Installation problem: other updates and security for Windows Vista (KB981852)
In my history of update, this update shows as installation again and again "with success" since August, but he is still listed as an update to install. This also applies to Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (kb948465), who has reportedly updated several times and still is listed as an update.
Some info: I'm currently using Norton 360 - like Firewall and antivirus. I also run Spyware Doc. I was attacked last year, computer failed and I had to wipe my computer. (Assistance with this manufacturer.) I'm not sure it solved the problem. Since then, I have had problems with the computer running the browser to leave/run slowly, slowly, the problems to open programs. This may be due to the loop of 'Windows update '?
Thanks for any help.

Have you tried the standalone version of the software update and run the tool. Now it's time to check if something is the cause of the problem for example security applications or other programs.

No internet connection after installing the update of security for Windows Vista
Security updates for Windows Vista released October 13, 2009 and November 10, 2009 still an Internet connection limited Connectivity/No. Did not help uninstall updates. To do the system restore to solve the problem. Why is this?
drusecord,
First thing is to update your network drivers for your system. Then see if after the update of safety, you have a problem. If you do, I would do the following:Then if there are updates that you already have, but are always available to consult this information:

Cannot complete the update of security for Windows Vista (KB2961072)
I have windows vista and cannot complete the update security update for Windows Vista (KB2961072) KB2961072. I also ran system update readiness tool. No luck. Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?
I had a very very long list of updates from several years ago, now I see only about 60. OS says I have SP2 yet, but it does not look like it. What happened to the hundreds of updates? I have updates of the .net Framework and part of last week.

Problem with update of security for Windows XP (KB973768)
My system is Windows XP Media Center Edition version 2002 with SP3 and I've had problems with KB973768 for awhile now and I've done everything. I used the "MS Fix it" software and it wasn't able to do anything. I tried to install it manually and I get this message whenever I try "Setup has encountered an error: Setup cannot continue because one or more prerequisites necessary for the installation of KB973768 failed.» For more details, check the c:\windows\KB973768.log log file'
Reading the newspaper, it seems that it has something to do with Media Center, whom I have problems with ehshell.exe, in addition to this, but do not know whether or not it relates. Anyway here is the link to the post here I asked who submit click here
I'll be very grateful if this problems can be solved.
The newspaper reads:

I'm not sure how, but I think it had something to do with a question I had with ehshell.exe (click here for more on this topic). KB973768 has something to do with Media Center, and given that I had problems with it, it did not cross the installation of this update. Once the ehshell.exe issue has been resolved, I was able to install this update.

Update cumulative security for Windows Vista for Internet Explorer 8 (KB982381)
Recently I got a virus and believe that some of my system files are corrupt and preventing this security update. Technical Assistant at Microsoft suggested I reinstalled Vista from DVD that I have that Vista to preinstalled with my laptop. All that I can do a reset?

It was a fake antivirus,
What was his name?
Removed to Malwarebytes scan, but I did a check of my hard disk without error.
So why do you want to reinstall Windows?
Yes, I have the hidden partition on my laptop, it is a mark of Acer.
He will restore my registration?
When you perform a clean reinstall, it allows to rebuild the registry of
zero. But it is not delivered what was there. If I do not bother I always new updates of security,
Sure.
It's for Internet explorer 8 and I prefer this browser to others.
Ok.
And I will have to install all the updates again if I reinstall the system.
Yes. You need to reinstall everything- all the updates, all the
programs installed, all your data files (that you must first
back up and save on an external support).Reinstalling Windows is a lot of work, as I said before and in my
view should never be done except when absolutely necessary. Here's an excerpt from my standard post on this topic:
You must restore all backups of your data, you must reinstall all
your programs, you must reinstall all Windows and application
updates, you must locate and install all the drivers needed to
your system, you must recustomize Windows and all your applications to work
the way you are comfortable with.In addition to all these things being long and painful, you can
have trouble with some of them: you will find all your CDs application?
You will find all the necessary installation codes? Do you have any data
backups to restore? Do you remember yet all customizations and
tweaks can be installed to make everything work the way that you
as?So, again, sometimes must do. But if you do not have
to, I highly recommend that you do not have.Ken Blake

Update security for Windows Vista (KB2305420)
After installing the update of security for Windows Vista (KB2305420), planner of tasks no longer works. I first noticed that my scheduled backups stop working and I could program is newer. After a lot of troubleshooting (including Windows restore via the system restore), I saw others had similar problems and goes back to this security update.
I removed the patch and everything works now.
Microsoft is aware of this problem?

Blue Screen installation updates (KB2419640) & (KB2478935) for Windows Vista
I get the blue screen when I install the above, and this update was 12/01/2011 and continues to reappear after I restore the system to January 9. So I turned off auto updates but isn't this bad since I DON'T want to prevent remote control? What can I do to fix these two updates. No blue screen before these updates, but as soon as I say yes to reboot on blue screen. What is a L1T (level a techie) to do. I need this computer until I get a job!
Thanks to the intervention of Halima S... I'm ready to tackle this problem without restoring the system. My only concern is that this command deletes previous restore dates and that the option is permanently deleted. However, first I have to print the steps to follow for a clean boot and re-read. I will work from there... Still down thanks!
Hi Apple2DellExperience,
1. are you able to install some other updates on the computer?
2. what was the message on blue screen?
3. do you have security software installed on the computer?
It is not recommended to disable the automatic update.
These updates will be revived again after the system restore.
I suggest that you manually download and install the update, check if it works.
Also, make sure you disable all the third-party program installed on the computer during the update installation process.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.
