Installation to upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate Service Desk on a pc Home Premium

The bad news is, my sweet 3 year old 32-bit HP laptop (under home Premium), is dead, disastrously, this morning, after which a critical backup has not... my head turns... The GOOD news is that now I have the ability to clean install my new "Windows Vista Ultimate SERVICE DESK Upgrade"... Unfortunately... I can't understand... It won't let me "ipgrade" even on a restored factory pc... I counted "clean install", but am completely confused by the options window (& or not I'm sure using this software...) I checked before I bought & used to say that it works very well on this laptop...) ... In any case, I get the window & the following choices: * "Disk 0 Partition #1 (C) - Total size 221,1 GB, free Go 186,3 > & > * '0 Partition 2 HP Recovery Disk' - Total Size 11.8 GB, free space 1.4 GB / / / I do not understand the partitions or anything on this operation & need instructions...» I KNOW that this software is SUPPOSED to work properly... & of course, I don't want to go without it... NEXT disaster, I need the ULTIMATE cigarette back... / / / is there someone who understood? I can't draw conclusions, or analyze what all the... Thanks in advance for any help...

    Hello:

As the title says, I have recently updated my new hard drive, I got from Dell's Windows Vista Ultimate Edition of Windows 7 Professional. I don't have the product key for the Express upgrade, so I'm unable to activate my copy. The last time this was back in 2009 when I bought the Express upgrade, so I don't know what I did to fix this problem.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

  • Cannot upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate Edition after the HD upgrade

I have an ASUS computer which is about five years old and works fine. It runs only Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP1.
The HD has been giving signs which is failing. I bought a new HD and copied the old HD to the biggest news. Everything seems to work fine until I tried to run Windows Update. It does not allow me to update and gives the 8024A 000 error code every time I try to run it. I called ASUS for help and they said
    to contact me Microsoft.

    Thank you

I found the solution to this problem. I went to another Windows help forum. It is to reset the Windows Update program. I tried the one here on the Microsoft site, and it did not work. But I tried this one http://wind8apps.com/windows-update-error-code-8024a000/ and the fist solution worked like a charm. He fixed the update and install issues with Powershell 2.0. After that and a certain number of updates, it's updated, Windows Update will update to the latest version. After this release he went and found many updates, I had to install. So be patient, you're in for a little wait.

  • I accidently reinstalled Windows Vista Basic, but is my key for Home Premium. What can I do?

I reinstalled Vista Home Basic, but had originally Vista Edition Home Premium and I have the product key for activation only for premium... Help?

    original title: computer a buggy.

No - it can't happen because the original installation is not enabled, it cannot use Anytime Upgrade to install the correct key - and an OEM key will only accept a custom installation and clean.

    @Adrienne

You need to reinstall using the manufacturer's recovery disks - if you don't have a game, then you can order them from the manufacturer's website.

Note that this will wipe all data current (again) - so back to external media first.

  • Impossible to upgrade to windows vista ultimate from vista home Basic using the upgrade disc

I bought a disc "to upgrade use only" Windows Vista Ultimate at my University and tried to upgrade my current version of Windows (Vista Home Basic).

At the stage where I had to select the 'Upgrade' or 'Custom' installation option, I noticed that the interface was telling me, 'Upgrade Disabled"with a message that has been along the line"this version of windows is already installed and cannot be upgraded."
I know that the upgrade disc was probably intended for the upgrade from an earlier version of Windows like XP, but I assumed that because Microsoft also sells discs "Anytime Upgrade" to do exactly what I'm trying to accomplish this I would have had no problem.
For any help or suggestion that contact would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

    It's all about Service Pack.
We don't know what you have.

If Service Packs came pre-installed on the operating system, there is no way to uninstall them.
You will need to swap the disk to upgrade to a later version that includes the missing Service Pack.

In this case, your upgrade disk has NO Service Pack installed with it.

Take it back to the University, if you cannot uninstall SP1 operating system.

  • Upgrade in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.

I am considering the upgrade from Home Premium to Ultimate. I already bought the software Windows Vista Ultimate Edition at a great price from Circuit City when they were going out of business. I am currently using Windows Vista Home Premium. I need to install a program called SolidWorks 2008 CAD - 2009 in College and this program is already bought and in my possession. Family Premium is not compatible with this program. I really don't want to go because I believe that it will lose the ultimate software, but I think, that I have no other choice in order to use my copy of SolidWorks 2008 - 2009. So I have a few questions related to it. Is there a way to get around this, and if not, is there something I need to do or uninstall until I try to install this upgrade? I can't afford to have any problems during this update because I need every day my computer for school. Is a one time installation were I will not be able to use this ultimate software on another computer ever? Thanks for your help.

  • You want to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 Professional. I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional?

I want to install Windows 7 Professional.  I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional? Or is this correct?

You can still install Windows 7 Pro, but it requires a custom installation. This will remove all your programs (you will need to reinstall them), but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so.

If you want to make a place in the upgrade you will need Home Premium or Ultimate.

What Upgrade Options are available for Windows 7?
If you are running Windows Vista , in some cases you can proceed directly to Windows 7, and in other cases, you must perform a custom installation. The following table shows what editions of Windows Vista can be upgraded to Windows 7.

    Windows Vista Home Basic

Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate

    Windows Vista Business

Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate

There are 2 os on my pc but I want to do a fresh format hard disk and have vista on my pc. Is it possible to make this one and another thing my windows has already been activated. I don't want any trouble with the id of the product after the new installation. And do you need the internet during installation, or you can do all updates after. I don't have that high O2 mobile broadband wireless so it won't work because you have to install the software for the dongle on intall. Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

A clean install with an upgrade/license disc cannot legally.

I don't know why you have 2 Systerm of operation on your computer, if you have used the process to upgrade properly.
    You must have one.

You can do the updates after.

You can, or perhaps no activation problem after reinstalling.

    If you do:

Try this and take the Option phone hang for a real person:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Vista/quick-start/activation-FAQ.aspx

FAQ of activation to the. link above

    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

  • XP Mode/VPC does not start on Windows 7 Ultimate upgraded from Vista Ultimate box

    1 Dell Studio 1735

2 initially loaded with 32 bit Vista Ultimate. Including one instance of VPC 2007 carrying a XP Pro Virtual Machine

3 before moving on to 32-bit Windows 7 compatibility check was done and recommended applications, including VPC 2007, have been uninstalled.

4 Windows 7 upgrade was performed without incident or error and to end all applications and data were good.

5 installed, strictly in accordance with the files of the web videos etc., XPMode, VPC and WindowsXPMode.  Once again without incident or error.

6 in the execution either XPMode or VPC ago approximately 45 seconds of the busy HARD disk activity and then nothing.

7 I have a backup image of the original disc loaded with Vista as it was before step 1, above, I have tried several variations on a theme whose hardware virtualization on and off the power, order of the file install etc. but nothing helps

8 to prove the process and installation files, I did a clean load of Windows 7 then XPMode etc. on some old iron P4 and it worked a treat.  I'm actually surprised by not only it installed at all, but by the way it currently works on an area that was originally intended to spend the rest of his eternal life as a dump.

My conclusion is that VPC 2007 uninstall is not clean; He leaves legacy shrapnel (register?) in the system which is farce VPC.  Note that the result is consistent on several uninstalls, step 7, above.

Question; as the XPMode function is essential and will determine if a quantity of boxes are to move from Vista to Windows 7 where only once from here?

Have you downloaded the latest version of Windows Virtual PC? Microsoft has recently updated it removes the requirement of hardware-assisted virtualization: both Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC is available for download on http://www.windows.com/business/downloads.
