Installed Vista Business... lost everything

I recently bought the laptop HP dv4 - I then installed Windows Vista Business... and now I have nothing other than vista on the laptop... I can't even access internet... or options system restore... I don't think I want vista, I want to just programs with that my laptop came. Is it possible to repair vista? and recover what he had once?

Thank you!

Rule #1... always research before you start to erase the data on the hard drive.  Rule #2... back up your data before installing an operating system.

Contact HP for the recovery CD.  Use them to reset the PC in a State of the plant.

  • Cannot install Vista Business on Portege M400 - IDE issues

Hi guys... I am looking for your help.

I downloaded all the new Vista drivers avaiable from Toshiba in support of the new installation of Vista business on my old Portege M400, that came preloaded with a version of XP Tablet and kept their loan on a CD.

I also upgraded the version of the ACPI BIOS to the latest available 3.80.

I insert the first CD of Vista professional and do a boot. (I also have a n upgrade Vista Business CD but I want to do a clean install).
I go past the first steps and choose Install.
I am faced with an error message "no disk has been found. "Click on load a driver to provide a device for installing mass storage.

Looks like Vista is not able to see the IDE drive to the edge and it's a driver problem.

I touched the "Rescan" button available on the windows installation and another message appears: "no device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct driver, and then click OK. »

Currently loaded on the XP: currently loaded poster IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers like Device Manager: "Intel (R) 82801 G (ICH7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage Controllers and primary IDE channel."

Hard drives shown are: Toshiba RAID SCSI Disk Device LD0

Pls tell, what new drivers since available downloads of drivers Vista for my model 400 ML PPM40E, should I choose here for my Vista installation recognizes the disk available?

    Hello

It is very easy to solve this problem.
If you would look on the page of the European driver Toshiba (Portege M400 section), then you will notice that a RAID driver is available for this model of laptop.

Impossible to install Vista because it cannot find the HARD drive due to lack of RAID driver!

You must install the RAID driver first and then you can proceed with the installation of Vista.
As far as I know the Vista installation accepting the USB flash key you can use this key to include the RAID driver.

Hope I could give some useful advice.

    Cheers mate

  • Re-install Vista Business

I host communication errors and the connection status: unknown and unable to interview administrator most likely due to the execution of an anti spam program (Spyware Doctor) who did not have a system recovery point.  Otherwise, I did it for myself.  I am running Vista Business SP2.  I can reinstall it from my CD without losing my data or settings and if so, how?

The name of this site has nothing to do with a version of Vista 64-bit.

It's just the name of the Web site

And read this; It's the Standard way, that it's done.

You will need to know whether or not SP1 preinstalled.

Looking for a difference in numbers/Service Pack levels.

If Service Packs came pre-installed on the operating system, there is no way to uninstall them.
You will need to borrow a disk for a later version that includes the missing Service Pack.

On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.

Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have install.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537

"How to uninstall Windows Vista service packs"

If the installed OS has the disk with Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 > uninstall SP2 installed operating system > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.

And run the upgrade of a Vista operating system.

    See you soon.

I need to install Vista professional.
    How can I do?
    I have to format it?
So how do I install back all the utilities and drivers which it came with?
I have problems with my laptop if I do this?

    Hello

The Vista installation is not difficult.
He just put the Vista disk in the STRANGE and then start from the disc.
    The installation will start automatically.

But this will format your HARD drive and you will lose your installed Win XP and other files.

    > How can I install back all the utilities and drivers which it came with?
I guess you have a Toshiba Recovery disk.
If you want to retrieve the OS installed by Toshiba, then you need to use the Toshiba Recovery for recovery disk.

PS: what Qosmio F do you have exactly? I ask because 108 F is not known to me

What to say that you can also access the network using Vista.
But please note that the Vista operating system supports additional network access security settings that should be disabled or reset.

How this site published by Microsoft should help you set up the network with Vista settings:

    Here are several tips:
You should try to open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, then click on diagnose and repair.

  • Vista Business activation problems

A year and a half ago, I had my hard drive failed and lost my installation of windows xp.  My computer, which was a computer professional, has a license key for businesses of vista on the back.  I finally got some money together and bought a new hard drive and installed Vista business because it was the key that is listed on the back.  Any help to solve this problem would be great.  I want to continue to use Vista if possible (because I have already installed a bunch of other programs and updates), but it's only a personal computer right now and not a business machine. Do not I have the business version of vista, I just want something that works.  Thank you.

There is no obvious problem in your report.

That being the case, try activating by phone and speak to an operator.

activation by telephone (call of the operator)

    Click the Start button

    in the search box, type

    SLUI 4

    and press the Enter key

Follow the instructions, but when asked what service you need the ansafone phone, don't answer - it should oblige the operator to answer, who can deal with you

  • Cannot find product key Vista Business

Several years ago, I bought and installed Vista Business Upgrade on my HP XP system.  I now need to re - install on this system, but somehow the product key has been lost.  I bought MS Vista Business DVD.  The product key I stuck on the booklet is not for Vista but for OUTLOOK and of course does not work.  Is it possible to get a key for my legal DVD?

    Thank you.

E the key must be in the packaging in which the DVD came - or if you have purchased an OEM copy, you should have stuck the label on the case of the machine on which it was installed.

If you can't find it, but the machine still works the operating system, use Belarc Advisor to retrieve the key.

  • Wireless not working with Vista Business/company, but will be with 7?

I have a HP Pavilion Dv6700 laptop and my product number is FE654UA #ABA

I got the computer and it had Vista, but my school has offered free Windows 7 OS so I downloaded and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on the laptop. However, after discovering that I have to update all my drivers and find the latest versions are only for Vista, I chose to go back to Vista so I downloaded the Windows Vista Business 32-bit with Service Pack 2 my school offered the aftering having no success with the company. I formatted my HDD and installed Vista Business.

Now, the problem is that after I installed Windows Vista Business my wireless switch turn blue even in position one. With this, I can't find any of my home wireless network signal and are the only options allotted to me for internet via dial-up or broadband. Wireless Assistant is 'Disabled' and unable to be activated.

I also noticed that there is no network adapters in the Device Manager list.

While running Vista business I went to the HP site and downloaded all the drivers of network I could and put them on a disc, so I could their spear on the laptop, but this did nothing no more.

Despite this dilemma with Vista, everything works, how it should after reinstallation of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, but I'm unable to update my drivers in this State.

    Hello:

Now that you can connect to the internet, run the Windows Update program and let it download and install Windows 7 drivers that it finds.

For everything else, you need to use the Vista drivers.

Your laptop is not supported by HP for Windows 7, this is why there is no W7 drivers on the support page.

I have a dv6810us with W7 Home Premium 64-bit.  It works fine using the combination of Vista and W7 drivers.

Make sure you just as if you have not updated your BIOS to version Windows Vista, you DO NOT Flash the BIOS, now that you have installed Windows 7, or you will be clean your laptop, with no way out.

  • The license sticker is for Vista Business and Vista Basic is preinstalled

I just bought a Satellite Pro L300, which was supposed to have Vista Business installed.

When I turned on the laptop and went through the initial installation of the operating system and configuration, Vista Basic installed, without ever asking me a license key.

The Home license sticker at the bottom of my laptop shows "Windows Vista Business OEMAct".

How to install Vista Business? There is no CD/DVD in the sealed box that the laptop came in so I have no extra programs to install.

I bought this model because supposedly I could downgrade from Vista Business to XP.

    Thank you!

It's really a case of contact Toshiba by phone or email, form (support/Contacts page).

  • Satellite A120: No sound after install Vista

    Hello

I was handed a second laptop to work - so not sure if the sound is already working but...

    (1) I installed Vista Business Edition
    (2) no sound through the speakers or headphones
    (3) no error in the Windows Device Manager.

-Reinstalled the Realtek drivers on the site of pilots tosh
    -
    This is updated from windows
    -
-During playback of an audio file, that the graphic equalizer appears normally - that is bouncing up and down with the beat

    Now of ideas!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey Buddy

I think I know what could be the problem.
The sound should be set as high as possible before the installation of Vista!

In addition, you should check if the sound wasn't mute runig the previous operating system.
This may affect the sound on the new Vista operating system installed!

I searched a bit on sites Web of Toshiba and the Central knowledge and found this useful article about the problems of sound on Vista OS

[Its utility to turn Mute Off | http://support.toshiba.com/support/viewContentDetail?contentId=1671893&pf=true]

I would appreciate any comments from you
