installing a video card in p7-1010

Hi, I have a new HP Pavilion p7-1010.  I am wanting to install a new video in card and want to make sure that I can.

The video card I'm interested is an AMD Radeon HD 6950.

I realized I have to install a new power supply too, correct?

Hello

Radeon 6950 video cards connect 10.2 "11.4" length.  You must open the PC and the measure to make sure that you have enough room.

Yes, you will need a new power supply.  The Corsair CX600 apppreciate be a good choice.

You need to open your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your diet.  Here is a list of the things to consider:

  1. Specifications
  2. Total power - important
  3. amperage 12 + v - important
  4. Modular - is not required, but I like the flexibility
  5. Warranty
  6. I7 and SLI ready
  7. Efficiency rating
  8. Cost
  9. The physical size - standard ATX PSU is 5.5 "by 5.9" by 3.4 "give or take a few tenths
  10. Only one + 12 volt rail is a better choice.

www.Newegg.com has many choices of power supplies.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake...

I am in train to install a video card in my 6000 Pro SFF and find that when the new video card is inserted, neither she, nor my tip on video card working.

Assuming that their must be a way to get the card to operate in the BIOS (2 786 v2.03), I'm going to the "Advanced" tab and find "PCI devices. Underside of the mentioned deviced is 'Controller VGA Intel'. Choice for this controller are the IRQ = 5, 10, 11, or disabled. Apparently, the default value is 5 because that's how it is now set.

A little scared that if I put "Disabled", which will be not only the new video card does not work, but the video card on the motherboard won't work, too.

Y at - it anyone out there that can tell me if you change the VGA Intel controller to disabled is the right way to install the new card, and that I only put my computer in a heavy paperweight by.

You are welcome.  Thank you for the additional information.

I don't think you have to do anything in the BIOS.  At least, I wouldn't do anything, until you have improved the PSU to see what is happening.

When you install the video card, the embedded video is disabled.  You can use one or the other.  However, if you buy a video card with two ports, you can use two monitors.  You must make sure that the video card will work correctly 300W of power.  A card that requires 350W should run OK, because manufacturers tend to overstate the power requirements of their cards.

  • Help! I lost his PC after installing the video card. The software installed its HDMI audio driver. How can I get sound on PC speakers?

To watch TV on the big screen, I installed a video card with HDMI output. (Sapphire Radeon HD6450)
The software installed its own device driver (AMD Hi definition audio) but disabled my PC speakers (and the headphone jack).
(The sound is displayed on the TV very well, via HDMI, in which I can not type)
I tried to re - activate the driver Legacy in the management of the computer, but the field enable is gray.
The PC is a hp Pavilion a1630n

  • long beeps after installing the video card

    Hello

    I recently bought a HP 500-223w.

I wanted to install a power supply a video card.

Here's the problem: everything works fine without the installed video card.

If I install the video card then at startup it gives me a series of long beeps.

I turned it off after the long fourth beep assuming they would UST go on and on.

The power supply is more than enough to power the video card.

The video card should not be bad, because I just moved it from another system. (system currently does not, bad mobo)

I was wondering what the infinite long beep on startup?

    Thanks and regards, TJames.

    Hello:

Product for your PC specifications indicate that it comes with Windows 8.1.

To install a video card no HP on PC shipped with Windows 8 or 8.1, you must change both settings of the BIOS before installing the card.

Please see this document for the BIOS to change settings...

I want to join 6 screens with a single CPU.

    Hi DebBiswas,

You can attach as much monitor you need, but it depends on the material if it supports or plug another video on the computer card.

If you use SLI / Crossfire, the system must support more than 2 cards.

  • Try to install the video card. Integrated graphics card does not! (PE T110 II)

    Hello

I tried to install a video card in the x 16 slot PCIE (ASUS Radeon 5450 Silent). I read on the Board that this video card has worked for others with the T110 II.

I turned off the computer and unplug the power cord.

I installed the video card in the x 16 pcie slot.

The VGA cable is connected to the integrated VGA.

When I turn on the computer, my monitor receives no signal. I tried to access the bios to change the settings of the embedded video controller of standard to distributed. Unfortunately, I am unable to see anything on my monitor, it gets no signal. If I try to connect the vga graphics card it shows a screen black nothing else.

The integrated graphics card works again once I remove the location PCIe video card. The integrated graphics card does not work while the video card is connected.

    I 2.8.0 bios version.

I can hear the computer starts, but I don't see what is on the screen, I'm not sure if the bios is starting.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Use the embedded video.

How can I disable integrated/onboard graphics on my hp 3500 pro using windows 7.  my system does not show a boot option disable security

Most HP desktop PC BIOS turn off the graphics card integrated automatically when a video card is installed.

UEFI PCs are a very different breed. Upgrade one video solution to others which specifies the option HP is quite difficult because of the strict limitations that the BIOS placed on upgrades.

Yours is a work PC and not a class of consumer product.

The NVIDIA GeForce GT635 2 GB and AMD Radeon HD8570 are only two video cards eventually sold with the PC model you own. Low profile cards models are likely to be the best way to go.

So I put an old geforce 8800, and she starts without a problem. When I try the new card Geforce GTX 650, the same thing, just hangs at the splash screen.  I checked the bios and it doent seem to be something there that can help wouild. My diet is 460 w, and the new map needs of 400 w, any help will be greatly appreciated

    Hello

Most of the cards PCI-E 3.0 are retro-compatible with the PCI-E 2.0 slots.  However, in order to get the PCI-E version 3, you must use a processor Ivy Bridge.  Look at these specificationsfor a typical NVIDIA GTX 650.

  • Now 23-d044 - installed MXM video card - HP Envy screen flashes red green blue black

    Hello

I'm a 23-d044 I wanted to do the update/install video card instead of using the integrated graphics card.  I tried two different cards, a nVidia GeForce GT 540 m 2 GB and a part of HP AMD card #707804-002.  In each case the applied heat sink was part HP #694456-001. In each case, whenever I go back to the PC and it works, the screen flashes red, green, blue, black, white to infinity. I have read these and other forums indicating that this is a fault with the GPU, but I find that is unlikely given that I tried two different cards. I thought that maybe the MXM connection on the motherboard, but on the original motherboard power connector was defective, I have since replaced the motherboard (about 2 weeks ago) with the same part number. I downloaded both the AMD and nVidia drivers the most recent for each card (while running the integrated graphics card), but not joy.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance for the help!

    Sean

Sean, I had the same problem too.  I finally thought to it.  Just above where the grafics card go is two connectors and one of them has a plug in there.  above the connectors, said uma_lvds, the other says MXM_LVDS.  Swap the power cord of the uma_lvds to the mxm_lvds.  This will fix the problem and you will be running.

  • HP Slimline S5-1414: problem installing a video card

This system is more under warranty. Not worried about of voiding the warranty.

I tried to install a PCIe video card in this card Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 Low Profile of the system. However when I install the computer will beep 6 times and the power light flashes orange 6 times. As a precaution, I installed a 750 Watt Antec power supply (yes he is sitting outside of the case and I put it ashore to the case by a 10 gauge wire soldered to the case and PSU, and yes it's a solid connection) and I also have the latest version of the BIOS installed, which is the Version 8.19 Rev. A. I am currently at a loss. Is there a BIOS setting or rider, I missed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • installing a video card

I think to buy a new computer (I want to wait because I need one right now) or just work on the one I have already.  One thing that is important to me is to be able to play games on my computer, I'm looking for a video card. I don't really know if you need some requirements to install some cards or those to get but I found one that is less my price range and looks good for what I need.

What I need to know, is if I can use this video card:

01 G-P3-N945-LR of EVGA GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB DDR2 PCI-E 2.0 graphic CardW with the computer I have. I have a HP Vectra mini tower that was made for Windows 98, but has been upgraded to Windows XP. It has almost nothing installed on it, and it currently has an old video card that doesn't really have anything. I believe it is called Nvidia GeForce 100/200.

This vintage PC usually come with an AGP slot.  The PC is probably too slow to run the average game.  Buy PC components when they go on sale.  Total cost should not exceed $300.  Have a good local PC Builder to assemble and test the new rig overclock.  Final cost would be about $ 500.  CPU E5200 will easily hit 3.4 GHz.  Add a GPU to 4830 of Radon to $75 and you're ready to go.

Re-use the XP with the new PC license.

  • Install the video card drivers

How to install or get a video card driver?

    Original title: drivers

General information on the update drivers - 't-working-properly#update-driver-hardware-isn't-working-properly=windows-7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/update-driver-hardware-isn

If you bought the PC from a store/manufacturer, then go do their site of support for your PC model and download from them.

If you have built the PC from purchased parts, then go to the factory of your video cards website and download it from their.

Always choose the right brand (Nvidia or AMD/ATI for example) and the model and the correct version for your PC is to say 32-bit or 64-bit.

    Drivers NVIDIA - http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    AMD/ATI drivers - http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

In fact, just download and install the right drivers for your PC brand and model.
