installation scheme of oracle XE

Hi all

I am newbie to ADF.i want to install oracle xe schema, so that I can use the HR schema. I downloaded from site.but oracle can't understand how I'm running the scripts.

is there any diagram of xe blog or editing tutorial.

Hello

First of all:
-You need to download http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/express-edition/downloads/index.html OracleXE
Second:
-You need to install the downloaded file

The HR schema is available by default in this facility, you can use it after installation.

Reference: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/install.112/e18802/toc.htm

  • Installation and migration Oracle 10 g x 86 to x 64 under SUSE 11 x 64

    Hi all

I'm trying to accomplish a proof-of-concept for the migration of legacy x 86 environment running Oracle 10 g in x 64 environment, then upgrade the instance of Oracle 11 g. The first step in doing this is installation of Oracle 10 g in the target environment, which is SLES 11 SP2.

I went though the standard installation procedure; from what I can discern, I installed all dependent packages, including orarun to prepare the environment. I have a source installation package after some minor headaches (unfortunate that Oracle offers them more, because I'm sure there are others out there pertaining to similar projects) and began the process of installation as the oracle user.

To install, I chose to keep things as simple as possible and went with all the default Oracle settings, although I chose to not create a starter database. The only difference is that I have in the House/storage of database mapped via iSCSI to/opt/oracle/product /. After editing, I was sure to change the property of oracle: oinstall.

The first phase of the installation runs without problem. I made the necessary changes to the system so that Setup happily buzzes through the prerequisites and ends the first phase of the installation. However, during the phase of liaison, I meet an error:

    «Error in invoking target 'client_sharedlib' of makefile ' / opt/oracle/product/10gR2/db/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk'.» See < journal > for more details".

In this paper, I am directed to examine the Journal brand, as in

"INFO: the output of this operation is also available to: ' / opt/oracle/product/10gR2/db/install/make.log'.

Very well. So, here is the relevant excerpt from that:

Additional information, as I thought the ORACLE_HOME in the output was weird (concatenated?):

    echo $ORACLE_HOME

    / opt/oracle/product/10 g 2/DB

This who might I be missing here? Any help is greatly appreciated, let me know if there is anything I can provide additional details.

    See you soon,.

Another thing, you might check are property of oracle on all directories in/opt/oracle/product/10 g 2/db and the correct permissions. Also, what is your output of the command 'mount '?

  • Rename a schema in Oracle 11.2.0.3 - possible?

    Hello

We have a schema in the database called REF.

I connect using Ref as confuses matters - Ref being keyword (Ref cusror) etc.

Would rename it without goin gdown road to create a new schema, expdp old scheme in the new schema, drop schema ref.

Is it possible to rename a schema in Oracle 11.2.0.3

    Thank you very much

No no no! Please don't believe that this is a solution. It comes in an absolutely safe way to plant your db. Please follow the procedure you initially mentioned in your question export/import. It is the only way to correct. The proposed method of updating data dictionary is absolutely incorrect.

  • How to join two tables of different schemas of Oracle by using a subquery

I'm trying to join two different schemas of Oracle tables using a subquery. I can extract data from each of the tables without problem. However, when I combine select statements it by using a subquery I get Oracle error *'ORA-00936: lack of expression ' *. Given that each SELECT statement runs on its own without error I don't understand what's missing. I'm trying to get the result set is matching the LINE_ID of PDTABLE_12_1 in the schema with the table PDTABLE_201 MAT_DESCRIPTION DD_12809 in the RA_12809 schema.

    The query is as follows:

    SQL = "SELECT [DD_12809]. [PDTABLE_12_1]. LINE_ID OF [DD_12809]. [PDTABLE_12_1] JOIN "_".
    + "(SELECT [RA_12809]. [PDTABLE_201]. MAT_DESCRIPTION "_".
    "FROM [RA_12809]. [PDTABLE_201]) AS FAB "_".
    + 'ON [DD_12809]. [PDTABLE_12_1]. PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB. PIPING_MATER_CLASS ".

The format of the request is copied from a manual of programming SQL.

I also tried running the query uses a right JOIN on the two tables, but got the same results. Any ideas would be useful. Thank you!

    Published by: user11338343 on October 19, 2009 06:55

The format for the join of two tables in Oracle feels like any other database:

    SELECT a.col1, a.col2, ..., b.col1, b.col2, ...
    FROM schema1.table1 a,
           JOIN schema2.table2 b ON a.col = b.col and ...
    WHERE a.other_col = 'FRED'
    AND    ....;

Do not place bracketed identifiers in Oracle. The account that connects to the database must have select privileges on the two tables.

  • Installation of the Oracle Suite - Basic doubts

    Hi all

Some fundamental doubts about the installation of the EBS.

    Clarify pls.

    1. Why do we need to install a Unix - Cygwin or MKS Toolkit tools kit before installation of the EBS.

    2. Why do you have VC ++ 8.0 installed prior to installation of the EBS.

For the reissue of the exactable application/database Oracle files links. These tools (cc, ld, ar... etc) are already installed under Linux/Unix, but not on Windows, that's why you need to install the software above.

    3. which we need to install the loopback adapter in Windows2003. The steps presented in the thread link: Installation of Oracle E-Business Suite R12 on Windows 2003 does not call for installing loopback adapter,.

If your host is already connected to the network and an IP address, then card loopback is not necessary. Otherwise, you will need to set up the loopback adapter to have an IP address (for example, if you want to install Oracle apps on your computer/laptop at home that is not connected to a network).

  • Installer/Packager of Oracle instance

Hello! I need to create an installer that would create an Oracle instance on the Oracle of the client server. For SQL Server I can use SQL package manager (http://www.red-gate.com/products/sql-development/sql-packager/)

who can create an executable that I can integrate a .msi file.

Is there something available for Oracle?

As background, several times a year the company that I work for CD ships with the latest data. Db schemas change frequently, so we rather not run sql dba cause data population scripts cannot run properly. They tend to perform the data script change scripts before schema. My company gave up after spending more than $50 K on the creation of some of the best material I've seen. Instead, we will create an installer that would take the name of zone Oracle and execute commands of Oracle restore to restore an entire database from a dump.

The packer of Red Gate SQL product works rather well for SQL Server.

What are my options for Oracle?

    Many thanks in advance,

  • Installation Guide of Oracle database for a development environment

    Hello

I work with Oracle JDeveloper, webcenter application development. For some applications I need also a database with the schema webcenter, so I installed oracle 11g (standard edition I believe), using in the documentation installation guides. However, it takes many victims my system resources, making it much to my system slow. I'm looking for a guide on how to install a db oracle for purposes of development, using the least resources. Anyone know if such a guide exists?

    I'm using CentOS linux.

    Thank you

I recommend that you give a test Oracle 10 g XE XE installation is very easy (you get and a database at the same time): http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/appdev.102/b25320/getstart.htm#BEHFFBHB
and does not require a lot of resources.

You should be able to install Oracle XE on centOS because Oracle XE can be installed on Red Hat:

I deleted all the files and restarted the install several times and it does not reach this point every time. I checked that it is Oracle java OpenJDK not on the trademark system and am running out of ideas.  I have everything will remove the scene rebuilding after that re upload all files, but in the meantime I'm looking for advice. Thank you.

Found a workaround.  The problem is that, before the 7695070 patch is applied, the installation program backup directory/apps/fs2/FMW_Home/webtier/jdk in /apps/fs2/FMW_Home/webtier/jdk_backup_existing_version, but then it clears. / jdk - the patch fails because it can't find it.  I had to rename the directory of the jdk for jdk2, and as soon as it gets deleted quickly and rename jdk2 jdk.  Then he applies the patches without problem.  A symbolic link would do the same thing.

    Hi Lucie,.

The names of tables in this location must begin with IGI_CIS. I tried to run the following sql code:

Select the table table_name from dba_tables

And I got the following list:

    TABLE-NAME

    ------------------------------

    IGI_CIS_MTH_RET_PAY_GT

The ORACLE_HOME environment variable is not set, and I couldn't guess.

It must be set to contain the path to an installation of Oracle Directory

  • Installation BI applications Oracle 11g sur-erreur AIX 7 Configuration to the configuration of the ODI

    All,

I installed oracle bi application for 11.1.1.7.1 AIX 7.1 server. My process of BI applications configuration is to launch a mistake in the part configuration ODI.  Detailed error is pasted below. I perform software only installation as with AIX, you must select Install only software for OBIEE and OLIVIER and configure BIAPPS later.

I saw two others archived son who discusses this error, and it seems that it is events expected for deployments of AIX error. And both of them say that it is ok to continue the Setup process and make this ODI configuration for later.

However, the instructions on how to do this from one of the thread is fragmentary or incomplete. If you guys have run into that, can you please guide on how you have been able to solve this problem? The location for 2 OTN discussion is stuck here as well.

So, that's what we were doing to solve this problem:

1 let the Configuration process continue with the error. All other tasks should complete successfully.

    2. install the ODI studio on a client computer, WIndows/Linux.

    3. manually the program installation/editing file server and data server technology tab.

  • Migrate a schema from oracle 8i to 11g

    Hello

I am struggling to find all the obligation to upgrade a pattern running on oracle 8i db installed on a sparc Server non-global solaris 8 box to an oracle 11 g on solaris 10 x 86 non-global zone.

There are changes in the architecture.

    I know, it's:

export using utiliy exp of oracle 8i

import in oracle 11g utility exp 11 g if it is still available.

I only need to migrate two patterns respectively 1 GB and 2 GB

Here are the patterns and sizes:

    Total

    Schema schema name size (MB)

    ------------- ----------

    CLAIMS 2851.07031

    ARCCLAIMS 1290.9375

Can you someone tell me what is the best way to do... That's what I think I should do.

I need to adjust the NLS_Lang to the source db character set both at the source and target machine. the two server do not have the same character set. Oracle 8i has WE8ISO8859P1 and oracle 11g a WE8MSWIN1252

Perform then run the catsql.exp script

    perform the exp

    exp sys / * owner = CLAIMS leader = CLAIMS.dmp

for PMI do I have to create the user, or it will be automatically created should manually create the user to amd timespaces?

What is the command to be used to import?

    Thank you.

    Mario

    Hello

Old style exp/imp does not users/tablespace create unless you do a full complete exp/imp - which you don't want to.

You must pre-create the tablespaces/profiles/users relevant to your 2 users prior to importation.

    Dear,.

  • Installation documentation and Oracle FLEXCUBE?

    Hi all

I am looking for documentation and the software requirements to install Oracle Flexcube. The only documentation I can find so far is the Oracle brochure:

    http://www.Oracle.com/us/industries/financial-services/046907.html

I understand that Flexcube is a product developed by the team of Bangalore in India years ago and then bought by Oracle. However, I can't find the documentation installation and configuration for Oracle Flexcube and also, I can't find where to download the Oracle Flexcube software either.

Details are available in the same link- http://www.oracle.com/us/industries/financial-services/046907.html
