Installation plan

Hello all-

I'm planning an installation of version 11.1.2. In total, I have 2 servers and one I want to install Essbase and on the other all companents planning. I was going through the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management tutorial

System installation and Configuration Guide & Just wanted to ensure that if things if I understand right.

1. from page 30 to 80 of the present document indicates which files all I should chill out on the local mcahine to install the individual component. So for example, if a server I use for Essbase I download all the required files that are specified in this document and

Unzip it in the folder download_location.

2. the server B, I will so the same thing and unzip the remaining files for foundation service, planning, etc.

3. after the installation and configuration of services of the Foundation on server B I have to install it on a server and not configure?

4. I would like to run a Configurator separately on server A & B to configure the individual components that must be installed on individual machines.

There is some confusion in my mind as what are the common elements that I need on servers & if the confuguration for products must be run separately to individual servers, or from the server where the service of the Foundation is

installed.

Thank you!

His favorite keep retrieves all components in a network drive, or indeed share folder.

1. the server where you need to install Essbase, extract Installer, part 1, part 4, the additional components and Essbase part 1 and 2.
2. on the server B, where you want to install planning, extracted Setup, part 1, part 4, the additional components and planning.

3. you must go forward with the installation of first shared service.
4. on the other server when you want to configure, you will need to select Connect with the previously configured shared service

5. Yes, you will need to run the Configurator separately.

See you soon... !!!

  • Which Service Packs I have install during the installation of operating system?

I intend to do a clean install of Windows XP Edition family on a replacement hard drive.  At this hour I'll also install updates recommended.  Should what Service Packs I install?

Microsoft sites are ambiguous or incomplete information.  From my reading, it seems that I need to install the Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 to install Service Pack 3.  And yet the Service Packs are supposed to be cumulative updates, containing all updates released before the release of the latest Service Pack.  Have to install only the Service Pack 3 would be my preference, which would do the trick.

What installation plan would give me the desired result (a nice, clean, full of XP and all installation updates recommended) more effective in terms of installation time and using the hard drive?

After installation, remove the files?  It seems to me (and perhaps I got wrong this impression) that the Service Pack and the individual updates of XP I have installed in the past have left a huge amount of files on my hard drive, the files after successful installation, I might be able to remove without adverse consequences.  My feeling is that Microsoft (and many other reputable software providers) are happy to add you to their software, but they clean up after themselves.

If you hired a Carpenter to build new cabinets in kitchen at home, he would not let the old cabinets, scrap lumber, loose nails and screws and tools scattered in your kitchen.  It would be to clean up all this in the context of completing the work.  I don't want to be unfair to Microsoft (in case I'm wrong about what they leave on my machine), but if they leave their installation files or obsolete older files (from earlier and now supplanted the Service Packs) on my machine, they are not complete the project.

Your advice on what to install and how to clean up after installation will be appreciated.  Thank you.

You must download and install Windows XP Service Pack 3.  Afterwards, visit Windows Update and download available later updates. Carey Frisch

  • Help Installation - EBS 12

    Hi all
    I intend to install EBS 12 on my desk, here are the specs;
    OS: Windows XP
    RAM: 4 GB
    HARD DRIVE: GB 145 *.
    Env: VMWare 6

Installation planning: EBS 12 with Vision DB and DB PROD.

I went through most of the installation and the discussions of the forum documents and also collected all the necessary software. Now the problem is with 145 GB of disk space will I be able to install Vision and Prod DB (I extracted in a separate HD software). But most of the forums specify 153 GB for installation, I will be able to customize the EBS (uncheck) product installation.

    Please adivse.

  • Members of the family in different countries.

All of my family members are in different countries, my account is in the US store, my wife uses China, my sister's account UK and my parents are from Taiwan. I was an installation plan of a family sharing for my family through my credit as a gift for them.

However, after sending the invitation family hand to them, they said that forcing system to change their country apple ID, which will be the effect on their container and apps.

My parents don't know even how to change country. Why a family shares could have an impact on their previous applications and also to climate forcing of store countries?

I just want to buy apps and music apple for them through my APPLE ID, why things could become so difficult?

Apple cannot and should not forcing Member of my family to use the same account of country.

It is family sharing, so no sharing society or school sharing. Members of the family of blood relations are not relations of countries or relationships of the location.

Please tell me how to use my credits and APPLE CORRECT installation ID family shares without changing APPLE ID countries worldwide.

    Thank you.

While I can't find anything that says explicitly as much, I think that Yes, all members of the 'family' should indeed be in the same country and using the same iTunes country and stores the App. However, you should contact support for more information: https://getsupport.apple.com/

  • With 2 monkeys roaming network connected to the internet

    Hello

My apologies if this has been discussed (I did some search but did not find anything useful). I have the question realted following a change in my network topology:

    current installation:

-Cable modem is connected to the WAN port on my Time Capsule (3 TB Tower). Transport CANADA acts as DHCP unit (modem is silent, that is without router)

-Port LAN of the TC is connected to the WAN of the MONKEY #1 via CAT6 Ethernet port.

-MONKEY port LAN #1 is connected to the WAN of the MONKEY #2 port

-Port LAN EPA # 2 is connected to the WAN of the MONKEY #3 port

-all the monkeys (the latest models of Tower) Act in Bridge mode, but create a WLAN.

I like that, a roaming welll workign network throughout the House.

    New installation / planned:

-J' changed from cable to fiber to the home. So now I have a new box of fiber that offer Internet via 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports.

-The new fiber box is physically located between the TC and the #1 MONKEY.

-without having to pull a new cable in the box of fiber for the TC (for feed on the Internet in the beginning of the string), I was thinking about this:

-1 Ethernet cable from fiberbox to the TC and feed the Internet through another Ethernet into the WAN port on the #1 MONKEY in the remaining string.

-Switch the TC using the Bridge so that the fiber box making the DHCP

However, now the TC is is more directly connected to the chain of the EPA.

    QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE:

-I'll always be able to have a mobile network, or I will with 2 networks, i.e. 1 created by TC and 1 piloted by monkeys?

-all Clients on the network will see always shared devices (printer, for example) on the network?

Thank you very much for your expert advice on this.

    Rgds,

    Sascha

-run 1 Ethernet cable from fiberbox to CT...

-Switch the TC using the Bridge so that the fiber box making the DHCP

It should work.  (See Note below)

feed the Internet through another Ethernet into the WAN port on the #1 MONKEY in the remaining string.

It should work. (See Note below)

However, now the TC is is more directly connected to the chain of the EPA.

Since the TC is connected to Ether even switch on the product of the fiber to which EPA #1 is also connected... TC and AE #1 are, indeed, also linked together.

I'll always be able to have a roaming network

    Yes

-all Clients on the network will see always shared devices (printer, for example) on the network?

Yes, assuming the fiber box works properly.

Important note... Your plan to have the TC and the MONKEY in Bridge Mode expected to work... BUT... Apple has another idea on how a mobile network should be configured. See the information on a roaming network in this Apple support document:

Wi - Fi base stations: extend the reach of your network wireless by adding additional base stations Wi - Fi - Apple Suppo...

More precisely... Apple will tell you to connect an Ethernet cable from the product of the fiber to the WAN on the TC port and set the TC for managing DHCP and NAT... just as it does now.  Then... all the rest would be put in place just as you have it now... with a connection Ethernet between a LAN port on the TC to the WAN on EPA #1, LAN on EPA to WAN on EPA #2 #1, etc..

If you follow the advice of Apple... you'll get an error Double NAT on your network... Apple who will tell you to ignore. How well your network will work with a Double NAT problem is open to question.

I don't recommend to follow advice Apple... just pointing out that Apple has different ideas and interesting on how to do things, which sometimes goes against the traditional rules of network management.

Does not my modem (Lucent/Agere?) - (downloaded from the Toshiba site) drivers are installed without problem (no warning in Device Manager), but the modem can not open the (virtual) serial port.
I tried all the possible drivers and installation plans.
I installed successfully Nokia mobile (via IR) as a modem and it works without problems. But the internal modem is not able to open the serial port when running test.

How to solve the problem, do you have any suggestions?

Can someone tell me which driver is appropriate (because I still think I need to find the right driver).

Finally, I do not have the original CD from Toshiba to get the driver... If anyone has the same model and you can send the driver by e-mail, I will be very grateful! (E-mail: [email protected]).

  • Missing power supply Aspire S3-391

    Hello

    I just got my S3 of Aspire new-391 (NC-S3-391-53314G12ADD).
The Quick Guide indicates that I must first read the installation Poster.
The power supply is missing from the box!

Does anyone know where and how to find the power supply?
I'd rather make a configuration before the first use of my laptop.

The box also says to check the content after the seal is broken.

I guess that the checklist is on the same installation plan...

Thank you for your very useful comments!

    Best wishes from the Netherlands

My only advice would be to contact your local support center to see if they have a Poster of installation available for the system.

  • XPS 8500 - replacement HDD and SSD

I'm looking to upgrade of storage on my my Dell XPS 8500... My question here is twofold:

    1. I want to replace my current 2 TB HDD (disk storage) with a 4 TB or 5 TB of HARD drive. I will be able to use and see the full 4-5 to? Or is this a case where I will not be able to use the entire disk or will need to score? Y at - it an update of the BIOS that will allow me full access to training?
    2. I am also looking to replace my mSATA 256GB SSD (boot drive) with a 500 GB mSATA SSD... will it be any problem read this disk after installation (plan to do a clean install of Windows and reload my programs)?

Thanks for your help. Hoping to update soon, but did not buy until I knew what I was getting myself into.

Its a fairly recent machine with a UEFI BIOS, so it should be good... If you have already upgraded to Windows 10 then your system is already a unit of 10 windows and you should be able to clean the Windows 10 installation on the new SSD. If you haven't you should upgrade now as free upgrade expires tomorrow. #

You must use the SATA AHCI operation. I assume you have your system already set up this way as you already have a 256 GB mSATA.

  • Scaling of the Dimensions for devices using different devices of BB.

    Hi all

I just wanted to know if there was another way outside the scale using the dimensions of the basic screen, resize the buttons in an application, so that it remains in proportion to the screen no matter what dimensions... That is, no matter what the model used 9850 or 9930 or another using OS 7.0

I tried to use certain factors that are common to both the dimensions of 640 x 480 and 800 x 480 screen. But I don't think it's a fairly generalized approach.

    Any ideas?

I don't know that you have understood what I was saying.

I think it is important to scale things so that

    (1) they are legible on the screen

    (2) the user can interact with them.

So I ignore the number of pixels on the screen in the installation plan things.  Instead the code I gave you is to calculate the number of pixels used in 1 cm on the screen.  If you can scale using them to make sure that things are quite large.  So whatever the screen, I can take and resize it to a specific size on the screen - size visible, not number of pixels.

Exactly the same thing happens to fonts.  If you look on the BlackBerry, you can change the font.  But the sizes that you specify are points, they are full-scale to the screen.  So, if you select BlackBerry Alpha without, 8 on a 9900, the and then ask if how high it is

    (font.getHeight (l)

It returns a result in pixels.  If you do the same thing, using the same font, the torch, you'll find that the number of pixels used on the torch is much smaller.  The police are the same physical size on the screen, but it uses more pixels on the 9900 because the actual resolution of this screen is higher.

There is a confusion here.  Most people, I think not correctly, use the term screen resolution to designate the number of pixels on the screen.  For me, it's just the size of the screen, the resolution is the pixels per inch.  Pixels per inch is what the code I gave actually calculates (I use centimeters because I'm not in the United States, and cm is more commonly used than the thumb here).

Anyway, I don't think you understood what I was saying before, and you thought I was doing just the same thing as you.  I don't think I was.  Please re-read and see if you understand better now.

  • MeetingPlace Express - help please?

    Hi all

I'm a MPE installation planning and research to import users via a CSV file.

    Unfortunately, according to

(http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/ps6533/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00805edd00.html#wp1069753) it seems that you need software installed in order to know which column headers are required.

Whoever MPE would be so kind as to either make an export and send me the CSV file (without course modules) or let me know which fields must be in it?

    Thank you very much

    Stuart

    Hi Stuart-

I have attached the info export file for the profile header and the file group. Just rename the .txt .csv. Here are the procedures in case you don't have them - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/ps6533/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00805edd00.html

Just curious. We don't create users in MeetingPlace Express, rather we use CallManager CCMUserids via LDAP configuration in MeetingPlace Express. When the user connects to MeetingPlace Express for the first time, the profile is created automatically. Here is the link - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/ps6533/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a0080579c97.html

Refer to the section "requirements for user authentication to an external Directory." It's so much easier :-)

If you select not configured, the status of automatic updates is not specified at the group policy level. The status is "enabled" or "disabled". However, an administrator can still configure automatic updates by using Control Panel. Control Panel includes the same settings that are available in group policy.

In order to install Windows 7?

If you want to make it work completely (after initial installation) and as well as possible (the most recent version of the hardware drivers) - that depends on the number of devices you have.

If you mean for a minimum feature - chances are none - he will probably get the initial installation without any additional driver.  There may be several devices that don't work and more work "at least" as they can use generic drivers.
