Installing 64-bit Win7 on Satellite Pro

Hello

about to try to format my HARD drive, then reinstall windows 7 on my satallite tosh laptop pro.

question - I have no support for windows 7, so got a copy from here:

http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-windows_install/Digital-River/66a8439b-0d16-4b70-92f7-1c8486a46ebf

my OEM product key (extracted from the laptop) with this version of windows?

Toshiba supply OS support?

any advice on how to rebuild my system welcome.

Nick

P.s. I do this last resort I've been struggling with very slow speeds at the start to the top (over an hour) and have tried many things to improve it - think a reconstruction is the best way to go from here. Buy a RAM at the same time more (will try that install before you rebuild this 'plan B')

Product key on the sticker Microsoft belongs to the original recovery image that you have with your laptop and can not be used for the activation of the operating system if you install the version of the own BONE.
> Does Toshiba supply OS support?
With the old models Toshiba has offered in package recovery DVDs. It's not only BONE. It is the stimulus package that contains the OS, drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities. This recovery image was designed for your model only and cannot be used for installing OS on other laptops.

More recent models have recovery image stored on the HARD drive so that each laptop user must create a recovery (DVD or USB) media using pre-installed recovery disc creator tool.

What model of laptop do you have exactly?

My laptop was vista operating system installed, but I change and put Windows XP

    Please help me

    Hello

    LAN installation is very easy.
First of all, you need the correct LAN driver.
In order to download the LAN driver please visit the Toshiba driver page and choose your model of laptop.

Once the LAN driver has been downloaded, you will need to decompress.
Then you will need to access the Device Manager, choose the controller Ethernet (network cards) and must point to the place where the LAN driver was decompressed.

    Then finish the installation procedure.

  • Change Win7 64-bit to 32-bit on the Satellite Pro C660-16N

    Hello.

    >... Satellite Pro C660-16N - Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium pre-installed...

Nobody knows what the best route is change Win7 64 bit for Win7 32 bit. This model has a 32-bit install on HARD drive recovery option?

Or he will have to do a clean install of Win7 32 bit DVD.

    Thank you very much.

I guess that this laptop is available with 64-bit only (specification) and there is only one way to install the version OS 32-bit, you must install it using original Microsoft Win7 32 bit installation disc.
Please note: for the activation of the operating system, you can use the product key from the sticker. You must purchase a new license for your own installation.

By the way: also check if this laptop model is supported for 32-bit version. You can do this on Toshiba support and download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

Thank you very much for taking the time to two read this.

At first, I must say that your laptop is designed for Win7 and maybe you should continue to use Win7. Problem is that laptop with the factory settings is quite slow but it can be changed. What you need is to optimize Win7 preinstalled. Check out this forum and you will find many threads with good description and detailed what we can do about it.

According to specification for laptop, your laptop comes with WIN7 32 BIT PROFESSIONAL & XP DVD.
You have problems when you try to use this DVD WXP that you got with your laptop?

  • Cannot install driver WIFI on my Satellite Pro DR L850-1

    Hi guys,.

I installed windows 7 64 bit on my Toshiba Satellite Pro DR L850-1 by making the new partition which formats the hard drive.

After installation I was expecting windows 7 will find the drivers from internet or if not I'll download them from Toshiba Web site.

I downloaded and installed all the drivers from the LAN and WLAN drivers first.
All the other drivers installed perfectly and their respective hardware works fine, but the WLAN Atheros driver that does not install the Setup program does not start and I tried all means known to me or I can find on the internet to install it.

Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

Generally after a clean OS install, you should start with the chipset driver, display driver, driver sound and so on.
Have you installed driver chipset before you tried to install the WLAN driver?

By the way: you try to install this driver from the Toshiba download page?

  • How to install the recovery image on Satellite Pro A300?

I have a Satellite Pro A300 and I need factory reset. I learned from my teacher of computers there is a unknown virus on this subject. Apparently, it has been downloaded when I downloaded Malware bites. I got the laptop free of Set - BC because I muscle Handi-trophy and get tired of writing.

My teacher told me that I need to Factory Reset, but when I got the laptop, she had everything installed on, (kurzwell, Chrome, etc.) so I don't have the disc to factory reset. In addition, the virus has disabled everything that has anything to do with the internet, (Chrome, for example, Firefox, Outlook, malware bites, etc.).

Y at - it all means I have factory reset the laptop without the need of the disc.
    Any suggestions will help.

  • Re: How to install Windows on the new Satellite Pro C50 8.1?

I just bought a TOSHIBA SATELLITE PRO C50, that came with Windows 7 pre-installed.

When you start the system for the first time, I simply close and put Windows 8.1 media into the optical drive (disc 1 of 4) then entered the Recovery Wizard and may have chosen the wrong option, because I completely erase the hard drive and partitions.

Now that I did it, I can't find how to install the Windows Media Pro 4 DVD provided 8.1. I can't find the correct option to do this. I changed the startup option in the control panel by pressing F2 at startup, so it reads from the DVD player. The DVD starts but then takes me into a recovery area of the system, which is not good as I wiped the system completely.

How can I just now to install the Pro 8.1 provided Windows on the clean system right now?

    Thanks for any advice.

First, I would like to know what model of laptop you have exactly. If possible, please report the entire model number (C50-xxxxx). I just want to check the specification for this model of laptop.

Did you buy this laptop as any new product and model in box?

Anyway, if you have installation discs original recovery for this, you should be able to install it without problems. Start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. This menu wil shown on the screen, insert disc 1 into the optical disk drive, choose the CD/DVD drive from the menu, and then press ENTER.

ODD must start reading Wizard disk / recovery will be shown o the screen. Choose the option to install out-of-box / factory settings and just follow menu on the screen.

  • Question about installing WXP LAN Driver on Satellite Pro A120

I have a Satellite Pro A120 (PSACIE) with Vista installed. I created a dual boot with XP Prof I seem to have all the drivers except the WLAN and LAN drivers. I have downloaded the LAN driver there is no setup.exe file. No problem, (I think, maybe someone out there knows differently?).

I used Device Manager to load the file inf and intel pro/1000 PL network connection selected with the Hardware Installation Wizard. At the end the wizard said there was an error code 10 and that the device probably would not work properly.

Can anyone help? It does not of course! By pure chance that I bought a port replicator, its LAN works with XP but do not work with Vista! (There is a hint here)

Is it possible I can get details on the LAN device such as model, serial number? Any help appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

Are you sure you used a right and support for driver LAN?
Error code 10 is known to me and mostly it appears if the device cannot be started because the driver is not compatible

Ok. To my knowledge, there are two different Satellite Pro A120:
the unit of PSAC0E supports Lan Chip Realtek 8100 CL

and the PSAC1E supports the chip Intel 82573 L (Vidalia)

So, what phone do you use?

  • Not able to install the common module on satellite Pro A120

    Hi guys:
I recently reinstalled xp professional on my satellite pro A120. I could download and install the main drivers of http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com and my phone is functional. However, I did not all sounds and (F6 & F7 and toggle) function keys not working, even after insalling the sound card. I read some of the posts on this forum and found that I needed insall the 'common' module to make them functional. I downloaded the driver from module common too, but when I run the Setup it starts initially, but fails both the configuration is complete.

The same thing happens also with a few other drivers as saver of energy etc... I was not able to run the Setup program for the common module & driver power saver, basically, nothing happens after I have the respective installation.

    Can anyone help please?

    Pravesh

As far as I know on the download page you can find the installation instructions with exact installation document order how to install drivers and tools specific to Toshiba and utilities.
You have installed all the stuff after this installation order?

  • BSOD when installing MS Server 2003 on Satellite Pro U400-153?

    Hello

No idea why I get a blue screen crash when I try to install MS Server 2003 on a Pro u400 153? Load the drivers etc and then is about to launch the installation but fails.

I try to install the 32-bit edition.

    Thank you

    Paul

Maybe your MS Server 2003 disc doesn t contains the necessary SATA drivers.
The SATA drivers are important for detecting HARD drive!

As I m not wrong not the U400 supports an Intel chip and therefore, you need the SATA of Intel matrix Storage Manager driver files!

You will find many threads in this forum regarding this topic so much search for, read and learn

  • Can I install 64-bit OS on Satellite A200?

Can I install an OS 64-bit on Satellite A200 equipped a intel t2350 proccessor?

Of course, you can install the OS on 64-bit Toshiba laptops, but the question is whether you will get well 64-bit compatible drivers, I think if you install the 64-bit OS, you must run the notebook without the drivers and tools Toshiba because the 64-bit drivers are not available on the pages of Toshiba

In this case, you need to find compatible drivers chip manufacturing sites!

  • I have no sound after installing Windows XP Home on Satellite Pro P100

    Hello

I want to use another Windows XP Pro as the recovery CD. I can not install the sound card, when I run the setup.exe driver the latest driver of Toshiba sound, no devices appear on the screen, so I can only click on Cancel.

I updated the bios to 2.40 (although I think it was already updated). I tried to install in the order the install.txt who recommend Toshiba (not sure what is Atheros Client Utility)
I see in the Manager of windows devices, Legacy audio drivers (twice).
Everything looks ok wait that I have no sound and may not have the speaker at the bottom right.
The setting of the sound in the control panel, he wrote "no device" for her.

Please help me and tell me that if I could find what other problems besides installing the following drivers, sound card is just the beginning!

If you want to use your own installation of the OS, be sure that you install all the drivers, tools and utilities in the correct order. For this, you can download installations instructions document of the Toshiba download page.

  • Cannot install Windows XP Home on Satellite Pro A300

    Hey guys,.

I was hoping I could find help on these forums. I hope I posted this in the right place.

There is, Windows Vista is crazy on one of my laptops, and I wanted to install XP. (No, you can't laugh at me). I have XP Pro SP3 disk.
Although even the recovery agent that Toshiba has on all of its portable computers computers could not solve these problems, I had. I put the XP Pro Sp3 disk in the CARPET * A DVD-RAM UJ880AS drive, hoping to use the formatting on it, so he let me install XP as Microsoft/Windows made it impossible to return. In any case, the formatting went all well and then just install came with billions of mistakes.

I currently have a Ubuntu Live CD running on it to make it actually DO something, and its working fine. But I want really bad XP on it.

I think that the issue could be a DEFECTIVE SECTORS on the HARD disk.

    I need help and input.

I buy a new HARD drive and hope that installation work? Buy a new laptop?

Your help is appreciated like you wouldn t believe. This has been driving me crazy for centuries.

    Brock

    Hello.

    (1) check if your CD has no scratches.
    (2) make sure that the DVD player lens is clean (dust). Otherwise, perform a cleaning operation using the stick of hydrophilic cotton and alcohol (make it very accurate and avoid making any what micro scratches).
    (3) back up all data from all partitions. Then start a new installation of Windows XP. In the settings, delete all your existing partitions (make sure, after that you have ONLY space unpartitioned) and then create new partitions to default size. Format these partitions in NTFS (fast) mode. Finally, install the system on the C partition.

    That's all.

Good luck to you and keep posting your progress.

    Kind regards
    Osman.

  • How to install the new BIOS for Satellite Pro M50 under Ubuntu

I am running Ubuntu on my M50 Pro. Could someone advise me what is the latest BIOS and how to install it?

The update of the BIOS here site seems havean exe file but I couldn't see the BIOS file to the breast?

    Thank you

Why do you want to update the BIOS?
You have any big trouble with your laptop?

The European driver Toshiba page provides BIOS BIOS for Vista and XP.
Both versions of the BIOS must be completed while the operating system is running!

If you use Linux on your laptop, you will not be able to update the BIOS!
    Do you understand?

Once again; Updated the BIOS should be carried out ONLY if it of absolutely necessary. In other cases don't update!
