Installed Windows 7 in SATA IDE value controller

This may or may not be a silly question, but I'm extremely curious.

I reinstalled Windows 7 on my HP p6210f, using the recovery disks that I made.  However, I still had the controller SATA IDE, value, because I had a different hard drive in this machine that has Windows XP.  Of course, Windows 7 wouldn't start, and realizing my mistake immediately, I went into the BIOS and changed the AHCI controller.  Windows 7 has started then fine.  Windows 7 seems to work OK, but I want to know whether or not I could have caused a potential problem that may arise later.

If it makes any difference, I noticed that all of the devices listed in the Device Manager have no points mark next to them.

Another quick easy question: a factory restore is possible if there is a different amount of memory in the computer, or a different size than the original hard drive?

Hello:

As I have indicated above, no harm has been done loading W7 in IDE mode. No damage will result, some bad things will happen.

But since you don't mind doing another restore... I would like to change the setting from ACHI and do another cover so the hard drive can enjoy the NCQ.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 on the computer

Hi my name is Mauricio Osorio, recently, I tried to install Windows 7 on my computer, but it does not work, then I tried to re - install my Windows 8.1 license, but my computer has two drives, all first it's a ssd (Solid disc) and the other is sata, the most common of the disc type. My problem is: I don't know how to use this because it is so small (25 GB) ssd drive, but it is really fast, I tried to install Windows on it, but is so small and it does not work. What should I do?

If as you indicate the SSD is small it almost certainly was not used as a disk operating system, but as a buffer high speed for the main SATA drive.

The factory restore should recover the disks in the correct way before you tried to install Windows 7, you have created the.

If you want to set this function yourself then how exactly depends on the chipset. With the driver Intel Smart Response Technology, you will need to install Windows on the SATA drive then in the driver control panel define the SSD as its buffer.

original title: installation of Windows 7

    Hey Joe,

I suggest that you visit the gigabyte website for your region (and/or the site global http://www.gigabyte.com/?f=g ) and check your motherboard for compatibility with Windows 7.

The problem you are experiencing would imply that Windows 7 has no native driver support for your disk controller, so if Gigabyte don't have drivers that you are locked unless you buy a discreet disk controller that is compatible Windows 7.

Please mark this as useful or response if applicable.

On the other hand, you have this posted in a forum of Windows XP when it is really a problem of Windows 7.

  • Windows crashes every 10 minutes for abt 30 sec / 2 min with «the pilot detected an error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0 controller»

History/context: This problem started happening on my Dell Vostro 220, while he was new (May 09), on Windows Vista that it came preloaded with. I figured a SATA controller and a defective Dell replaced both my HD (& SATA cables) and Mobo. But ongoing problem - then Dell suggested to set access drive in AHCI mode in the BIOS. I did and in HD and installed also XP. Problem persisted. XP errors in the journal system came as '\Device\Ide' and '\Device\Hd0' sometimes sometimes. Reference Dell insists that it is a driver problem Windows. Since then, I still formatted hav clean and installed with Windows 7, what I use now. But the problem persisted.

    System:
Dell Vostro 220 with Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.8 Ghz, 4 GB of RAM (3 GB usable), running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. 1 x DVD Writer TSST Corp TS - H653F ATA hard drive WDC WD2500AAJS - 75M0A0 ATA

    Symptoms:
On bad days, it happens every 5-10 minutes; other times 30 min. Locks up system / freezes during 30 sec to 2 min during which I am able to move the mouse cursor, but do not click on anything anyone or do anything else. When Frost "thaws" if I check the Logs of error in the system log I still see the "EventID:11" error "Source: atapi ' 'driver has detected an error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0 controller. Sometimes (not always) I also see a spike in the graph of CPU use if I check right after the "thaw", but I was not able to determine what process as I am looking after the fact. Normally, there are 4 SATA Ports on the motherboard. 0.1 were used for HD, DVD. If I unhook the DVD drive altogether and connect the HD SATA cable to the port marked 2, I get the same errors, but "\Device\Ide\IdePort0" becomes "\Device\Ide\IDePort1".

Other note (s): During the installation of the OS, Dell has a "Intel Matrix Storage" listed as critical on their site, but when I try to install it, it says "no compatible hardware not detected" and install exists.

Also, interestingly, if I take the HD (in blue) to the total of SATA cable and try to connect SATA cable from the DVD recorder to the orange (originally) between individual ports Mobo and HD, I get a mobo error - flashing 3 light and "beep" as soon as I turn on. It disappears if I go back to blue SATA cable from the Hd for HD

    Hello

As you have informed us that you are always faced with the question after installing Windows XP and Windows 7.

I suspect that the problem is somewhere in the material or the SATA ports on the motherboard. I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of your computer for help, because they will be in a better position to help you.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

    Hi aqm0207,

How you try to install Windows XP Home Edition?

You may receive an error message "Stop 0x0000007B" in the following scenarios:

    (a) a device driver that your computer boot controller needs is not configured to start during the startup process.

    (b) a device driver that needs your computer startup controller is damaged.

    (c) It can also occur if the hard drive in the BIOS configuration is bad.

You can check if the SATA hard drive is correctly configured in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) & can also update the BIOS. If you are not comfortable to do, you can contact the manufacturer of your computer for help.

Note: Changing the BIOS / chipset can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/chipset can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

I tried to install windows 7 on my mac desktop and now I have a white screen. any ideas to return me to the world of apple?

How have you tried to install Windows 7?

  • Try to install Windows 7 via USB, El Capitan, Macbook Pro 2011 but get this error "No. BOOTABLE DEVICE - INSERT BOOT DISK AND press ANY KEY ' when bootcamp restart my macbook to begin the installation. Any ideas?

I am trying to install Windows 7 via USB, (El Capitan, Macbook Pro - early 2011), but this mistake "No. BOOTABLE DEVICE - INSERT BOOT DISK AND press ANY KEY ' when bootcamp restart my macbook to begin the installation. Any ideas?

You cannot use a USB on Mac 2011 Installer. Please burn the ISO on a physical DVD Windows (a DVD - R Carbon SL on the rate of burning slower is better) and use it to install Windows. The file Info.plist changes only allowing the creation of USB, but does not fully support a USB Installation.

  • Satellite A300 - need driver SATA to install Windows XP

I changed my OS winXP SP3.

After reading a lot of posts, I finally installed my new operating system but with SATA compatibility mode. I tried to change again in AHCI mode, but every time I tried Windows hangs at loading. I also tried to install Storage Manager after installation of the OS, but it fails. So I decided to change the XP disk, including the SATA driver, but after downloading all the drivers on my computer I can't find the SATA driver.

Can someone tell me where is the .inf file?

    Thank you to

    Hello

Firstly it is not possible to change the compatibility mode to AHCI after installing Windows. You can only do before installing XP, otherwise you get a BSOD.

However, if you have downloaded the Storage Manager you must extract the files from the .exe file. Open a command line and type the following command:
    ' - A - a - PC:------'

After that, you can copy the inf for external floppy drive files or integrate it into the new XP installation disc.

  • I need help, I have tried everything! Network controller after you have installed windows 7 on a windows 8.1 machine!

    Hi all!

I have a Dell Inspiron 3521. It was 8.1 on Windows and I installed Windows 7 Pro OEM 64 bit. I delete the old file of windows. I was able to install all the drivers from Dell Web site, but I can't seem to find a way to get the right driver for the "network controller". I have tried driver identifier and it shows me two missing drivers: 1: BCM43142A0, 2: network controller.

This is the ID of the MDO of material:

    PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & SUBSYS_00161028 & REV_01
    PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & SUBSYS_00161028
    PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & CC_0280

I found a post with someone who has the same keys, but the driver in the link did not help me. Maybe it's the way I installed the drivers? Or how I installed windows 7?

    Help, please!

The last Reference Dell driver for the Dell Wireless 1704 map is 6.30.223.228. You can also try the later card Dell Wireless 1708 6.30.223.245 (both are adapted Broadcom drivers) first directly and then in Device Manager.

  • Install Windows 7 (x 64) on external SATA SSD with SATA - USB

I was trying to install Windows 7 x 64 Professional on an SSD to the computer with a SATA - USB connector. I started the Setup, but it wouldn't let me install because it was connected with a USB key. Is there another way to install it on an external SSD?

Unfortunately, no, Windows 7 must be installed on a device of storage internally. If you have the eSATA port, you can install it on a disk external eSATA.
