satellite.

Please try again and post comments.

  • Satellite C50 - update Windows questions

    Hello

I bought a Satellite C50 windows 8 year last for my partner (who has the patience of a gnat and click on everything and nothing), when windows updates were installed on a month ago, she lost the office link, she kept flashing on and outside. She managed to access the Internet through internet Explorer tab (only for the bingo & ebay lol).

An other recent windows update took forever to load then a failure to configure changes return messages that froze the laptop.

Yesterday, I managed to return to the default value, all settings, after all personal preferences, I went to update the page to change the settings to apply updates before installing, and he said he had to be updated before choosing the updates!

I'm back there again and I was wondering if there was a specific update that is causing all this trouble. Although my bank balance is looking better, I'll throw this lappy in the bin and just buy another!

    Help, please. Thanks :)

    Hello

In general, I agree with the view of s IronMan.
The point is that you can always set the computer laptop initial configuration using the recovery procedure.

After this procedure the system windows will install updates from Microsoft.
This may take some time and the unit must be restarted several times during this procedure.

A system update will install before other updates have been installed.
Therefore, this process could take a little longer.

In addition, you will need to update to the latest system 8.1 Win the old Win 8.
This can be done after have installed all updates to Win 8.
The Win 8.1 update should be done as recommended by Toshiba.

The complete step by step instruction can be found here:
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

You will be also informed about updates of Toshiba Toshiba service station preinstalled.
In this case, it will be very easy to get the latest version of the driver.

I hope this helps a little

I think I'm a format and a new installation of windows 2000 (windows 98se running sound) may be useful. However, I don't have the original recovery disk, although I own an original copy of Windows 2000 Professional.

  • Installation of Windows XP on satellite Pro A200/S01

    Toshiba Satellite A200/S01 PSAF6A-06S01N
I need help to determine which driver I need to install to control the SATA hard drive.

Because many know that the SATA drives will not work when installing Windows XP, Windows XP does not have drivers for this type of hard drive.

I have located on drivers site Web for hard disk for a toshiba XP machine, but I am unable to determine which driver to install (list of 15 when I load floppy)? or it doesn't work because the machine was installed with vista?

Is it possible to match a HDD to the pilot?

    Background:
I formatted the hard drive, xp installation disc is xp pro with Service Pack 2.

I hope someone could help me because it makes me crazy ready to give up and reinstall vista on the machine

    Hello

The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
There are a lot of discussions on this subject.

I found these two Toshiba HowTo that describes step by step how to do:

+ How to integrate the AHCI driver during the installation of Windows XP.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm

+ How to integrate a SATA AHCI driver into a Windows XP Setup CD.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm

Seems the Satellite A200/S01 PSAF6A-06S01N belongs to the Australian series of Toshiba.
Drivers of this laptop are on the Toshiba on THE page but you can also download the Storage Manager Intel from the page of the European driver Toshiba or Intel page because the hardware is the same.

  • Need help with the installation of Windows XP Home on my Satellite Pro A300-1DZ

    Hi all.

I have a Satellite Pro A300-1DZ system unit, model no PSAG1E-OOFOO4EN (think they are 'o' and not '0', circle with slash through it) with WXP Pro.

I recently contracted a virus inside and as he removed, however it is not good so I want to re - install Windows XP Home edition. I backed up the computer, I have a Windows XP Home SP2 Pro edition disk and I have my product key.
I put the CD/DVD in BIOS to run 1 drive and tells me that I can boot from the CD, I press a button and it loads the CD, select the option where to install windows.

BUT! I can t go further than what windows does not detect the HD said he s not now, or whatever.

My question is this: Please can someone me step by step instructions on how to reinstall XP and a link to all the drivers I need to make it work?

    PLEEASE!

It's simple on my PC, also, please keep in mind, I am best suited for working on cars, I'm not stupid, but my calloused hands search for computers a little more difficult than Motors please not in many computer technical terms.
I myself am the slow education in the dark arts of computers. LOL :)

PS. the laptop has a Vista Basic sticker on it, but it is certainly the XP pro operating system. :)

    Hi jeff

    Here's your solution:
    1. go to bios with F2 when you see the toshiba start screen.
    2. Select the arrow to the left using the "Advanced".
3 press down until you get to "SATA Controller Mode".
4 change, using F7/F8, Chang [AHCI] setting [compatibility].
    5. make sure the CD/DVD drive is the first to start and F10 save and exit. computer restart when you are prompted to "press any key" press a button and hey presto as before windows will start the installation, but this time you won't get windows you said:

Set up did not find Ant hard disks installed on your computer.

Make sure any drive HARD are powered on and properly connected to your computer and any hard disk related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or Setup program.

implementation cannot continue press f3 to goto hell... uh I mean leaving the installation

And you can continue on your installation of Windows XP Home edition.

Hope I helped many other jeff's in the same boat. XD
